DMG Appliance Repair

My husband called Duane to fix our freezer that stopped working. It was still cold but not freezing and all of the food in it had thawed out as a result. Duane came out the next day to a**** the situation. He was early for the appointment which I appreciated because I could only be away from work for a certain amount of time. He was very honest about the issue we were having and let us know that it most likely happen again despite the repair. As a result of that we have decided to purchase a new unit instead of putting money into an existing one again and again. We appreciate his genuine honesty and I have already recommended him to one of my co-workers. Thank you Duane!

He was able to diagnose the problem right away and he wasn't at our home for long at all. Also, when I placed the call to him, he had made himself available within the next hour. All in all. he was a very capable and diligent technician who saved us a lot of aggravation by fixing our dryer unit in a timely fashion.

I sent a message (via Angie's List) to DMG Appliance Repair on a Sunday evening. The owner, Duane, replied to my email that night, although I didn't see it until later. He called me the next morning to see how he could help me. I described to him the problem with my refrigerator and he asked me a few follow-up questions. He said that based on my answers, he concluded it could be one of a couple things and he wanted to see to make sure. Duane said that he could come to my home that afternoon and that he would call later with a more specific time. He did exactly that, and showed up exactly when he said he would. He was very friendly and easy to talk to (read: didn't make me feel like a dumb housewife, like some repairmen do), but was still very professional as well. He did some exploration into the fridge and told me what he thought the problem was. He then pulled out the unit from the wall and opened up the back to find that the problem was actually not as bad as he thought. He told me what he was going to do and why, and said if that didn't work, we could go from there. Well, he was right on the money on the first try. He cleaned out the compressor, which was full of dust, dirt and lint, and the unit immediately felt, sounded, and started working correctly. He was happy to tell me that it was not a severe issue, I didn't need to pay for any new parts, and I didn't need a new fridge! I was glad to pay the service call/labor charge because of all the money he saved me in the long run. Duane also told me he would call me later in the evening to make sure that things still looked on target, which he did. I confirmed with him that the temperature in the fridge was continuing to drop back down to where it should be, and he said we were all set. In short, I was very pleased with Duane/DMG Appliance Repair, and I will call him whenever the next thing in my home gives me any trouble! (Duane - my husband says thanks too!)

Outstanding responsiveness. Answered his phone, ordered the parts, told me up front the costs. He confirmed the appointment and was very prompt and polite.

I received the Angie List Discount. He is a freelance repairman that works out of his car. A professional looking uniform (shirt) would improve his business image. A nice guy that knows his appliances. I would use him again.

Duane, arrive prompty and went right to work evaluating why the GE, two year old dishwasher was not draining. He found the pump was clogged and not operating. He could have provided a new pump but to his credit advised us with cost involved we would best buy a new , better unit. Thus he saved us money. Would bring him back again. Job well done!

Duane is very professional. He returns calls promptly, schedules appointments in a timely manner, and does an outstanding job. In my case, because he needed to order specific parts, he was able to do a "temporary fix" so that I would have use of the warming drawer for Thanksgiving. I plan to use this service in the future for any necessary repairs and would give Duane my highest recommendation.

My dryer stopped producing any heat. I called Duane based on his ratings on Angie's List and I'm complete happy with him. He was at my home within an hour and the repair was done quickly and efficiently. He explained what caused the issue and left the extra parts with me in case they were needed in the future. He was very friendly and professional. He even made friends with my dog! I recommend him highly.

I spoke to Mr grant. He scheduled the appointment for the following day. He arrived on time and was very nice, courteous, and professional. He replaced the broken part on the dishwasher and seemed to be very knowledgeable. The cost was a lot more reasonable then what the GE repairman had quoted me. I would definitely use DMG Appliance Repair again.

On both occasions, he was extremely responsive and able to go to the property almost immediately to provide an estimate. I am very happy with his service, professionalism, and cost. I will definitely use him again and would highly recommend him to others.

I had Duane come out to take a look at a 5 year old dryer that wouldn't turn on. He came out with in a day or two and did a number of tests and determined that it was the control board and gave me an estimate on the cost to replace the board which was right in line with what the board costs online. At that point I decided on a new dryer since the cost of the board was so high. To my delight Duane gave me a call the next day and said he had looked into it a little more and found that the board in my dryer had a history of bad solder points and that if I took a look at the board I should be able to tell. Sure enough there was a blown solder point, I re-soldered it and was back up and running. Once Duane left my house he didn't have to look further into my problem, but he did and saved me the cost of a new dryer. Thanks Duane.

Duane is very professional and honest with a good personality. He answered on the first call and rendered service the same day. He was helpful and explained the solutions to the problems. He was quick in diagnosing and fixing the problems as well. He is very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. We will use his services again and recommend him to friends and family.

Our refrigerator/freezer is over 10 years old but large and in reasonable good condition. It started making an occasional loud hum, and the temperature in the refrigerator compartment was getting colder and freezing food that it shouldn't. Adjustments did not seem to help. When I called on a Saturday, Duane answered the phone and agreed to come on Monday. He arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problems, replaced a few parts, and explained that the two problems are unrelated. After a brief explanation, he wrote a bill for 29 minutes labor ($1/minute, $65 service call, and the remainder in parts). That was almost three weeks ago, and the appliance is purring like a kitten, free of any problems. In my opinion, I could not ask for a fairer charge or better result.

He was very prompt, nice and professional. He repaired the unit in just a few minutes explaining the problem and why it malfunctioned.

Duane Grant found that the unit was tilted forward, which was affecting the efficiency and function of the dishwasher and may have contributed to the water level being too high near the front of the machine. He determined that we do not have a recurring leak. He was prompt, professional, and courteous and communicated well before and during the repair visit. His pricing was fair. I would definitely use DMG Appliance Repair again.

Found this vendor in Angie's List - called 6.30pm on a Friday night - prompt and friendly answer - when I described the problem Duane offered to tell me how to fix it myself as I had mentioned that I had done something similar before, and he was willing to save me the price of the service call. Told him I'd be glad to not have to deal with it - he quickly and graciously understood and suggested a time to come out the next day .. Came on time, even a bit early, fixed quickly. Also had a very pleasant personal conversation - not overbearing nor intrusive, just a nice brief chat. Will definitely recommend to friends and neighbors.

Duane responded to my initial call quickly and we set up the appointment. He asked a number of questions to help narrow down what parts might be needed to fix the issue with my washing machine. He called about 15 minutes before arrival to advise he was running on time, did the repairs quickly and got the machine running again. Duane also followed up the next day with a courtesy call to verify that everything was working as it should. He was prompt, professional and I was very happy with the work he did for me. I will use him again.

Had been experiencing on/off again problem with washing machine until it finally stopped working. Did a visual check myself to see if anything looked like a possible cause for problem and found the lid switch was broken. I found Duane on Angie's List, noted he had good reviews from others and he was local. I called him late afternoon, told him about the problem we were having, provided him with the make and model number of our washing machine. He told me that he would order the part needed and to call me the next day when I was available for him to make the repair, which I did. He arrived within fifteen minutes of the call, made the repair quickly and had the washer working again in short order. Duane is very professional, well organized and feel that he is very knowledgeable. For future appliance problems I will be sure to contact him.

Duane is great. I found him on Angie's List, and his great ratings are well-deserved. He called to say he was running 10 minutes EARLY and if it was ok to start before his scheduled time! He is personable, works quickly, and the price is in line with similar work we have had done by other individuals. We will definitely call on him again when we need help.

Our ice maker stopped making ice. I found Duane on Angie's List, called him to make an appointment, and he was able to stop later that afternoon. He diagnosed the problem as being the optic boards. We also asked him about fixing the door dispenser that hadn't worked properly for years. He called me back the next day with prices for each part ($98 and $125- the same prices we found when researching it ourselves) , so we decided to have him replace both parts. It took several days for both parts to arrive, so he called in the interim to let us know that he was still waiting on a part. He came the following week to perform the work. The motor worked well, but the ice maker worked briefly then stopped again. Duane called to follow up the next morning, and I told him that it had stopped. He came over that day and replaced the works in the ice maker itself _at no charge_. Once again, it worked for a few cycle, then stopped. He called the next day to follow up, then brought a new thermostat for the icemaker itself, again _at no charge_. That did the trick! Even though it took a few tries to get it up and working, we are very pleased with Duane's responsiveness to the issues, and that he worked to make everything right at no additional cost to us. Duane was prompt, very personable, worked efficiently and billed his time accordingly. He followed up a week later to make sure that everything was still working. We would use him again.

Ice maker in the freezer had frozen up and Duane fixed it. The door assembly had also broken and was replaced. Duane was extremely responsive and followed up after the job to make sure everything was working.

Duane's knowledge about our washer and the problem was superior. He diagnosed the issue and had the washer working for us quickly.

Duane answered my initial, late afternoon, call himself and was able to come out the next morning. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and even put booties over his shoes when he entered my house. My dishwasher door was not closing properly causing leaking. We had also dropped a screw down into the bottom basket while trying to adjust the door ourselves. Duane was able to retrieve the screw as well as fix the door pretty quickly. As for the fridge, Duane stated the known problem with this particular unit. He stated the problem could likely be solved by increasing the freezer temperature which would still keep the food frozen but hopefully help decrease the temperature in the fridge thus not freezing my vegetables. Appreciated his honesty and for not wanted to replace something that didn't need to be replaced. He did not charge me for the refrigerator and thus far the problem appears fixed.

Duane responded quickly. He fixed the gas dryer immediately and diagnosed that the refrigerator needed a fan motor. he ordered the motor and returned a couple of days later and installed. Great job.

I found Duane to be professional, pleasant and efficient. Returned calls in a timely fashion when needed, and came when he said he would be here. All in all, a very nice experience with a very nice gentleman at an acceptable price. Will definitely use him again in the future if needed.
