GP Derr Refinishing

Everything went like it should.

My cabinets are bumpy from residual dust and who knows what else. They now feel textured. There are drips, spots missing paint. Overspray was an issue too -- countertops, floors, walls. The professional painter painter my walls in the kitchen said that it was the worse job he'd ever seen! He felt the cost was way too high especially with the lack of quality. The owner wasn't interested in resanding and making this right. Can't recommend sorry!

The work was done exactly when Mr. Derr contracted. The quality of materials and workmanship was exceptional, and the job was completed on time. The clean-up was far beyond the usual expectations. Very professional and personable.

Excellent results. The kitchen looks fantastic. They were organized, detailed and did an excellent job at clean up. When we needed a touch up, on a cabinet I damaged, they fixed it quickly. We get so many compliments. Highly recommended.

The appearance of the old bathroom is very much improved. Mr. Derr seemed to be efficient and was punctual and courteous. The reason I did not give him an A rating in all categories is because when he was finished there was overspray on my bathroom window, door knobs, and a mirror which he did not remove. Also I thought all of the grout areas in the tub surround would be completely sealed so mold would not be an issue there. Unfortunately there are several places where there is no seal.

Back in 2011, we had tub refinished and all went well at that time, we were given a 5 year warranty on peeling. We called them to ask them to come look at the area around the drain (April 2013). We are still waiting for them to come. They said they would call us a couple days in advance when they would have someone in the area to look at it. That was fine with us, but they ended up calling the night before and we happened to not be home so they didn't come. They have done no follow up with us and have never again contacted us. The drain area around our tub continues to peel. Although the original job was done nicely and seemed good, they are not very good at the follow up.

We had horribly finished oak kitchen cabinets that dated our home. They were solid wood and we did not want to rip them out and install new ones, too expensive and too much time to do that. We called several places and not many would even attempt the glazed finish we wanted. The Derrs came out and agreed to do the finish we wanted, brought samples, and pictures of previous jobs. We decided on a finish and a time line. We could not have asked for nicer and more detail oriented folks than the Derrs. They were a pleasure to have in our home, completed the job on time, and we could not be more thrilled with the finished product!! It completely transformed our kitchen. Love it! Would recommend them to anyone.

Mr. Derr responded promptly to all our calls, arrived on time for all appointments, and was otherwise totally professional. The tub was completed in a morning. It looks great. Only time will tell whether it will be durable.
