Description of Work: I needed a quote on getting my driveway repaired (rather than getting a whole new driveway). I was called by Anthony (I believe he's the owner) within 1 hour. We made an appointment for the next day. Anthony called to confirm the appt. Called when he was on the way and arrived on time. After looking at my driveway he told me I didn't need major repair work and he suggested several ways to fix it myself for much less. When my driveway finally needs to be replaced I will definitely call Anthony at DIO Construction first. There is nothing better than honest considerate contractors!

Description of Work: With a driveway that had not been resurfaced in the 37 years I have resided here, there was a desperate need. It is a long driveway and had a drain that needed to be improved, as well. I have neighbors in the paving business and I asked them three different times over two months to give me a bid. When they did not get back to me in spite of assurances they would, I moved on. I have known them since they were born and have little confidence in their work ethic, anyway. Other driveways in the development were just done by other contractors, en mass, and the workmanship was unimpressive. One drive-by contractor pushed the matter by offering to redo my driveway which he said he had done thirty years ago. I told him, I have been here 37 years and he did not do my driveway in that time. I allowed him to give me a quote which seemed to be too good a price. Wanting to get some idea of his reputation, we joined Angie's list. I was told the contractor with whom I had been talking was known to you but had no reports good or bad. After joining, I got some names and called DIO to ask for a bid. Pat, the owner, called me back within 24 hours, set a date and arrived right on time (if not a few minutes early). I like that. He told me what he thought the job should include and how he would do it. He was friendly and coincident has the exact same birthday as my wife, also Italian and born 65 years ago, same as him. Pat sent me his detailed bid and even allowing for the extra work of the drain was right on the earlier quote, thanks to his 5% Angie's list discount. He and his crew arrived right on time or a little early (I told you I like that) and Pat was hands on throughout and looked after every detail. That very night, we got deluged with rain. The driveway and drain were magnificent. No problems with runoff or puddling. Then as a final nice touch, Pat gave my wife and I each some DIO Construction tee shirts and hats. She also got some shorts. We will eventually be replacing our sidewalk. It is likely Pat will be our first choice to do that job, as well. James B. Davidson and Rosie Stumpf, Very happy customers.
