They were punctual, professional, good at communicating expectations/updates, respectful of our home (took off shoes to come in house, put a lot of effort into prep, etc.) and their work was fantastic. We would definitely call them again and we would recommend them to friends.

+ 0 moreCerta-pro gave the better of two estimates. Since I had used them twice before with good results, I saw no need for a third estimate. Scheduling was difficult due to my health problems and travel plans, but they were extremely flexible and we did set the schedule for the very first day we were available. They arrived on time. Given morning traffic in our area, this was a surprise. There was a bit of friction at first due to some carelessness in dropping debris on the edge of the garden but no serious damage was done and I did not take them up on their offer to pay for anything I had to replace. Beyond that, they worked swiftly and did a fine job, taking the ceiling down to the rafters and covering with exterior grade plywood which they then sealed, primed, and painted. In fact, they painted all the woodwork on the porch which I had not expected. They did a full cleanup and removed the debris. The job foreman said he'd come back in a week or so to make sure the seams were properly sealed and do any touch-up that might be needed. I suspect there will be nothing for him to do.
Description of Work: Demolish ceiling (to rafters) of 70-year old unenclosed porch ceiling, build new ceiling, seal edge where it meets the stonework, paint, etc.

At the end of each day the only way you knew they were there was the work. No tools left in the space, no furniture out of place, not even dust from the prep work. In addition, Certa was very flexible in scheduling and understanding as there were many unforseen delays in my project. I will definately talk to Chris and his crew about my future painting needs. This is the third time, in 3 years, they have completed projects in our home.In our experience, it is simple to request an estimate. An appointment time can be requested on Chris' company website. Chris' estimate is detailed and delivered by email within hours, if not at the time of the appt.Chris offered the assistance of his color consultant, Susan Newcomer. This was one hour consult, free-of-charge. What a huge help! Money and time saver, and stress reliever! Usually, I buy 3 - 4 quarts of paint and "try them out." This includes harassing my husband for his opinion. Maybe we agree on one choice, but probably not. Susan gave us two color choices, including the design logic of each. We easily agreed to her suggestions.Prior to the paint crew arrival, an email is sent introducing the head painter for our job...including painter's photo. Fabio called a day ahead of arrival to make final arrangements. During the paint job, we found the painters to be neat, helpful, courteous, and amazingly quick. All work was done in 2 days. This also included a late request, on our part, to paint an additional family room wall.Yes, we will hire Certapro, again. Chris is coming to our home tomorrow to give us an estimate on our next project, the master bath. And the great part is, based on what we learned from Susan during her one hour visit, we already know our color choice. (We will have Susan, back, too.)We are extremely happy with the overall experience, including Certapro's very fair price for a high quality result.

+ 0 moreFrom the moment Chris came to give us an estimate, he inspired confidence and we felt sure that if we chose them the job would be done well. We were not disappointed. Erick, the foreman, did an amazing job! All of the work was done beautifully and precisely and Erick was very flexible in working with us when the first color we had chosen for our shutters was not to our liking. (As a bonus, Chris offers one free hour with a color consultant who helped us choose our interior colors. She was spot on as to what would work and we are so pleased with the resulting color combinations.) In addition to his quality work, Erick was also prompt and attentive and thoroughly cleaned the surrounding areas when he was finished. All in all, we could not have been happier with the work done, the professionalism of the company and its employees and the reasonableness of the price. We would definitely use this company again and have already recommended to family and friends.

+ 2 morePainters were able to start within a week of estimate. Work took two days. They arrived within 15 minutes of the agreed time and worked full days -- even into the dark on the second (and last) day of job. They asked permission (which was granted) to use bathrooms and clean brushes in basement sink. Except for some dusting needed in the bedroom and a few tracked-in paint scraps, they did an extremely clean job. They even removed tarps, etc. at the end of the first day so we were able to use the bedroom. Since they finished after dark, the foreman told me to walk around and inspect the next day and he left his cell number to call him directly if I found any problems -- which I didn't. Certapro was not the lowest price, but the differential was only about 10% and, based on the excellent work they did for us on a prior job, I'd have selected them even if the differential had been higher. Also I got a good year-end discount plus another $100 off for contributing to their "coat collection drive".
Description of Work: Exterior: scrape and paint fascia, trim, and a relatively small clapboard area; pressure wash previously painted porch woodwork; remove worn wood shutters on porch window and replace with plastic ones. Interior: remove paper and then paint bedroom ceiling; scrape and repaint bathroom shower ceiling with mildew-resistant paint.

+ -1 moreOverall, the paint job met my expectations in spite of a few glitches here and there. The important fact is that the job was well done and all consumer needs were met at a fair price as well as within a reasonable time frame.
Description of Work: Upper level shutters painted white..I had already painted lower level..simply could not reach upper shutters safely. Two painters were dispacted by owner of local Certa Pro Franchise to do the job...Owner, Matt Arnold, reported promptly after request submitted via Angie's List..did visual inspection of shutters and gave estimate...painters were scheduled in conjunction with another larger job to be done in my area. I made him aware that I had prior family commitments that were firm on the same date. He agreed that the painters would accommodate my needs. Painters arrived ( a bit delayed) and asked that I show them exactly what I would like done. I noted that 4 top shutters required white paint to match lower shutters already painted. Head painter asked to see container with label that described paint on lower level shutters...color, finish, etc. He then went out to purchase paint for top shutters...Once he returned, he and partner proceeded to sand shutters in preparation for painting...The shutters are relative fragile (plastic and aged)...Initially, one of the slats broke in the 1st shutter sanded....leaving a gaping hole. The painter suggested that repair could be made using a stirrer slat to be glued in place and painted to match as an immediate solution as opposed to replacing the entire shutter. I confirmed that I needed the shutter to appear intact as it did before painting started...Painter devised new shutter slat, painted all shutters ( with careful attention to gentle sanding) and completed the job leaving attractive curb appeal..Because of the extension of time required to repair the slat and a somewhat late start in general I had to leave before the job was completed. Therefore I had to make arrangements to mail the check for payment to the company..confirmed by telephone and e-mail. I was completely satisfied with the work done and would recommend the company to anyone who needs painting done in the future.

+ -1 moreUnfortunately, the wallpaper was hung without the proper preparation. The wallpaper was a bear to remove and the surface needed to be skim coated after the removal. No one could have anticipated how labor intensive this job would be. CertaPro did not charge any additional money for this work, a most pleasant surprise for me. I did not pay for the work until I was completely satisfied (the foreman spent another 1/2 day fixing imperfections and cleaning up after the crew had finished). I have hired many painters in the past, none of whom I would consider using again. CertaPro is the exception for me. CertaPro did a great job at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: I hired CertaPro to strip the wallpaper in my guest bedroom and repaint. They also painted my problematic chimneys outside.

He scheduled a visit right way, gave a very fair and competitively priced estimate and full description of how the job would be done. Communication with him was excellent, he was very professional, and contacted us several times to follow up. We finally decided that a total replacement the old stucco would be a more lasting investment than painting, so Certa-Pro did not end up doing the proposed work. Even so, I would certainly call them again if there was painting to do.
Description of Work: We received an estimate for painting and, although it was a good price, decided to replace the exterior stucco instead.

+ -1 moreIt was a good experience. They are going to come out and do some touch up work. It has been raining and the weather has been so hot, so we just haven't been able to schedule the touch up. I asked them to come back and follow up with a couple of things, and they were very willing to do so. The powerwashing was included in the pricing. They replaced some of the rotting wood. It brought the price up a little, but it was worth it. They want to make things right. They got to the job as soon as they could, but the weather played a factor in completing the touch up. They were responsive, and showed up when they said they would. I would hire them back, but I would be a more savvy consumer.
