It was fine. He did what he was supposed to do.

Chaz Knox and his crew were great....professional, answered the "gazillion" questions I had about the process while they were doing it and completed the job within 2 days. They left my yard and driveway spotless - no debris left behind. I had a leaking gutter and a piece of siding that was not part of the contract, but I noticed before they started the job. They did quick repairs to both items with no additional charge. I also got to use the Angies List coupon for free leaf protection for gutter guards that Chaz's crew installed when they finished the roof. My roof looks spectacular and has been modernized. Would recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Knox Construction replaced the shingles on our roof. They gave us a very competitive price, came as scheduled, and finished in two days. The roof looks great, the property was cleaned up, and the dumpster was removed from our driveway one day after completion. The workers were professional and polite. Really it was a perfect job

On August 16 Knox's Construction completed a total roof replacement on my home and out-shed. From first contact on this project Mr. Knox was upfront, knowledgeable, and professional. What was explained in the proposal was what was provded, and then some. As the actual work date neared, he kept me updated with regular status reports, from supply delivery dates and times to the arrival of his work crew. The laborers were very friendly, very conscientious, and very, very good at their jobs. In a day and a half they completed the entire replacement. Watching these men work as a team was extraordinary. With little conversation, each went about his duties knowing exactly what was needed, when it was needed, and had the next step prepared with no delay. No wasted time. The clean-up after completion was exceptional. You couldn't tell that a major (and dirty) job had taken place. Not a nail or scrap of old shingle to be found. These men took pride in their work and it showed in the finished product. As promised, the Certainteed Integrity Roof System that Mr. Knox used produced a beautiful, well constructed roof. After our recent first new roof rain storm, it is apparent that everything was done as it should have been. No leaks, no runs, no errors. Completely satisfied. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being outstanding, I'd give them a 7. Truly a pleasure to have done business with Knox's Construction.

Immediately advised me that they were not taking any more roofing jobs post my explaining a skylight was leaking on a terra cotta tile roof. Very professional.... very much appreciated the honesty.

Decided upgrade shingles and put up seamless gutters, not included in the estimate. Cost an extra $3,600. Got the estimate within a week, told we would get a new roof in next two to three months.Took almost three months.to get the roof because it was such a wet Spring and intermittent showers in the Summer. Whenever I called about any question, Chaz usually got back to me that day. Very energetic guy. Got a call earlier in the week that the shingles would be delivered on the Thursday and to not have any cars in the driveway. Told by Chaz the guys would show up at 6 a.m. and they did. Put tarps down to protect the bushes and front and back of my house. Some of my bushes and flowers got squished--would have staked them to give some more protection. They moved smaller flower pots and planters to protect them. Dumpster delivered first day the guys started to work. Any time there was a question or our cars in the driveway needed to be moved, got a phone call from the foreman on the job. Very polite young man. All of the guys were polite and courteous. Removed the shingles, then the tar paper and gutters and downspouts. Day one, they put new tar paper and shingles on the back of the house, the back porch and much of the back of the roof over the attached garage. Day 2, removed shingles, etc. on the front of the house and put on the new tar paper and shingles. Day 3 worked over the roof above the garage. The company who makes the seamless gutters came to make the gutters on site and the Knox Construction workers installed them. Cleaned up all of the tar paper, old shingles, gutters, downspouts and all trash accumulated over the week. Not even a nail left over! Swept the driveway and my garage where many supplies were stored that week. Completed in 3 days. Chaz warned me the dumpster company would be by over the next two days and to make sure there were NO cars in the driveway so the dumpster company could haul away the used dumpster. If they couldn't pick it up it was a $400 fine. The next day, the dumpster company called to say they were coming later that day after 12 noon. They left a message. They must have called Knox Construction because Mrs. Knox, the secretary, called me to warn me about keeping the driveway cleared off for them. Used Certain Teed shingles and they sent me an evaluation form about Knox Construction. They make beautiful shingles! My roof looks great! The seamless gutters were made by Englert. Look beautiful!

In the details, it said: Additional charges may apply for roofs with a pitch greater than 7/12; ask service provider for details. I did not call before I purchased the deal. They were very prompt in replying to me via my Inbox. However, it appears they Googled my home and saw that the 'roof was not walkable', and since the deal was for a 'walkable' roof, they told me to request a refund from Angie's List. There was no offer of additional charges on doing it anyway, but I did not ask since it was clear I should ask for a refund. Unless I were a roofer or had knowledge of such terminology, I would not know what pitch my roof was.Be sure if you see this to find out before taking a deal.

prompt, professional and good advise

I purchased a Big Deal for Roof Maintainence, however when I called to redeem it turns out I was not eligible because of the pitch of my roof. The person I spoke to on the phone was very nice, and apologized that the description on the Big Deal was not clear enough.

Appointment was scheduled. He came on time. Explained that our roof didn't fall under the package criteria. Suggested some other roofers to call. Told me to contact Angie's List about a refund. he was very pleasant.

Excellent service and confident of the quality of their work. I would definitely recommend this roofing company and plan to contact them in the near future for a new roof.

Our experience could not have gone smoother. We obtained estimates from several roofers; all of which were higher priced and not nearly as professional. Chaz is very good at constant communication; after contacting him, we didn't have to wait for him to come out...unlike other roofers. He kept us up to date through the whole process; when they would start the job, if they had to prolong it because of rain, and he was always following up to make sure everything was going well. The crew was trustworthy. They cleaned up the job every day. We had absolutely no complaints. My husband and I agree this is the best experience we have had with any contractor. Usually something will come up, especially at the end of a job. But, that did not happen with Chaz and his roofers. We would highly recommend them, if you are looking for a professional job, and competitive pricing. Lastly and most importantly, the roof looks fantastic!

After they arrived the contractor introduced himself to my wife & myself, he said he could not proceed with the inspection due ton the fact that our roof was not a walk on type of roof. He would need to construct scaffolding in order to access the roof and upon visual inspection of the condition of the roof, he warned that the shingles have a "granulation appearance to them, making them very unsafe to stand or walk on, which he said would void the initial inspection as was stated on Angie's list, my wife asked if he could give us an estimate without doing the thorough inspection he said he could and proceeded to measure the square footage of the roof,and and it's visual condition, to which he wrote up an estimate of $12,500.00 with 6500 up front for deposit of the work, we told him thank you and would let him know one way or another, but will be proceeding with other estimates, before we can make a decision. After a couple of contacts the work was scheduled for 4/4/2014 8-12 timeframe. On 4/3/2014 the contractor contacted me asking questions about the size of my home and roof pitch based on information they had gathered from google maps eagle eye view of my home. I confirmed their estimation of size and pitch. They indicated that they could not go up on the roof without scaffolding which would put the cost closer to $4000 to do this work. They did offer a visual inspection from the ground as an alternative. After some additional discussion we agreed that due to the age of the roof, there was probably not an immediate concern and definitely no need to spend $4000. Overall, they came across as honest and I would not have a problem doing business with them again.

I called knox construction after a home inspection on a house we are considering purchasing. Given the short time of the contingency period, we only had several days left to get a roofing inspection and an estimate. I had purchased an Angies List big deal to be done on our house the next week by his company, so I gave them a call. They worked me into their schedule the next day. I was not able to be present at the inspection, but Chaz called me right after he was done and told me what he saw. He also was able to advise over the phone for an estimate. Later that day, he emailed me a written estimate that we could discuss with the seller. He was able to objectively say and list why the roof needed to be repaired and replaced. We will use his estimate to negotiate with the sellers. While the visit was not free, he said that cost would be credited to us, if we chose his company to do the repairs/replacement. He was very professional and knowledgeable and explained things well.

Chaz came out and did exactly what he advertised that he would do. It was a great service. He was very thorough and professional, as well as being personable. I would probably hire him again if I ever needed any roof work.

Chaz Knox, owner of Knox Construction, arrived as scheduled and asked me what my issues and concerns were. He did a full inspection of my roof as well at the attic for leaks, mold, and bad shingles. I am happy to say he found it to still have a few years of life left and caulked a few places explaining everything as he went. We discussed a price for a new roof in the future and he answered all my questions. Chaz was very professional and polite and I look forward to working with him again in the future.

I thought he was going to give me a written report as he indicated I had roof damage caused by hail but he did give me a verbal evaluation. He got back with me within a day to schedule the appointment.

I bought one of Angie's Deals since our roof is almost 20 years old. They were on time and got right to work. He informed my husband of all of his findings and made minor repairs. He also took measurements and gave us an estimate on the spot if we decided to move forward with replacing the roof. It was very reasonable. I would recommend Knox to anyone looking for help with their roof. They were very knowledgeable.

Chaz was always upfront, honest, and professional. On top of that, he called when he said he would and showed up on time. I'm disappointed that we weren't able to work with him on this project, but we will definitely keep him in mind for the future.

Excellent service. He was very professional, responsive and caring. Originally the package I bought did not apply for the type of roof I have, but he made it work and addressed the issues and concerns I had. He was a pleasure to work with. Will definitively call him again for future projects.

The owner called me to see what he could do to resolve my negative review. We spoke a while and realized we each misunderstood each other. He offered his service for free to resolve the issue. I had already called some one else, so I had to decline his generous offer. But, after our conversation I would not hesitate using his service in the future. My satisfaction was very important to him. That's all a consumer can ask.
