Purchased roof maintenance deal. Quick response and service, and good/thorough communication. Would hire again.

Chaz Knox provided an excellent consult over the phone addressing several aspects of possible remedy for my problem. We spoke for 15 to 20 minutes, and his recommendations were excellent, and there was no charge for his insights. A true professional. If my subsequent pursuit of remedying the issue ends up requiring roof work, I will definitely go back to Knox for serious consideration.

He initially told me that it would be an extra $200.00 dollars for the shingles and labor, but he called me back and the cost was $100.00 instead. The cost for the package was $149.00.My total was $249.00. My roof was replaced about 12 year ago on a 105 year old house . I felt that this was a good price for maintence of my roof. I appreciate their honesty.

He was misrepresentative and dishonest and i would NOT recommend him to anyone. i stand by the actions. mr. knox claims he would be on stie throughout the project and was not. watch out, you will not likely get what you are promised. no training with his crew and good salesman and no integrity.

Couldn't be happier! I had approximately 8 contractors give me estimates and not one of them compared to the professionalism and knowledge of Chaz. From the very beginning, he was very honest, took his time explaining everything to me and answered my questions. Being that he is a certified shingle installer made a huge difference. He offered a warranty that no other contractor could compare with. His price was very fair and competitive. His crew arrived at my home at 7:00 am and worked until 7:00 pm until the job was completed. They cleaned up everything and the roof looks amazing. A really great bunch of guys! If you are teetering on a decision and Knox's Construction is a consideration, do not hesitate for one minute. He is excellent!

I was contacted timely to schedule the work and was given an update when the weather required rescheduling. I have a 3 story townhouse and it is nearly impossible to find anyone willing to go up that high to do any roof work, especially in the winter. While assuring their own safety given the weather, I received my services timely. The service was performed as advertised and I was immediately called to tell me the results of the inspection and what was done. Minor maintenance services were performed on the roof. It is rare to be contacted as often and as timely as I was in this case and the service was excellent. I'd have additional inspections done by Knox Construction as needed and if and when I need repair work I will plan to call on them for that work.

Great. Chaz has great communication, and they came and were done quickly. I'm considering Knox's for doing a complete roof replacement.

We purchased a voucher advertised on Angie's list for a roof maintenance package from Knox Construction, Chaz Knox. Some of the shingles had fallen off the roof during the winter and we were concerned that we might have a leak. Chaz called and stayed in touch periodically to let us know that he would make an appointment as soon as the weather would permit. True to his word, he showed up on time on the appointed date. He informed us that the package offered did not apply for roofs with a pitch greater than 7/13 which is the case with our A frame home. After having dealt with contractors from h*** during recent renovations, I certainly did not expect for Chaz to offer to repair the shingles for the same price that we had paid on the package. We were very impressed with his work ethics and honesty. Thank you Chaz, we feel safe and sound with our leak free roof.

Overall great experience, Chaz provided a competitive bid with other construction companies contacted, and there was no pressure at all on his part for us to choose his company. The 2 day project was started when there was a break in the weather, in fact Chaz and his crew removed snow from part of the roof, removed existing roof and installed new roof in the same day. Siding replacement, downspouts and gutters with gutter guards were installed a day later with the dumpster picked up the following day. His team worked hard from the time they arrived to the moment they left. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the work area. Communication was very good, Chaz called to confirm and remind me that he would arrive on the agreed starting date and what we needed to do to prepare for his arrival. We are very pleased with the finished work that they did. I would not hesitate to hire Chaz and his crew again and would highly recommend them.

The work crew were great. Very friendly and polite. They started the work when Chaz said that they would and they worked during some of the hottest summer days of 2013 starting early and stopping in mid afternoon. They had the entire project done in less than a week and cleaned up extremely well. Chaz was even on the job one day, all day and he even brought his daughter to clean up around the yard. They work very hard and put on a solid dependable roof. GAF follows up and checks the roof and then provides you with a certificate of installation to go with your warranty. Good product and great installers. We are very happy with the results and would recommend Knox's Construction for any of your roofing projects. The new roof was tested this winter with some major wind storms of 50 plus mph winds. Not a single shingle moved. Not even on the front of the house that faces due west.

The crew was always on time and very hard working, courteous, and cleaned up area very well every day. Our house was in very poor looking shape with box gutters nearly falling off, missing slates from the roof, bad chimney and so much more. The house is well over 100 years old and needed tons of work. We can not begin to express how pleased we are with the finished results. The new roof is beautiful and the siding looks perfect, which I am sure is not an easy thing to accomplish with a house this old. The attention to detail is obvious and we are extremely happy. Knox Construction was the perfect choice for us and came through on all promises. I would not hesitate to hire Chaz and his crew again and would highly recommend them to friends and family.

When we booked Chaz, it was in the fall and he was booked til early the next spring. That was not an issue with us as we were not experiencing any issues other than some missing shingles. Chaz assured us if something happened between the fall and teh spring, to just call him and he would come out and fix it. Luckily nothing happened, so in April 2012 Chaz and his crew worked to install our roof. He and his crew arrived early each day, and were meticulous in completing their work. they wrapped things up in about a week and the results were great. His crew was professional and courteous, and cleaned up each day. In fact, they did such a nice job, one of our neighbors had Chaz stop over while they were still working , give him a quote and hired him to replace his roof later that summer as well. About a year later we experienced a leak near the Chimney after a driving rain. I contacted Chaz and he promptly came out with hiis crew even though he did not think it was the roof. Chaz inspected everything and noted that the chimney morter needed repointed as it had developed numerous cracks over time. He had his crew pick up some clear caulk and caulk it to fix it temporarily for us at no charge - until we could get a mason to come out and fix it properly. Well, we went on vacation a few days later and when we returned was unsuccessful in getting one mason Chaz had recommended to find time to stop out and give us a quote. So as summer was ending, I contacted another company who said they would do this work. They came out a few months ago while we were at work and said they repointed everything and caulked the seams by the flashing. Alas, a few weeks go by and we are still experiencing a leak. So we contact this masonry company again and they said they would send someone out to check everything out. They reported back they saw no issues and it must be the roof. So this weekend, after noting the leak had dripped down from a recent snow, I called Chaz. He promised he would be here first thing Tuesday to check everything out. He arrived this morning, and also brought a mason from another company with him. they both inspected inside the attic to see the leak, then on top of the roof. Well, the good news was Chaz's roof was not leaking at all. The bad news was the company I hired to repoint the chimney ripped me off. Chaz showed me photos of the chimney he took on his cell phone showing no repointing work had been done. This company simply tried to put caulk on some of the cracks - and not even all of them at that. Needless to say I was not happy at this other company. Chaz was nice enough to go back up with my own camera and take additional photos for me to help document this so I can try and get my money back from this company that said they repaired the chimney, And Chaz did not charge me for his time, even though it was not his issue with the roof So I would highly recommend Knox's Construction - they do quality work and are honest and courteous

It was a pleasure dealing with Mr. Knox. I explained over the phone what I needed to have done to my house and he arrived the next day, reviewed my house and gave me a quote. Mr Knox was easy to talk to and his quote was competitive with other construction companies i contacted. There was no pressure at all on his part for me to choose his company. When i agreed to have him do the work, he explained to me that he was extremely busy and then gave me a date when the work could be started. We were both in agreement and the work started on the agreed date. There was always open communication between us. If i had any questions or concerns he would always call me back promptly. He also called to confirm and remind me that he would arrive on the agreed starting date and what i needed to do to prepare for his arrival. His work crew was great. They introduced themselves and told me not to hesitate to ask them questions if i had any concerns. This job required 2 full days to complete. They worked hard from the time they arrived to the moment they left. At the end of each day, they completely cleaned up the work area, which was very difficult between the shingles, lining, and nails. They kept me up with their progress. I am extremely pleased with the work that they did. If i need anything else done i will definitely give Knox's Construction a call. I WOULD RECOMMEND KNOX'S CONSTRUCTION TO ANYONE !!! We talked with several roofing contractors at the Pittsburgh home show and after we heard how his company installs the new roof, and that all his employees needed to attend an actual GAF roof training academy, we were sold. The ball park estimate at the home show was also pretty close to the actual cost of the job. As a homeowner, I like to understand what the job entails and how they will go about it. Chaz was excellent in explaining everything to my satisfaction. The roofing job started fairly close to the estimated start date, with Chaz and 5 of his crew arriving on time to start the job. All of his crew were professional and respectful of our home and our outside property as they went about their work and their work was of high quality. They cleaned up at the end of each workday. We also had a problem with the skylights we ordered from the manufacturer (nothing to do with Chaz), and Chaz helped us quickly resolve the situation with the manufacturer. Overall, we are VERY SATISFIED with the new roof that Chaz and his crew installed for us. Thank you guys...

Chaz arrived promptly first thing in the a.m. He was thorough yet quick to provide an estimate. Was very cooperative. They were very professional during the course of their business. Would definitely recommend!

We are very satisfied we chose Knox's Construction. We met Chaz and other contractors at the home and garden show in March and really like his professionalism so we had him come out for an estimate. He made the best impression from the contractors that came out for estimates and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Our roof was around 20-22 squares, ranch style, low to medium pitch, double shingle. Existing roof was approx. 30-35 years old. Chaz and his crew were on time early every morning (around 5:45) and started the work right away. They were always on time, worked till 4pm and made sure area was very clean after every workday. Our roof was completed in 2 days and the rest of the work was completed the 3rd day. Our roof is timberland HD shingles and the look is amazing. The roofers did an amazing job and my neighbors concur, telling us how great our new roof looks.

We visited the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show earlier this year to located companies to do work for us around our home. One project, a new roof. We met many different companies at the show. From the start Chaz from Knox's Construction stood out as our first choice. He was polite, well groomed, educated and patient with our many questions. Chaz arranged a date to provide a free estimate. When the time came, he called to confirm our appointment and showed up on time. Chaz gave a thorough review of the estimate and took time to explain our options and not just up sell us. The other companies no showed, cancelled or never provided the estimate. Chaz was given the project. When the weather broke and he was able to perform the job, just as he promised, he called and arranged the install. Chaz and his crew showed up on time and worked their tails of in this heat. Each worker was courteous and professional. The work was performed quickly and to specifications. The crew was sure to clean up after themselves and were a pleasure to have at our home. gave the best estimate in march. gave a possible date in may to do it. they were on time with date. workers all polite. arrived 5:45am every morning. got roof done in 4 days. great work. neighbors love the look.

Chaz Knox answered the phone on my first call. We scheduled an appointment for him to look at my roof and for him to develop a proposal. He was early for the appointment and gave me a proposal at the end of the appointment. I said that I would like to read the proposal before making the decision and he said that that was fine. A few hours later, I signed the proposal, scanned it and emailed it to him. He called me the same day and told me that he would get back to me to let me know when his crew could do the work. He called me the next day and gave me a date. His crew did the work when promised. His crew was very efficient. It took three guys 12 hours (36 man hours) to do the job over two days (one full day and half the next day). When they finished, I went up on the roof where his foreman pointed out the different things they encountered and what they did in response to them. It was an excellent experience from start to finish.

Met Chaz at the home show and gave him my information to get an estimate. The next day he was out to look the roof over. I was given a verbal estimate at that time and received the written estimate via email the next business day. I had received a few estimates and his was slightly higher than the others but the level of professionalism that he display made the decision easy to go with Knox Construction. They called several days prior to starting the job to give me that start date. The morning they were schedule to start they were at the site early and working even though it was slightly raining. Day 2 they were there again on time and had everything finished up by noon. Chaz answered any questions that I had and was a great help in the process. I would recommend them to anyone needing roofing work.

We are going to get with the guy. We have not had the work done. It won't be done until August because it is pretty booked up. The guy was totally professional, and he was not pushy. He just explained everything. We like the fact that we did not have to put any money down right now, and he saved us the money because we have them bought our gutters. He said, "I can save your money. They do not need to be replaced."
