I am a 1 person operation. The person that you talk to on the phone is the person who shows up your door. I treat people the way i want to be treated, and that's with respect and honesty. My fees are $90 for the service call, plus parts and labor. I never use a subcontractor, but sometimes i have a helper (my son). I am open on Saturday for emergency calls only (REFRIGERATOR NOT WORKING). Saturday calls are $120 service call.

Description of Work: I called Mr Grant the morning of January 2 with a complaint that my dishwasher wasn't working properly. I explained the problems I was having and he quickly diagnosed the problem. He walked me through steps to try and reset my dishwasher but it just wouldn't reset. He showed up within 2 hours with the suspected part needing repair in hand. It took him a total of 18 minutes to do the repair. The total cost including service call, parts, and labor came to $104.00. The services I received were outstanding and I will definitely be using Mr Grant in the future as well as recommending him to others.

Description of Work: Repaired electric oven, the electrical control panel was damaged. Possibly in an electrical storm. Duane found that was the problem, he ordered the part and returned to install the part and got our oven working again. The part was around $200. The electric ranged was only 3 years old and cost $800, so we went ahead and fixed it. Duane was prompt and professional.

Description of Work: Mr. Grant came to our house around 11 am on 6/9 and diagnosed the problem with our refrigerator as being a broken ice maker which he replaced at a cost of $235.34. | |On 6/10 when the ice maker still wasn't working I called Mr. Grant to inform him of this and he stated that the "optics" must be bad and that he'd order that part and get back with me. | |On 6/17 when I hadn't heard from Mr. Grant in a week I called him. He blamed the delay on the parts provider. I asked him if he could call the parts provider and then call me back with an ETA for when the optics would be in and when he'd be by to fix my ice maker. Mr. Grant called back in the afternoon to say that the part would be in in a few days and he'd be by on Monday, 6/22, because he does not work on Saturdays. | |Mr. Grant arrived around 10 am on 6/22, he replaced the optics and said the he "cycled" the ice maker and everything should be good and we should have ice in around 6 hours. | |When I called Mr. Grant on 6/23 to inform him that we had no ice yet and it was 24 hours later he was perplexed. He said that he'd call the online "tech department" that he's a member of to see if they could help him resolve the issue. Mr. Grant called back that afternoon to inform me that the "tech dept" didn't know what the problem was either since he replaced the ice maker and the optics and that the only other thing it could be was an issue with some type of wiring inside the refrigerator that he could not repair and that he was sorry that he couldn't fix it and that he doesn't like to fail at a job. | |At that point I mentioned that I was going to call Sears to see if they could send someone to look at it and hopefully fix it. Mr. Grant said something to the effect that, "it will take them a week before they will be able to come out and it will be more expensive than I am". At that point my reply to him was, "well you couldn't fix it so my only options are to 1) live with a refrigerator with a broken ice maker, 2) call someone else to see if they can repair it or, 3) buy a new refrigerator!" | |Mr. Grant replied with "you're perfectly within your right to call someone else to look at it but I don't know what they will do since I've replaced everything". At that point we ended the call and I called Sears and set up an appointment. | |Today, 7/6, the Sears tech came out, he spend about 30 minutes diagnosing the problem and was stumped for a bit and then he realized that the switch on the ice maker itself was set to the "off" position. He moved the switch, cycled the ice maker and within 2 hours we heard the first sounds of ice falling into the ice bucket inside of the freezer. The Sears tech asked if Mr. Grant had said that he "cycled" the ice maker and I told him that Mr. Grant had said that he had. The Sears tech said that 1) there is no water in the ice maker so that means that Mr. Grant had not and 2) with the switch on the ice machine being in the off position that there's no way it would cycle while being turned off. | |Mr. Grant's error has cost us another $169 on top of the $404 that we've already paid him. Who really knows if we even needed the "optics" replaced which cost us $168.85 on his 2nd visit because he forgot to turn the ice maker on during his 1st visit. | |Mr. Grant seems like a nice guy but his work quality leaves much to be desired and unfortunately my pocket book learned this the hard way. | |I would not recommend him to fix an ice maker in the future.

Hello [Member Name Removed]. I'm sorry your experience didn't go well with me. I did everything i was supposed to do with your ice maker and optics. I even showed you how the cycling of the ice maker was done, and why you can't touch the refrigerator when doing it. The reason your ice maker was replaced was because your ice maker was falling apart and the Teflon coating was separating from the mold and would end up in your ice cubes. I showed you this and you indeed said "yes, that looks bad". After replacing the ice maker and cycling your ice maker i left and told you it could be a couple of hours before it started making ice, its up to the sensors and the computer. You called me back and told me it wasn't making ice and i told you to shut it off, and restart it. You did and said still wasn't making ice. I told you it was probably your optics and i'd have to order them, which i did. You called me later and asked me when they would be in and i looked up the tracking number and said i would see you first thing the next Monday. I came, installed your optics, and cycled your ice maker in front of you again, i know this because i needed a paperclip to do it, and i had to get one from you. (I also didn't charge you labor because it took longer than expected for the part to come in and i felt bad that you had to wait.) I DIDN'T leave your switch in the off position because the ice maker WON'T cycle in the off position! After i left and you told me it still wasn't working i told you there was probably a problem in the harness. But i couldn't return the optics because you can't return electronics once the package is open, that's not my rule, it's an industry standard. I'm glad your ice maker is now working, but i'm perplexed that it took the service tech 30 minutes to see the switch was off being it's the first thing ANY tech would look for as soon as you open the freezer door!! I did a good job for you and i don't deserve this rating

Description of Work: He came out for a service call....he was on time and it was in the evening. He evaluated the problem, said he might have to order a part but the next day he said he wanted to look at it before ordering the part. Well lo and behold what he did fixed it and that was the end of it. He did not charge me for the 2nd home visit. So I am very pleased.

Description of Work: When I called Dwane he said he could be at my house in about 2 hours and he was, as soon as he saw the refridearator he knew the problem and he had the pices to fix it right then. It took about an hour and then he had cleaned up and was gone. The best part is he called me about a week later to check and make sure everything was still operating correctly. Thanks Dwane

Description of Work: Mr. Grant (Duane) responded to my call immediately, to look at both our gas dryer (not heating up) and our refrigerator making a loud fan blade noise. He fixed the dryer problem by replacing several heating coil components promptly. The refrigerator required a replacement condensation component be ordered. He told us the refrigerator was okay to use until the replacement was ordered and came in. He estimated 4-5 days for the parts. Two days later he informed us the parts were in and he would be here to install them. He was right here promptly, changed the component, and the refrigerator has been fine ever since. Mr. Grant was very professional.

Our refrigerator ice maker was not working properly so I called DMG Appliance Repair and the response was immediate. He assured me that he would return my call to schedule an appointment the next day, but was able to arrive that same day. He was courteous, prompt and very professional. I called Duane and he answered and said he had time that same day to come and check it out, said it sounded like an issue with the ignitor and should be an easy fix. He called about 10 minutes before arriving and arrived at the exact time that he said he would. He fixed the issue in about 30 minutes and I liked that he showed me what he replaced and how it should work once he fixed it. My oven now lights within seconds of being turned on. My only complaint and why I gave him a C on price instead of an A like I did on everything else is because the price of the ignitor from him was $91.00 but when I looked it up on www.appliancezone.com I found the exact part for $37.83 (including shipping). I don't have a problem with him marking up the price a little bit but more than double seems like a little much and if I had know this at the time I probably would have said something. Other than this I was happy with everything and will probably call him again if I have another problem with an appliance.
Description of Work: My oven was taking a long time to light and also to preheat, also when it would light for the first time it would make a loud whooshing sound as the gas ignited.

Somehow, wrong part sent. I don't know who's fault it was, but it took 22 days from 1st contact till job completion. Other than the part problem, I didn't like that he charged a $60.00 service call fee and then charged an additional $1.00 a minute for time spent on the job. This was not mentioned until I got the bill. I little out of the ordinary, I've never seen it before in 27 years of owning a house, and expensive, which is why I would NOT recommend unless you don't care how much you spend.

Hi Customer, I'm sorry your experience with me didn't go well. I ordered the control board right away for you, and yes there definitely was a part mix up. Whirlpool has a acquired Maytag so sometimes there are part numbers that are the same for both company's that we the service tech don't know until we receive the part and find out that its the wrong part. As to the price of the part, as with all my customers,I always tell you the price of the part before i order it, so you have the opportunity to decide if you want it or not. And in your case i believe you discussed it with your wife before deciding to indeed order the part. However,in the interest of good business if you have any problems with any other appliance I'd be willing to waive the service call fee. I've been doing this line of work for 20+yrs, and there has always been a labor fee. Again, I'm sorry you weren't pleased with your experience, but i did my best, and your dishwasher is working.

The side-by-side Maytag refrigerator stopped working, but not the freezer. The auto defrost unit had quit working & it froze up. He came the day I called. He was honest & told me why it happened and what to do to prevent it from happening in the future. A company that sells the appliances won't tell you how to prevent it from happening. He is coming back to replace the part with no additional service fee.
