hardwood floor
+ -1 moreAt first, we were worried that we wouldn't be able to use Long's again for our kitchen. We had used him to refinish our living/dining rooms and were very pleased. We called him repeatedly and left repeated messages, and he didn't call us back! Finally, I talked to his wife and asked for a referral, and she realized we were existing customers and felt terrible. Apparently, Long's was so busy that he couldn't return all the calls or take all the jobs (still, he should have). After talking to his wife, he was at our house within 24 hours. He gave a prompt estimate, and we hired him. He fit us into his busy schedule to make up for the trouble. He had several guys out to tear out about 7 layers of flooring, working like a well-oiled machine. They had it out and the new one down in one working day. The next day, they finished it, and he came back to finish it again after the kitchen installation.
Description of Work: They tore up the existing kitchen flooring (approx. 15 X 10 space), laid and finished oak floors to match living room and dining room flooring. This included leveling the floors to make the transition seamless. He also installed a small bit of shoe rail and a couple feet of threshold to slope between the kitchen and entry. Because our general contractor had dented up the floors very badly and basically ruined the beautiful new floors, Long's sanded again and refinished the floor in the kitchen AND the dining room for no extra charge. The only thing he didn't do that I wish we had paid him to do was dispose of the old flooring, which they left in neat bundles on our driveway.

+ -1 moreMr. Long arrived on time for an estimate, gave a very favorable estimate and was able to start in about two weeks. He and his crew arrived on time each of the two days for the job, worked independently with minimal mess (for floor sanding) and did a wonderful job. The floors look like new. We will be using them again in the future for the bedrooms and to install hardwood in the kitchen.

+ -1 moreWE CALLED LONG'S AFTER WE HAD TO FIRE ANOTHER COMPANY FOR LATENESS AND TRYING TO RAISE THE PRICE BETWEEN THEIR ESTIMATE AND WHEN THEY STARTED WORKING. LONG CAME OUT THAT DAY, GAVE US A LOWER PRICE OUR ORIGINAL ESTIMATE AND DID THE WORK OVER THE WEEKEND (MOST COMPANIES SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T GIVE US AN ESTIMATE FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND DO THE WORK FOR TWO TO THREE WEEKS). HE ALSO CAME OUT ON AN EVENING TO PUT IN SOME MOLDING THAT WE DECIDED WAS NECESSARY BETWEEN THE WOOD FLOORS AND A NEARBY MARBLE FLOOR. THE FLOORS LOOK AMAZING. WE PLAN ON USING HIM TO FINISH THE FLOORS IN THE REST OF OUR HOUSE LATER IN THE YEAR AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.
Description of Work: WE HAD THE CARPETS IN OUR LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM TAKEN UP AND THE UNFINISHED HARDWOOD FLOORS FINISHED AND SEALED. WE HAD A SHOE RAIL PUT UP ALONG THE WALLS AND MOLDING PUT IN BETWEEN THE FLOORS AND A MARBLE FOYER.

+ -1 moreMR. LONG AND HIS CREW WERE TERRIFIC, THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND COMPLETED THE JOB ON TIME. THEY WERE VERY REASONABLY PRICED CONSIDERING THE EXCELLENT WORK THEY DO. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS.
