See above. These guys had no clue of how to diagosis a probem much less than fix it. I do not recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I had a curcuit breaker tripping in the panel box. They identifed the rooms affected and then started replacing all the wall sockets without even doing a room survey first. After replacing 5 good sockets, they came across the problem.. a blown power strip behind a desk. $300 for a $20 problem plus ripping out all of those sockets for no reason.

This company obviously is trying hard to rip their customers off! Everything they do contradicts what they have written in their ads in the yellow pages. I talked to the service personnel's boss over the phone and he told me than HIS COMPANY IS BUSY SERVING OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY THAT AMOUNT-- A testament to their desire to make money at the expense of other people. This was inspite of the fact that the service personnel saw that we have a 1 month old in the house at 95 degrees indoor temperature.
Description of Work: My airconditioning system won't cool. The service personnel (ARRIVING OVER AN HOUR LATE!) diagnosed that the thermostat is causing the problem. He then suggested that I buy theirs for $425.00 dollars (obviously trying to rip me off), in addition to the $95 dollars that I have already committed in paying. I tried replacing it myself, and it's clearly not the cause of the problem. I finally called the original installer of the HVAC system and he fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes.

THE TWO GUYS WHO DID THE WORK WERE PLEASANT BUT (A) AFTER WORKING ON THE GFC CIRCUIT, PRONOUNCED IT TO BE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, WHEN IN FACT IT WAS NOT, (B) REQUIRED AN ADDITIONAL $100 TO COMPLETE THE WORK ORIGINALLY AGREED ON, AND (C) WERE UNWILLING TO INSTALL A 3-WAY MOTION-SENSOR SWITCH. THEIR SUPERVISOR, WITH WHOM I NEGOTIATED THE PRICE BY PHONE, ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR $500 BUT IMMEDIATELY DROPPED THAT TO $345 WHEN I SAID $500 WAS TOO HIGH. BEFORE THE 2 GUYS LEFT, THOUGH, I HAD TO AGREE TO PAY $445 TO GET THEM TO COMPLETE WORK (OR, AS THEY SUGGESTED, FINISH IT MYSELF). AFTER FILLING OUT A QUESTIONNAIRE THE COMPANY LATER SENT ME, I WAS REFUNDED THE EXTRA $100.
Description of Work: REPLACE TWO OUTLETS ON A GFC CIRCUIT. COMPLETE INSTALLATION OF A 3-WAY SWITCH.

I CALLED 215-673-6500 FOR ADVANCED ELECTRIC (ON ANGIE'S LIST) AT NOON AND WAS CONNECTED TO LARRY AT ELECTRIC PRO--THEY ALSO OWN ADVANCED ELECTRIC. THE ELECTRICIAN ARRIVED AT 3 PM. THE PRICE TO REPLACE THE METER SOCKET $1400. I CHALLENGED HIS ESTIMATE, BUT LARRY SAID THAT WAS THE PRICE AND NO BREAKDOWN WOULD BE PROVIDED. I RELUCTANTLY AGREED TO THE ESTIMATE AS IT WAS ALREADY AFTER 3 PM AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE 90'S AND IT WAS UNHEALTHY TO BE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING MUCH LONGER (BOTH MY WIFE AND I ARE SENIORS-I AM IN MY 70'S-AND WE BOTH ARE ON MEDICATIONS). THE SOCKET WAS INSTALLED IN TWO HOURS. ON 8/1 I FAXED MY $700 ESTIMATE TO LARRY AND ASKED HIM TO REDUCE THE $1400 CHARGE TO A MORE REASONABLE AMOUNT. HE CALLED ON 8/8 AND SAID THERE WOULD BE NO REDUCTION. ON 9/7 I FAXED THE OWNER AND REQUESTED AN EXPLANATION OF THEIR $1400 CHARGE AND REQUESTED THEM TO VOID THE ONE-YEAR WARRANTY COVERING THE METER SOCKET INSTALLATION AND REFUND ME THE $100 CHARGE FOR THE WARRANTY.
Description of Work: PECO CABLE POWER FAILURE ON SATURDAY 7/30/05. THE PECO TECHNICIAN STATED I MUST REPLACE MY OUTSIDE METER SOCKET (ESTIMATED COST $700).
