Not Well at all
Description of Work: I called Windstream on Sept 6, 2016 to see about their prices for internet service. We keep getting a flyer in the mail stating that Windstream will give us "High Speed Internet" "For Life" for $59.99. On hold a very long time, new potential customer for them and right away I felt it was a bad idea. Talked with a rep about my needs, all said and done, after I turned down all their expensive add on insurances for "the wires and jacks in my house," or If I get locked out of my house Windstream will send a locksmith? WOW! Anyhow I get her down to $79 and change. This deal also includes Phone. She is unable or I would really say Unwilling to tell me what the total bill will be after taxes & fees! Another red flag. Fine, it was no contract, so I went with it, got the confirm # and hung up, forgetting to ask if we could keep the same landline # that we've had for 20 Years. So, I call back, the automated cp that gets you to a specific rep to talk or leave a message doesn't work, at all. Tried that numerous times. So I called the main # and had to go through a different rep to ask my question about keeping that phone #(waited on hold FOREVER) Finally get a new rep, explain what happened, give her the confirm # and low and behold the price jumps to over $93. Say what??? I figured it out, she had me back in the Gold Tier for Insurance protection on the wires in my own fricking house. Says I have to do some sort of automated phone call if I wanna keep my phone # the same since we're switching carriers and she also told me that someone from Windstream would call in 2Days with an appointment Date for them to get out here and hook this madness up. Fine, Cool, Great Lets do it - did my automated phone call, oh and by the way, I had to give one of these semi ghetto reps my SS #. They did a credit check to see if I required a deposit, which when it came back, I most certainly did not require a deposit. Anyway, they never called me back. Its October 22, 2016. After reading the horrible reviews about Windstream, I will totally stay faaaaar away from their uncaring attitude, less than mediocre service, high prices.( oh ya, here's another one, with my plan, I get a $50.00 cr with my first bill. WRONG - there's a $50.00 installation fee Ha ha ha) Burn in Hell Windstream! I see your sugar coated facade

We use them on a daily basis. We have no issues. Their customer service has been fine. When I call them for any issues, they more or less fix them. But we have really had no issues since we started with them many years ago. Their responsiveness is good and they were here right away when we called them.
Description of Work: We are using Wind Stream Communications. They provide our satellite TV, internet and phone service.

I was scheduled to have my phone and internet installed between 1pm and 4pm. I received a call at 4 stating that I'd have to re-schedule. I called Windstream and told them I'd taken 1/2 day off work and that this was unacceptable. They found another installer who came to my house at 5:30 and did the install. had I not called to complain, I would have had to take another 1/2 day off work. They waived the installation fee when I complained. sometimes it pays to be the squeaky wheel!

Being in a very rural area, limited internet providers. So we are stuck with Windstream and they know it. Never has been fast, but last 2 months its downright unacceptable service. Constant dropped internet, like 5 times down service in an hour. Or as slow as dial up. Repeated calls to company and told there is a problem and they are working on it. Not told what the problem is and when it will be resolved. But, we are expected to pay the bill in full!

After many calls to customer service regarding the numerous drops in my internet service daily the company sent a tech to my home. The time frame for the service tech was very rather vague and I had to spend most of the day here waiting on the tech. The tech was professional and polite even though he was unable to determine the cause of our issue other than the old line that service this area which could be causing the issue.
Description of Work: Service call for dropped internet service.

First of all I had to buy the router $75. Then a monthly charge for phone and internet $86. The internet didn't work initially and I had to call service who told me that the seervice was turned on 4 days before I called. The phone and internet finally started to work but the router is very slow compared to the FIOS system I had in my previous address. The router drops out at least once a day, no internet connection, and I have to reboot. Package price more than I expected, more than my FIOS.

See above regarding the "services" provided, or, rather, lack thereof. There was no service call to the home. This company has been our internet service provider for years, and for 10 months has continually stated "we know we have a problem w/internet speed at your house (per technicians), and it's being working on, and will be fixed ...." and then there's a constantly changing date. But they refuse to give up service credit for more than 1 month, though their technicians acknowledge the problem is NOT at our end. Not only will they not give any additional credit, but said "we show no calls from you other than 1 month ago. You're lying about the other calls". We have ticket numbers, etc., dating back to March, 2012. Fortunately, they no longer have a monopoly in my area.
Description of Work: We've been w/Windstream for years, as--until recently--only service available in this rural setting. TERRIBLE IN EVERY WAY. Astoundingly lousy customer service (calling us "liars", "loosing" records of calls from us going back 10 months--only 1 month's worth really exists?!). Probably will switch to Verizon internet, since it's an option now, though speed no better. Windstream is apparently despised nationwide.

They are the only DSL service out here so I have to use them. They are horrible. I have high speed DSL that is slower than dial-up because they do not maintain their line. They do not care. They have come out last year and a year before that about 30 times a year but still they never corrected the problem. Even the technicians told me that until they do something with the line, that was as good as it could get. I pay them per month, for internet service it is $49 and for telephone service it is $38. I have gone as far as contacting their main office in Alabama but they never corrected the problem but they sent me a post card saying “Thank you for your contact we hope we have met all your needs.” Their service men and technicians are really nice but they cannot do anything because the company does not give them the money to upgrade the internet service out here. They respond all the time and are right out here. They know me by name that is pretty bad; I do not like that. I have to use them because I have no choice.
