ERIKA RUTT-AKENS

Zero stars. Erika is unethical, rude, inconsistent, and way out of her depth. She misrepresented herself, gave terrible advice, showed me zero homes, presented nothing but roadblocks throughout the buying process, and in the end added $8000 in closing costs without my consent. Stay away, she is by far the worst real estate agent I have ever encountered.

I received a very rude phone call from Erika Rutt-Akens. Last week I had called one of her recorded info. lines to find out the addresses of two properties that she had listed in the paper without an address. After listening to the recording and finding out the location was not what I was looking for I hung up. I received a call from her a week later. She introduced herself and told me she got my number from when I called her recorded info line. She wanted to know what she could help me with. I thanked her for following up, but told her that I had just called to find out a location and so not to waste her time, we are currently working with a realtor. She proceeded to ask me what location we were looking for, I told her and then repeated that I didn't want to waste her time since we are working with another realtor. She then said she needed to know what our price range was - I told her I was not going to disclose that info with her. She started getting loud with me and said "I am just trying to help you find properties!" I responded with "that is what we are using our realtor for" Her response "Good luck with that!" and hung up. I am appalled with how she acted...I would never use her and advise anyone to stay clear of her attitude!!!

She was condescending and always kept us waiting at least 20 minutes for appointments. She was difficult to get a hold of and took her time returning messages. We missed out on 2 houses because we had to wait for days to see them. Other agents were showing the houses and they were vacant so I don't know why we could not see them also. When our contract was up, we hired another Realtor who was wonderful and quickly found the house we live in. I am glad Erika did not get a dime from us. By the way, I was a few months pregnant so finding a house was a top priority for us. We were serious buyers!
