Buck Hill Lawn Maintenance

I requested an estimate and a very nice guy came out. Buck Hill emailed me an estimate. I asked if I could apply a 10% discount from a flyer they put in my mailbox. Lauren replied and said yes it was already included. I got angry because I hadn't mentioned the discount prior, yet she said it was already included. I was sent an updated estimate and was told that I misunderstood. I sincerely apologized. I then noticed that the 6% sales taxes on the new estimate was done against the FULL price instead of the discounted price, which is what I would actually be paying. When I replied to Lauren with the correct calculations and tried to tell her that she is wrong - you only pay taxes on the price you pay for a taxable item, NOT what the price might have been, or used to be, here's the response I received: "It doesn't appear that you have much trust in our company. I know we do the best job out there for the best price. With that said, my calculations are correct. Sales tax does not come off discounts. The customer still pays the sales tax on the full price. The discount is an added bonus. It's the way we've always done it, it's the way taxes work. This is according to the IRS and our accountant. I, of course, checked before we started doing discounts years ago. Your distrust in our company makes us a bit weary of your business. You have already had major issues with us, and we haven't even done any work yet. As we see it, trust is a two way street. You've had complaints so far, and we've done nothing wrong, and we are now concerned about you and your ability to pay once the work is completed. We don't feel like we are the right company for your landscape needs, however, we do appreciate your interest in our company. We wish you luck with your future landscape endeavors. Lauren Buck Hill 215-794-2103 " Now I KNEW that what she said about taxes was outright wrong and a bunch of bull, but I forwarded her email to my BUSINESS accountant anyway, which are the best in Bucks County in my opinion, (I've had many business accountants over the years). One of my accountants replied and confirmed that what Lauren said was " absurd". (Just like I thought). I forwarded my accountant's response to Buck Hill and told Lauren HOW DARE she question my ability to pay when she knows NOTHING about me! I asked, "Is this how you behave when a potential client asks how you calculated their taxes?" Furthermore, I questioned their accounting practices. I told her that I would have had more respect for them had they just said they didn't want to do business with me. Instead she thought I was stupid enough to believe that "The customer still pays the sales tax on the full price." Since she said, " This is according to the IRS and our accountant. I, of course, checked before we started doing discounts years ago. ", I told her that I hope she took names. I too am checking with the IRS to see what they have to say.

The price was right and they did a good job, but they missed one or two things that we discussed. The price was definitely right for what they did.

They are good. They have been on time and they billed on time. They did a really good job as I have an interesting sprinkler system and an incredible lawn for them to mow and they did a really nice job. They are really good. They were introduced to us by a friend of ours at church. We have two homes right now and at one I don't have the time to cut the lawn. They have been doing it for us and they really do an excellent job. They cut the grass. The gentleman who had the house before us had this 3 inch grass and it's nice and thick with no weeds. It's got a 64 sprinkler system and so you got to be careful while you are doing it. They are also going to be doing a weed and fertilizer treatment for us. They come out weekly or as needed. I haven't had any problem whatsoever with them. Their billing is good and they answer the phone. They go beyond the service that I need. The quality of work is good. I have beautiful lines in my lawn. I have never met them and over the phone they are very professional. They say what they are going to do and they do it on time.
