I started with a working Kenmore Pro double wall oven and was left with an oven that does not work. I called initially to have a Sears tech check out an issue I was having with the top oven. It still worked find but every so often, it wouldn't stop beeping. After the first repair attempt, the top oven worked but I went to use the bottom oven only to find the knobs were broke. Another repair attempt to fix the knobs for the bottom oven, go to use it only to find that now BOTH OVENS DO NOT WORK. The last repair attempt, the tech said that he got the top oven to work. A few days later, I had it on a low temperature (180 degrees to be exact). Left to run an errand and come back only to find my house filled with smoke, the alarm system going off and the oven temperature all the way up to over 500 degrees. Over 2 months later and I would estimate over 25 hours on the phone with Sears, I am still left without an oven and Sears is refusing to do anything about it except shuffle me from one person to the next.

We scheduled an appoint for Friday, October 10, 2014, a week and a half in advance. We were given the 1-5 time slot. My husband took 1/2 a vacation day to wait for the repair man. They never showed up or called. I had even called that morning to provide an additional contact number and confirm the appointment. When I called (about 5:15 p.m.) to find out what was going on the only thing the rep could tell me was that there was no tech on the route that day, whatever that means. They weren't very apologetic regarding the no show and offered to reschedule for Monday. If they could have done better than a 4 hour window I may have considered it but a 4 hour window is a big block of time and neither of us could the additional time off right away. Though I have no experience with their actual repair ability, I would not use Sears again because they are unreliable and have little respect for their customers' time.

The guy was great. He was friendly and honest. He fixed something that was minor. He said really there is no charge for this because I had to be in this area anyway. He said the repair was something so minor. I appreciate that.

We have had an agreement with Sears under warranty. I cannot remember the name of the company. They don't call themselves Sears Repair anymore. It's something else. Our contract is through Sears though. We always call through Sears. They do maintenance on our washer and dryer that we have extended warranties on. When we have had trouble, they have come out to fix it. The last repair was a big process. You would think it would be easy, but it wasn't. They had to go through and remove several parts in the machine to get to that. I think they did a good job. Normally, we purchase all our appliances through Sears. When we bought this washer and dryer and we have had them probably for about 3 years, the washing machine that was delivered to us never did work. It did not work from the beginning. Sears did not replace it. We had to go through Electrolux and they had a company in Thomasville bring us a replacement. I do not know what was wrong with it. All I know is that it would not put water in the machine. It would tell me to turn on the water and the water was on. Some of the electronic things are testy, but I think it had to do with the water pump. We use Sears just because of convenience. We do have card like a credit card with them. Usually you pay without interest so that's why we go with them. They fixed it and it's working now. The first time they came and figured out what the issue was. Then they had to order the part and come back another day to fix it. It wasn't like they came out and fixed it the first day. Their arrival time is more like they give you a huge window of time of a couple of hours so it's not really pinned down with them. You are given a range of several hours that they could show up. They do call before they come out and it's always within that window. There was a time when I think they didn't even show up at all. We have had that happen before where we were later in the day in our appointment and they got done doing what they were doing somewhere else. It ended up being time to quit for the day and they didn't call or anything. We have had that happen before. That wasn't the last time. They did nothing about that. We called to find out why they didn't show up. It was because they ran out of time during the day and they didn't bother calling and saying that they were not coming so we had to reschedule. Because we have the warranty through them obviously we did reschedule with them, but we weren't happy about that. Their last visit was fine. It was under warranty so the price really did not count. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Sears Parts & Repair Center came out and replaced a button in our front load washer. You have to push the button for the thing to come out to put the detergent in and it wasn't coming out.

They have always been very good. They came when they were supposed to and did more than they were supposed to do. They did all the right stuff. It was warranty work so there was no charge. I would absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: I used Sears to service the lawn tractor and they reset it.
