The cost is a lot. I think the prices are too high, and they don't always deliver the speed that they promise you. They could be more reliable. I am looking at changing, but I don't know to whom?
Description of Work: We use Verizon for wireless landline phone, and all of our electronic things such as computer, 2 cell phones, and TV.

Description of Work: Please note that my poor rating of Verizon applies to Verizon the provider company and not necessarily the local Verizon service office. In general, we have been satisfied with the individual direct service at our house, the only exception being some brief lack of coordination between different Verizon service functions after a neighbor's line was accidentally cut by their landscaper and Verizon responded to their complaints by reconnecting them and disconnecting us for a period of time. Our gripe BY FAR is the deceptive business practices in the area of billing, service packages, and shady advertised discounts (ie. bait-and-switch). At the time of our contract renewal in early January 2015, our rates were set to skyrocket. From that time through March, we spent countless hours (days/nights) communicating with a multitude of Verizon people via phone, email and chat. Some reps said flat out that there was nothing they could do for a better rate. Others made various rate promises which never came through. Some promised to call back to assure their promises were implemented. None did. In some cases, the rate dropped but so did our service. Our "current package details" on the Verizon website have randomly changed between TV tiers and pricing. Sometimes the bill and the website details do not match. Each month we have had to call to demand a discount that doesn't seem to "stick". All we asked for was a package deal that was advertised on their website "for existing customers". We actually attempted to order that package through the Verizon website. The offer would show in the cart, but when proceeding to the checkout page, the rate would increase by approximately $40. It's been four months and tons of wasted time, and Verizon still has not honored that advertised package deal. We've been able to get it closer in price, but we still cannot rest and know that they are honoring their advertised pricing (or even the pricing that currently shows with our account). Through all this, we have learned that nearly all customer service is outsourced and there seems to be little-to-no connectivity/coordination/authority between the many Verizon people we have talked to. How convenient. Even the one or two reps that seemed very sincere and helpful, initially addressing our request and welcoming follow-up, ultimately caved or went silent and could/would not follow through with their promised package pricing. During this fiasco, I've read countless similar horror stories online. I always like to believe that companies will do the right thing and treat their customers fairly and reasonably (after all, their long-term viability depends on their customers). Apparently Verizon did not get the memo.

We live in the country and don't get good reception. If you contact Verizon and actually get to talk to a technician, it is very beneficial. They are great, and very helpful, but their customer service process is a pain in the neck.

My experience with the internet service provider Verizon has been okay. Lately the screen has been freezing. When you watch it is almost like it is a recording but it is not a recording. It kind of hesitates. Lately it has been happening a lot. I am not sure what's up with that. My experience with customer service being with Verizon has been not bad at all. I haven't really had anything to call them about besides that hesitation and I figured it is my cell phone. My internet service from Verizon is about 160. I will use this provider again in the future. I just have no choice.

The price keeps changing, I just got a smart phone but for two regular phones, I was spending $69 plus tax. I was pleased with the service and I rarely do lose any calls. The only thing about them is a couple of times I tried to call and dealing with their phone trees can be frustrating. I got to the store in Carlisle to buy the smart phone there and I got excellent service there. I am signed up to go to their workshops in a couple of days. I know it is not the cheapest way to go and I have thought about doing prepaid plans. I didn't even realize you could do that with Verizon but when I got my smart phone my husband is using his old phone and the guy looked up our bills for the last six months and he noticed how seldom my husband used his phone. So he suggested that we get a prepaid yearly plan for him, which even with the data plan that I have to now pay for the smart phone will work out about the same or less and I didn't even know about that.

Sometimes if I want to know something, I got to wait but I'm willing to wait. Sometimes I get drop calls. I never encountered any freezes for my cable. I'm pretty happy with my internet connection. I like everything so far. The picture is clear and the phone service is good.

The only other provider is Comcast unless we go satellite. Both providers are the same price and there is no competitive pricing. If I had a choice, I would not use this provider in the future.
Description of Work: Cellphones are $200 a month. Internet, phone and cable TV is $150 a month. This price will rise by 35% in June.
