THIS COMPANY WAS AWFUL. WE WERE PROMISED A 9 AM DELIVERY, AND THEY SHOWED UP AT 1 PM (THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY WOULD BE THERE AT 11 AM). THEY BROUGHT OUT THE STONE AND WERE TO TAILGATE IT. WE HAD EXPLAINED THAT WE HAD A CONSTRUCTION STATE DRIVE THAT NEEDED TO BE LEVELED AND WIDENED. I INQUIRED ABOUT HOW SMOOTH IT WOULD BE AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD SIMPLY HAVE TO RUN MY CAR OVER IT A FEW TIMES. INSTEAD, I HAD 4-FOOT PILES AND A HUGE JOB TO FINISH. THEIR RESPONSE WAS TO SAY THAT OUR PROPERTY WAS NOT PROPERLY PREPARED FOR THE JOB (THEY NEVER HAD MENTIONED ANY PREPARATION) AND THEY NEVER PROMISED A SMOOTH SURFACE. THEY SAY THEY HAVE RECEIVED ONLY 3 COMPLAINTS THIS YEAR WITH A $1 MILLION BUSINESS. APPARENTLY, 100% SATISFACTION IS NOT GUARANTEED, AND THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG.
Description of Work: WE HAD 23 TONS OF LIMESTONE BROUGHT OUT FOR OUR DRIVEWAY TO LEVEL AND WIDEN THE EXISTING DRIVE.

Our yard supervisor called and advised we would most likely be there between 11am and 1pm. In some cases the tailgated surface can be quite smooth, but almost always the surface is somewhat un-level and some movement of the material will be required. We do mention the "pile" issue on our sales slip and price sheets. I truly find it hard to believe that anyone here told them it would just need to be driven on. The driver advised their driveway was difficult because it was short and because the area had not been properly prepared. No matter what our driver did he could not make this area level with the existing drive area. The width of the drive did not allow for 2 separate tailgates, one overlapped the other, another reason for unevenness and piles. I believe the 4' piles are a gross exaggeration. I don't take these situations lightly; I consider the risks of an unhappy customer quite seriously. However, in this case I firmly believe we provided the services and materials as contracted.
