Aaron and crew were GREAT. Craftsmanship is top notch. His understanding of structures, supports and design is excellent. It especially came in handy on the front deck that sits on top of the front porch of my hose. The porch roof was held up by 2 decorative tapering wooden posts that were build many years ago. At one time, Aaron ascertained, a third post had been in the middle and was removed for an unknown reason. Wanting to add an extra measure of stability to the new deck above, Aaron built a new post that looks identical to the other 2. I won't bore you with details, but because the older posts were made years ago, certain wood thicknesses were no longer easily available, but he went above and beyond to create a strong new post that DID match extremely well. The front deck is fantastic also. This will be my first year enjoying them. I cannot recommend Extreme Decks enough - they are TOP NOTCH and their pricing is VERY competitive. My home is being painted on the exterior in the next couple of months afterwhich I will take some nice pictures of the decks and post them here.

These guys are amazing. Aaron arrived on time for the estimate. His team is very professional, focused, and excellent craftsmen. The project was completed in two days and the work site was left cleaner than when they arrived. Our new decks and pergola are much nicer than the original. Finding these guys makes Angie's list membership a great investment.

Aaron as his team are about as good as they get. Despite their informal communication process (you talk directly to Aaron) and he comes out for an estimate himself, they hold to their word with efficiency and professionalism. You'll get a straight-up, no fluff estimate and quote and then they'll show up and do their thing with amazing speed and quality. These guys are a great find.

Aaron Karas owner of Extreme Decks who's business we found using Angie's List gave us the "A" rating he most certainly deserves! When I placed a call and left him a message to get a quote he responded immediately in returning my call. We set up a time for him to come over and look at the job and with complete confidence gave us a quote and assurance of the design we wanted built to code that the township requires. Aaron did not ask for any money deposit down and said we could pay him when the job was completed and we were happy!!!! How many contractors do this? A crew of 4 started the project on 3/16/2014 and completed it on 3/20/2014! They worked in a mix of rain, snow and cold weather and never stopped except for the hot coffee I served them. These men have been working for Aaron for years and you can see it in their teamwork together. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND EXTREME DECKS for all your decking needs!! They also do roofing and front porches and most home improvement projects!

This the best deck building company in Pittsburgh. Aaron is fast. His team does great work. My deck looks fantastic. And his prices are fair.

Aaron was able to come out to give me an estimate very quickly. He was professional and his prices were very competitive. He and his team were able to come back within a few weeks to put up the deck and completed the project within two days. The deck is of great quality and looks fantastic. I have been using Aaron and his crew for 9 straight years. We have a project just about every year and I would not consider using another contractor. While decks are their specialty, they are capable with just about any type of construction project. We used Aaron for decks, bathrooms, kitchen and bedroom remodels. This crew always shows up when they say they will and they work until the work is done. I have given them some pretty challenging tasks with very tight time constraints and they always come through. These guys are trust worthy, courteous and friendly. My kids consider them part of the family. I am difficult to work with and I am difficult to please but these guys deliver. You will not find better deck builders in the Pittsburgh area, but I would consider Aaron for just about any home construction job.

He did an excellent job. They showed up when they said they were going to be there and they finished the job in one day like he said he would and i paid him what he said he wanted and they are pretty good as well.

Aaron and his team were great to work with. They were very prompt, punctual and quoted me the correct price. work was done in 3 days and done very well. i have received many compliments on my deck since then. Great job. I would highly recommend them.

I contacted Aaron and scheduled several meetings and he always was a no show. If you don't want to babysit don't use this company.

We couldn't have found better service! Aaron came to the house gave us a quote showed us some samples and gave us an estimated date. They were very competitive on pricing and their quality is very high. With the replacement a few items outside the original scope were in need of repair and instead of just doing it and billing later, I received a phone call of what was found and an estimated (almost exact) cost was given. They arrived when they said they would and worked until the job was completed. My roof was replaced in 1 day and they took the existing roof so I had nothing to do but enjoy the job was done! We also used Extreme for our deck in 2010. We had our existing deck surface boards replaced with trex decking as well as added stairs to the ground. Aaron was able to determine that we needed another support because the original deck had an addition to it that was not completed to code. This was not a one day job but they worked as long as the sun was out and we had a party coming up in a week, they made sure it was done and safe for the party. I also was looking for a different railing system than available with trex. I like the flat surface as the railing so if you need to set your cup down you can. They created one for me with surface boards and other trex products. Looks fantastic and 3 years later it is still gorgeous!

Aaron returned my call in minutes , Came to my house to look at the job the following day and completed the work two days later. He wasn't out to over sell and pricing was acceptable. The work was exactly as agreed to. I highly recommend Extreme Decks.

Very efficient and responsive. Completed the work as requested and on time with no surprises. Project took 5 days. Workers were professional, proficient and maintained a clean work site. We are very pleased with the results and would recommend this contractor to family and friends.

We love the job that Aaron and his crew performed. They were very professional and the deck exceeded our expectations. They were kind, professional and respectful of our home and family. Extreme Decks and Roofing came and gave an estimate but he never followed up by email or phone.

The overall experience with this company was terrific.

Aaron came over to give me an estimate on the deck. I saw that his truck said "Decks and Roofs". I asked him for an estimate on the roof work, which other contractors, in the past, either "Hemed and Hawed" over or never actually got around to doing. He looked at it, said, "That's no big deal. We can go up and do that." I'm not afraid of heights, so I climbed out a window and watched his guy work -- he was amazing. He was very neat and careful in removing the old sheathing, and very skillful in rebuilding the sheathing. I couldn't believe it when called to get the matching shingles, rather than using something from the back of his truck. In the end, the original problem was fixed, sagging in the area was gone, and it looked --perfect-- visually. After seeing that work, I asked Aaron about a problem on the steep, high, main roof. It had been patched years ago -- but never properly repaired and was a time-bomb. I wasn't home this time, but the results were, again, absolutely fantastic. The shingle match on the outside was perfect and everything lay flat and tight. And, from the inside, the sheathing was perfect. I don't know how he did it from the outside. But, other than the fact that the wood is new, you can't tell it from the original. Before it was over, the project came full-circle, and I had them do the fornt porch we had originally discussed, including the stairs. I did not have a porch before, so Aaron had to design it from scratch, without us even having the benefit of an old porch as a starting point for the discussion. I also had some fairly peculiar requirements in terms of how I wanted the stairs to work, how I wanted it to interface with the house (I wanted an exisitisting covered entry area raised and incorporated into the porch), and I wanted it free standing. The result was truly beautiful. Aaron was dramatically good about asking me about all of the decisions and helping me to figure out what I wanted. He was great, always smiled, and was eager to please -- even about little things I pestered him about during the construction -- He even went out of his way to do what I wanted -- even when I changed my mind about how I wanted the stairs to work mid-construction. All of the projects were executed quickly once started. He showed up with huge teams to move the materials, and had a crew the right size for each job, so that everyone was working hard and the job moved lightning fast -- but no one was standing and loitering around. This guy is definitely on my list for roofing -- and porches, too. A+++++++ I cannot imagine a better contractor.

Great service, decided to do business after looking at competitive bids from several others. The finished product looks great and has received several compliments from the neighbors so far.

The deck attached to my house by the prior owner was sagging as the band board had slipped off the support. Extreme Decks promptly returned our call and gave us a prompt and very reasonable estimate. Other contractors we called either didn't return our calls or only wanted to rebuild the deck from scratch. A new deck wasn't necessary; just a small repair. Extreme Decks even came out on a Saturday to get it done quickly. They did a great job and when the time comes to upgrade they will be on the top of our list.

So far, so good. I'm sure it will give us many happy years of good use.

I would recommend Extreme Decks for anyone looking for a custom deck. Aaron and his crew were fast, courteous, and produced quality work. Aaron took the time to show us his portfolio of decks they have built, listened to our ideas, and gave us a spot on estimate for all work. The price was in line and actually a bit cheaper than other estimates we received. We wanted a deck built to replace the existing small 4'x8' standard deck on our townhouse. I basically scribbled my idea on a napkin and they made it happen. We ended up building a 10'x10' deck, with a privacy fence, that would support a hot tub, a step down (approx. 8") from a main 12'x12' deck for our patio furniture and grill. They cut no corners, and poured the proper footers, had them inspected, etc. to ensure proper support for the extra weight of the tub, water, and people. Our deck is 2 years old now and it is as solid as the day they finished. We have had zero issues with the deck thus far, not even a single screw that had backed out. All we have done is stain and seal the deck and we couldn't be happier.

We wanted to repair our wooden deck and we wanted wood. We had spoke to several other contractors but everyone tried to talk us out of wood and into the trex type product. Extreme Decks were happy to work with wood. They promptly came out and gave us a bid. It was several months before they could begin the work (our scheduling issues, not theirs). They started the work and completed it within 5 days. They were clean and neat. They followed our design and did not give us a "cookie-cutter" deck. We are so happy with the work that we would hire Arron and his crew again.
