Description of Work: We hired Greenstone to remove an old brick patio, replace it with a new EP Henry paver patio, fill in and level the yard, add a stepping stone path and paver pad for the trash cans, and resand an existing paver walkway. I really can't say enough good things about Greenstone. I met Mark Sr. less then a year ago. He is very professional, shared his expert opinion and gave me detailed information on how they put in new patios. His quote was competitive but his personality and professionalism won me over. When I was ready to move forward he came out to go over everything with me again, finalize pricing and schedule. We were on th books within 2 weeks and they even were able to start early. Mark Jr. was leading our job and his head guy, Javier, was on site every day. Both were extremely easy to work with. Javier went above and beyond to accommodate my family and make sure we were 100% happy. He and his crew were always on time, worked diligently and did an amazing job. I have never been so happy working with contractors as I have been with Javier, Mark Jr. and their crew. All of the work was finished timely and any concerns I had were addressed and fixed immediately. I highly recommend them and would work with them over and over.

Description of Work: I needed the following work done outside of the house which were a new fence, new retaining walls on two side of the house & new steps outside. Mark came out and we discuss what we wanted done and he knew exactly what we were visioning. The price included removal of the old wood fence, concrete retaining wall and the brick steps that had at least 11-12 steps & platform. He send us a awesome crew that was on time and very professional. It was big job but they completed it as promise. We now have a new PVC white fence all around the whole yard, new EP Henry stone retaining walls on the two side of the house which measures 100 ft by 30 feet on one side and 50 feet on the other side. And beautiful EP Henry steps that look amazing. I get alot of complements by the neighbors & family of how amazing the house looks. The price was a little more than want I want to pay but my wife felt it was all worth it. After seeing what they did through out the whole project I have to admit she was right. We had no problem what so ever with this company. We highly recommend them to anyone that wants something done the right way.

Description of Work: We are still in the process of having the work completed. A concrete patio(approximately 15 feet by 10 feet)and walkway were removed from the front of our house, along with a concrete hillside wall. The area is to be reconstructed with pavers. The driveway(12 feet by 30 feet) is to be resurfaced with asphalt. In addition, some re-pointing will be done on the brick portion of our garage, and a concrete wall area on our storage shed in the backyard will be resurfaced. It has been fascinating to watch steps taken to do the job. Their attention to detail appears to be very good. |This company was quite prompt in responding to my call. The owner was very personable and provided his estimate on his initial visit. He explained his recommendations after I talked about the work we wanted done. The workers were quite professional in the way they handled the job and how they left the property each day. So far we are happy with what we see. I will re-evaluate if anything changes before the job is thoroughly completed.

Description of Work: They constructed a 20 foot retaining wall alongside our driveway. They replaced the concrete apron in front of the garage doors. Also, they constructed a drain system to take rainwater away from the house.My only problem with all this was the quality of the cement work. It seemed rather amaturish and rough. They did their best to make it right and even discounted it somewhat, but I still feel it wasn't great. Overall, though we're happy with the job as a whole. The people were very nice.

Description of Work: They did a complete spring clean up, major strub and tree pruning, removal of dead tree and bushes, replacement tree and mulching. The beds look beautiful. Greenstone were easy to communicate with, responsive and aimed to please.

Description of Work: Created a new bed with river rock. Planted two trees and four grasses. Edged, weeded and mulched all other beds. They did a great job. Everything looks beautiful.

Description of Work: I called for an estimate for drain installation in a brick patio behind my rental home. (I live out of state and leave a key in a lock box.) I was told I would get a call when Mark goes to the property 4/9//15. When I did not hear anything by 4/14/15 I called and left a message. I received an email stating Mark was there 4/13/15 and would have me an estimate 4/16/15. When I did not hear anything by 4/20/15, I emailed. I received a reply that my street was too small to get a truck down and they could not do the job. The home is on a historic cobble stone street in Center City Philadelphia but 60 feet off o 13th Street. I emailed back and asked for someone to call to discuss with me my options and to explain why it took over a week to tell me they could not do the job. I never received a reply.

Description of Work: They removed some poorly trimmed bushes and landscaped our front walk and front of the house. When it turned out we needed more shrubs than were originally planned for, they let us have them at cost. Price was a little high, but you get what you pay for and their work was excellent!

Description of Work: The owner came to give me an estimate and he was absolutely wonderful and professional. He was punctual and went through all of the details for the work that I was hoping to have done. Unfortunately he was the highest bid I had and nearly 3 times as high as the lowest bid and one third higher than my second bid. While I would love to hire him as he was the most professional, I just do not have the funds to warrant paying that much more. If I did, he would be the provider I would choose. |

Description of Work: I used Greenstone Gardens to install an underground drainage pipe that runs the length of the yard in front of the house, as well as putting in a new garden out front and grading and seeding the front yard. The work was done as described with no surprises and on time. I also added on a small request on the day the work started which they completed at no additional cost. I worked with Mark Sr. to figure out the specifics of the project and get a quote. Mark Jr. was in charge when the work was actually done. Over the course of the project I called both Mark Sr. and Jr. with questions and both were very accessible and professional throughout. We are very happy with the outcome and would recommend Greenstone Gardens.

Description of Work: New Patio

Description of Work: In 2009 we hired Mark Howarth to build a retaining wall, patio, raised garden beds, vista pro lighting, fencing and steps in our back yard. He built everything with EP Henry products and the job turned out well. The hardscaping has held up beautifully and the shrubs he installed have done well. He also installed a cedar fence that is well assembled. The job ran over by approximately 1 week but it was a large scale project. Mark was prompt, communicative and detailed in his dealings with us. My only real complaint about the quality of the work was the clay soil they put in our raised garden beds. We were promised that the beds would be topped off with clean topsoil but the large bed in our back yard was finished with excavation fill (clay soil) from the rest of the hardscaping in the yard. I regret that i overlooked this detail. It has made gardening in the bed a little more difficult than I anticipated. The project ran over budget but that was because we kept adding on last minute details that we had not initially discussed. This made the final payment on completion much larger than I had anticipated. The Vista Pro lights work well but we seemed to be plaqued with frequent bulb burn out. The bulbs cost about $6 each. I probably should have asked about other options for lighting but this was what Mark reccomended. I would use Greenstone again but would probably include much more detail in the original estimate.

Description of Work: Greenstone removed our old cement front walkway and installed a new front walkway. The old walk went straight from the front door to the drive; the new walk has a beautiful curve and instead of cement is red brick colored pavers to match our house. They did an amazing job and the men who did the installation were hard working, polite and expert craftsmen.
