Description of Work: I called Windstream on Sept 6, 2016 to see about their prices for internet service. We keep getting a flyer in the mail stating that Windstream will give us "High Speed Internet" "For Life" for $59.99. On hold a very long time, new potential customer for them and right away I felt it was a bad idea. Talked with a rep about my needs, all said and done, after I turned down all their expensive add on insurances for "the wires and jacks in my house," or If I get locked out of my house Windstream will send a locksmith? WOW! Anyhow I get her down to $79 and change. This deal also includes Phone. She is unable or I would really say Unwilling to tell me what the total bill will be after taxes & fees! Another red flag. Fine, it was no contract, so I went with it, got the confirm # and hung up, forgetting to ask if we could keep the same landline # that we've had for 20 Years. So, I call back, the automated cp that gets you to a specific rep to talk or leave a message doesn't work, at all. Tried that numerous times. So I called the main # and had to go through a different rep to ask my question about keeping that phone #(waited on hold FOREVER) Finally get a new rep, explain what happened, give her the confirm # and low and behold the price jumps to over $93. Say what??? I figured it out, she had me back in the Gold Tier for Insurance protection on the wires in my own fricking house. Says I have to do some sort of automated phone call if I wanna keep my phone # the same since we're switching carriers and she also told me that someone from Windstream would call in 2Days with an appointment Date for them to get out here and hook this madness up. Fine, Cool, Great Lets do it - did my automated phone call, oh and by the way, I had to give one of these semi ghetto reps my SS #. They did a credit check to see if I required a deposit, which when it came back, I most certainly did not require a deposit. Anyway, they never called me back. Its October 22, 2016. After reading the horrible reviews about Windstream, I will totally stay faaaaar away from their uncaring attitude, less than mediocre service, high prices.( oh ya, here's another one, with my plan, I get a $50.00 cr with my first bill. WRONG - there's a $50.00 installation fee Ha ha ha) Burn in Hell Windstream! I see your sugar coated facade
