Martella Electric

We had an issue when unplugging an item - the outlet buzzed loudly and sparked and we lost power to all outlets and lights on that same line (included 1/2 the kitchen.) I called Martella, they came out that day, arrived promptly at the scheduled appointment time. Terry started by inspecting the breaker box and explained to me exactly what he was looking at and why. He looked to the box itself for signs of rust, after taking the facing off, looked to see the wires were neatly affixed and that multiple wires were not attached were only one should be, etc... gave me piece of mind. He then worked on the "ground zero" outlet - explained why it failed and "fried" its breaker. Although mine is an older house/breaker box, he had a replacement breaker on the truck and was able to repair it. Terry was friendly and informative. He was thorough in his inspection and explain everything he was doing. I will absolutely use them again.

They are a little pricey but they are definitely worth it. They are trustworthy, provide great customer service, and totally reliable.

I had contacted Martella Electric, among others, to provide a service quote. I communicated several times with a woman named Kathy, who was very quick in her responses. Unfortunately, in my haste to read numerous responses, I missed a response for some pertinent information in one of Kathy's emails regarding an appointment. When the appointment date came and went without someone showing up at my home; I, inappropriately, responded in frustration to the company. Kathy didn't deserve my frustration but she was absolutely professional in pointing out that I'd never provided my phone number or home address and therefore, they weren't able to show on the date that had been scheduled. At this point, due to timing, I've had to select another provider; but due to Kathy's professionalism and fast responses, I would absolutely consider and recommend Martella Electric for future needs.

The electrician did a good job and he didn't leave any mess of any kind. He was also punctual. The service did seem a little expensive, but we didn't really have time to shop around so I'm not blaming the company.

Spent a couple of my very valuable hours with Rich to go over all the know and tube wiring in the house that needs remediation, installation of new circuits, trenching and installation of new circuit to detached garage, lighting, etc. A 5 figure job. Never got a quote. Emailed, called, was told I would get the quote the next day, it never came.

Mark was professional and took care to put down drop cloths as needed. Installed new switching to prevent future issues with old wiring.

Martella electric promptly returned my call and was accommodating for the appraisal visit. Richard came to visit and did an extensive 1 hr assessment of our residential job. This job is not a minor one day job of minimal profit. Richard said he would email me a quote within a few days. I called Martella back after 10 days, and again at 13 days and told them I had yet to receive any quote or emails. Martella has a reputation for service excellence, but their customer service has been horrible. I would advise against using their services.

All fixtures and outlets on a particular circuit in our house stopped working. Resetting the circuit breaker did not resolve the issue. Martella Electric was able to come out the same day and fix the problem (it turned out to be a popped neutral in the attic). The electrician was friendly and professional, and the work was completed in a timely manner.

Very well. We have used Martella for about 2 years now. We were so impressed after their 1st visit that we became members which allows a discount for future work. Martella employees are highly trained, professional, respectful, considerate, and helpful beyond the specific job. We have an older home and for the 1st time in years, thanks to their advice and work, we feel our home is safe and meets our electrical needs. We will continue to use them into the future and would recommend them to anyone. Only one drawback is that they may be a bit more expensive than other providers, but we feel they are well worth it.

Work provided was very professional and thorough. The company responded immediately when called and had a transparent pricing list for the job so you knew what the job cost before they started. The repairman was very clean and wore booties. He explained everything in detail and showed us visibility what he said was true. I would call this company immediately if I ever needed electrical services again. I highly recommend them to all.

I bought a house that could not be insured without a complete electrical overhaul. Martella was great. They were responsive and gave a detailed estimate plan. They worked diligently, always cleaning up daily, and installed extra outlets indoors and outside, in addition to changing fixtures in the price. It also included all the patching of the holes and total removal of old wiring. I would definitely recommend them!

The technician arrived on time, communicated clearly and provided a few options regarding making the repair. He completed the service in less than an hour.

Came same day I called. Needed a chandelier up stat, but since he was already coming, I took out my "wish list." He gave me a price for everything I asked, and I decided to have him do two more (not urgent) items also- great!

Andrew was quick to respond when called and set up an appointment that was good for us. Received an email prior advising who would be performing the work. The electrician appeared even before the scheduled appointment, introduced himself and before doing anything else slipped booties over his shoes. He looked over the work to be done and quoted prices. Came to trouble shoot blinking lights. Called to confirm, called to say they were on their way, showed up promptly at 1 P M. Scott introduced him self, told me the company's history, pricing structure and guarantees. Scott was very thorough in checking our entire electrical panel, wiring and electrical system in general. He explained all his work and checked with me before my incurring any cost. I was completely satisfied with the service, pricing and overall cleanliness and concern for my property. I would, without hesitation, recommend Martella Electric.

The individual did a good job. Satisfied with the perfomance and how it all went.

martella was hired by the company installing central air in my home which is an older, victorian era house. they discovered an improperly wired panel in the house. scott explained the situation. a new service was required to bring it back code. the installation was performed the next day at $300 less than the estimate. he also checked out the electric throughout the entire. they are not the cheapest, but you pay for what you get.

We have been using Martella Electric consistently since 1987. They are always the most professional, meticulous, hard working, & honest contractors we have ever had work in our house. They treat your home with respect and the job is done properly the 1st time. We have had to use them to come in when other electricians were used by a General Contractor who would not agree to using them. Then there were always problems which Martella would straighten up for us. They always stand behind their work. In the extremely rare instance where something hasn't worked as expected, they return promptly to identify the issue and fix it. They also have a checklist where they review your electrical system to make sure everything is working as it should. They were the first contractors I ever saw who wore booties on their feet & before that they were willing to remove their shoes or workboots if asked. I cannot say enough about how highly I would recommend them. I believe our continued use of their services over 25 years speaks for itself.

The circuit breaker for our first floor blew on a Saturday evening and I called Martella around 8:45pm. I chose Martella because I'd used them about 10 years ago for my last electrical repair. Their dispatcher said that they do emergency service and quoted me a price, which was $295, just to come out and take a look. When I accepted the price, she said that someone would call me soon with an estimated time of arrival. When she asked about the problem, I told her that the circuit breaker had blown and that there was an odor (which my neighbor explained is a normal thing when a circuit breaker blows). After not hearing back for an hour, I called again. The dispatcher said that she would message the electrician and that someone would call em back. No one did. Then I called an hour after that and the dispatcher called me back and said that if I smelled smoke, I should call the fire department. I said that maybe there was a misunderstanding, that the main problem was the circuit breaker and that there was no longer an odor. I probably called 5 or 6 times over the course of 4 hours and nobody ever told me whether they were or were not coming out. I finally gave up around 1 am, at which time it was too late to start with another company and wait for them to show up. Huge loss of food from my freezer and fridge.

Arrived on time and very professional, but extremely overpriced for what he did, and he really pushed us to buy unneccessary full-house surge protector.

They were excellent. They gave me a complete run down of all the work that was going to be done. More than just an estimate, they estimate what it would cost and there was no over runs and no complications and also they seemed to be very skilled electricians. The breaker and all the work done is holding up fantastic.

Not well. Didn't like the $69 charge for them to provide a description of the work I wanted them to do.

The electrician was very friendly and thorough. He spent over an hour examining the existing electric, opening sockets and discussing what he found. I explained that I wanted to update the knob and tube but not have any walls torn open or a complete rewire done. Despite that, I received a message on my phone two days later from the company to say that the work would cost between $20K to $25K. If I was interested, the electrician would come back out with a complete estimate to discuss with me in person. I'm sure that Martella does excellent work, but the scope of services they wanted to perform for this project was so out of align with what I requested that it wasn't worth me pursuing them as a viable option.
