Description of Work: On a weekend night, I could not open the inside door from my house to the garage. I did not have accees to our cars. The inside door knob would not turn to open the door. Sounds easy to fix ....but it wasn't. So on a Sunday night, I called Steve and left a message on his voice mail, not knowing when he would call back. Well, he called back that same night and said he was very busy, but that he could fit me in the next morning. The next day he called ahead and arrived promptly. I was embarassed because of a so called easy job, but even Steve couldn't fix it at first. He said he had never seen this particular problem before. Within 15 minutes, he was able to pry open the door and installed a new key-driven door knob. He was polite, prompt and professional. He is now my new repairman!

 + 2 moreVery well. Steve was extremely courteous and polite from day one. He kept us up to date with everything that happened from start to finish. He kept the work area extremely clean and neat and was able to work around our schedule. At the end, all the jobs that he did were excellently done.
Description of Work: We had 5 basement windows replaced with glass block. Our front and rear decks were power washed and stained. Several window screens were installed.

 + -1 moreSteve is exceptionally professional. He is punctual, reliable, tidy, and puts in a full day work. The quality of his work is first-rate and he understands the integrity of a building. Anything he builds is built to last. His work on the basement was outstanding and I am delighted with the end result. The moisture problem that plagued us for years is gone and what was once a dark, damp basement is now a beautiful great room--old metal pillars are now hand-crafted adorned columns, gas meters are hidden neatly behind cabinet doors, and the laundry room is tucked under the stairs. When others say it can't be done, Steve can deliver. After six delivery men from Sears said that the refrigerator wouldn't make it through the door, Steve measured once and guided it through. I recommend Steve without hesitation--he is certainly the best contractor I've ever had in 3 decades of home ownership.
Description of Work: Performed a complete remodel of our basement w/ 12+ ft. high ceilings, creating a great room with a loft-like atmosphere, including: sealing and insulating all exterior walls, framing and hanging drywall, window replacement, installation of full kitchen and bathroom, building a furnace room, creating laundry room, replacing doors to the garages, installing new lighting, updating gas lines, wiring and water lines, and a tri-color paint job. He installed French drains in the front of the house which required digging a 6' trench along the front of the building.
