Description of Work: I needed a roof repair. After several calls, he promised to come out in the morning. I called and asked when he would arrive as I had a doctor appointment that afternoon. He said he would look at the roof in my absence, if I was not at home. He sent me an estimate for new roof. I called him and told him I needed a repair. He said he would come out on Saturday. He never came. I called another contractor and got the roof repaired. I will use another contractor for the new roof.

Description of Work: We invited Extreme Decks to give us an estimate on rebuilding the wooden part of our front stoop. Given the historical nature of the existing structure, we explained that we wanted them to remove and replace only the rotted support posts and to leave a decorative upper portion in place. | |Several weeks later the team chose to work on this project when I could not be at home. That was great because it got the project done faster. However, due to poor communication amongst the team, much that should have stayed in place was removed. After several phone calls, they came out the next day to reinstall the upper portion. | |I put a check in the mail to them the next day, as soon as we had seen the finished stoop. | |The final result was still not exactly what I had requested, but I was satisfied with this outcome until several weeks later when owner Aaron Karas contacted me to say that he had not received our check. I told him that it had been mailed and he said that he would check another location where it could have been put. I asked him to let me know right away if that did not resolve the issue. | |More than a week later Aaron called to say that he had not located the check. He wanted to pick up cash the next day. I told him that this was not possible, but that I would cancel the original check and get him a new one right away. This caused him to raise his voice and to use a tone that made me feel unsafe. He made several points: |-That this was a cash job to begin with (It was not. For safety reasons, I never hire contractors who require cash.) |-That all of this could have been avoided if I had just left the cash on our stoop for him on the day the work was done, as allegedly requested (I think it's likely that had I done that, the original incorrect work would never have been corrected.) |-That I was giving him the "run around" by not agreeing to have him stop by my workplace the next day to retrieve a cash payment | |I do realize that it may have seemed to him that we did not intend to pay him and that the time that had passed could have made it feel urgent to him. However, I cannot recommend a contractor who has made his customer feel threatened. |

Description of Work: They did not show up when they told me they would. They called me and told me they could come out the next day. I told them "I'll find someone els. Thanks anyway."

Description of Work: He was 2 1-2 hours late for meeting for estimate. I had to cancel because of other appointments.

Description of Work: I was extremely pleased with Aaron and his workers. I have recommended them to my family and friends, and would not hesitate to call them again. |They were reliable, punctual, and did a nice job. Aaron either stopped by, or contacted me by phone each day, to make sure that I was pleased with the work that had been done.

Description of Work: I selected this provider from several bidders to rebuild a deck for several reasons. Of the bidders we contacted, Aaron Karas seemed the most knowledgeable about the process of navigating honestly and ethically the complex permitting process in the City of Pittsburgh. He also seems to be highly skilled at envisioning and designing what will actually work in the space given to work with. He offered several different options at different prices for the work to be done, leaving me the choice of what and how much I wanted done, rather than padding the bid with extras that I might not be able to tell I didn't truly need. He seemed extremely knowledgeable about the technical aspects of what needed to be done. As a result not only was his the actual low bid we received, but I accepted it with the confidence that it was also the bid that best fit our actual needs for a safe, soundly-constructed, aesthetically-pleasing structure. | | Aaron handled the paperwork with the city and timely informed me of some additional steps I was required to take in order to secure a permit. Throughout the project he was always willing to take time patiently to answer any questions I might have. While I had to initiate most (but not all) of the communication about timing of the work on the project, I found him always very responsive to a text message asking for information. The work itself was accomplished very competently, and within the time promised. During the project Aaron modified the bid to accomplish some additional repairs to an adjoining porch area at a very reasonable and fair price. | |The deck is extremely solid in construction and looks great. Aaron and his team did an outstanding job for us. I would hire him again without hesitation. I would unreservedly recommend him to any reader.

Description of Work: Extreme Decks & Roofing built a covering over my old deck and re-did the railings.

Description of Work: they replaced an old deck and placed a roof over the deck and electrical outlets along with lights. IT IS GREAT TO WORK WITH AARON AND HIS CREW. I will use them again for future projects. With extreme the work is done when you are pleased. THEY TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK AND FIXED THINGS WHEN SOMETHING DID NOT MEET THEIR LIKING. THEY GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PLEASE YOU.

Description of Work: Above and beyond the call of duty! They kept their word on every detail. They worked so hard and so professionally. They finished right on time and the deck is gorgeous. A+++ by my book.

Description of Work: Extreme Decks removed a 30-year-old wooden boardwalk from 3 sides of the house, and replaced with Wolmanized lumber. It was a challenging project with the slopes around the house. They set posts in concrete, framed the entire project, and screwed on the floor boards. As we requested, they widened the walk from 30 inches to 48, and reduced the number of steps in one area. We have a family member who is legally blind, so they also changed the angle of the flooring every time they put in a step or change of elevation - a nice touch we hadn't thought of. They worked around trees, basement access door and under porch storage doors. The crew worked clean. Several months later we have not found any stray screws or trash at all.
