Charles Pappa Jr Remodeling

Description of Work: I hired Charles Pappas remodeling in 3/2005 to replace all of my windows in my home.When I initially called to get an estimate Mr Pappas was at my home within 3 days,with a contract in hand and a bunch of promises. The work began in 6/05 and wasn't finished until 10/11. I have 20 windows and after 2 days of installation the workers left with only 17 windows installed and a promise that they would come back and install the remaining 3 windows.They said they didn't know when they would be able to come back to finish the job but they were told to collect from me a 9,000 check for the work, even though the work wasn't completed. In the meantime the inside pane of one of the windows upstairs cracked. When I called the office I was told that they would NOT COME BACK TO REPAIR THE WINDOW UNTIL I HAD PAID MY BALANCE which was 1900.00. I had already paid over $ 9,000 and I didn't even have all of the windows installed.I called repeatedly and was told that they WOULD NOT repair the broken window pane (that broke right after it was installed)until I paid my balance.When I asked to speak with Mr Pappas I was denied. I called again and I was told that I would have to measure the window and they would order a new window. Months later when I called to see if the new window had come in and when they would be installing it they told me they lost the measurements and I would have to measure the window again. Window measurements are very specific and the company should have sent a technician out to my home immediately when that window cracked and relaced it. Because the windows were installed in June I didn't notice how drafty they were until the winter season came. During the cold months there was so much cold air coming from around the windows I had to cover the windows with heavy plastic to try to keep some of the draft down on 7 of the 17 windows . In the meantime Pappas Remodeling still refused to repair the cracked inside pane of the window upstairs. When I called them about the drafty windows and how much cold air was leaking from these windows they DID NOTHING!!!!!!!. I continued to call this company for over 6 years to have someone come to my home to repair the broken window in my bedroom , to instal the remaining 3 windows and fix the 7 extremely drafty windows . I was given one excuse after another and finally they sent a technician out who said the windows were fine and left .When I asked him was he going to instal the new pane in the broken window and instal the 3 other windows he told me NO "I was told to only look at your windows but to do nothing else". The draft from these 7 windows was so bad that one could feel the cold air standing 4 feet from the windows. I sent certified letters to this company to get some type of resolution with these windows and the owner never called me. I was not going to pay the remaining $1,900 balance until the remaining windows were installed, the broken window fixed and the drafty windows repaired. This company refused to do anything until I threatened them with a law suit in 2011. A technician came and the drafty windows were repaired but then I had to wait another 6 months until I got the window pane fixed and the remaining windows installed. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They don' t stand by their work, they don't respond to their customers concerns and complaints and they seem to only care about the money not about the service they are suppose to be providing!!!
