We install new concrete anywhere and we specialize in decorative and stamped concrete. We are a small company with 6 employees. We do only ONE job at a time. We do not use subcontractors. We are licensed by the PA Attorney Generals Office. We offer free estimates and request no money prior to the project initiation.
After accepting Rob's proposal for our concrete work at the end of June he said he should be able to get to us in August. He would reach out to us a couple of weeks before to let us know. August arrives and we do not hear from him. We called multiple times, leaving numerous messages and sent an email. Finally after calling for over two weeks he finally picked up and said he was busy and behind schedule. He seemed annoyed I was calling him. He said that when we accepted his proposal we "weren't in a hurry to get it done". We were willing to wait to get the work done but we need communication to tell us he was behind. All we needed was a phone call or an email stating he was behind and he wouldn't be able to get to us. Instead of ignoring our phone calls and emails. He said he would probably be able to get to us in September. I said that was fine but we needed communication. We asked that he please let us know. September rolls around and once again we have not heard from him. We reach out in an email. We asked if he was going to be able to get to us by the end of the year. He said his schedule has only gotten worse and he was having problems with his truck and did apologize but didn't know if he would be able to get to us by the end of the year. So some how, it went from being able to help us in about 6 - 8 weeks, but now he couldn't even promise he would be able to help us within 6 to 8 months! After confronting him on this he withdrew his proposal. Curpscapes lacks communication skills, time management, and professionalism. I understand things come up but a call or email was never sent to us. So clearly our time and money were not important, and with that attitude I would hate to see how their actual work was handled and executed.

great job, all things done on time and in budget
Description of Work: expand existing patio and install french drain in yard
Rob and his team were great to work with. They removed part of our fence to bring in equipment and put it back just as it was previously. They explained everything beforehand, pointing out a couple of items we needed to make decisions about and providing guidance along the way. Rob also moved all our deck wiring, which was out of the scope of the project - but which we very much appreciated. The patio is beautiful, the sitting wall is great. We are very pleased with the project and would recommend Curbscapes.

Totally a waste of my time and effort.
Description of Work: At the beginning of may I contacted Rob and he came very quickly to give me a price. I accepted his proposal a week later. He never responded to my email. I had to send him 2or 3 emails before he said he would do the job. When I asked him he kept putting off the date and said he would do it when he got to it, but would never gave me even an idea when it would be done. I emailed him several times and he would not get back to me until the second or third email because he said that was very busy and just couldn't give me an estimate date. When I called him on the phone he did'nt respond until I sent him multiple emails asking him to resond to me, Finnally he got back to me and was extremely rude in a condescending tone and once again he would not commit himself to a time period. Finally I said that if he couldn' do it by the end of June to forget about it and he never called me back. This was a one day job so I guess it was very low on his prior ty list. He shouldn't have accepted thee job in the first place. I would definitely not recommend him to anyone.

Rob, the owner, was extremely helpful, thoughtful, patient and friendly throughout the process of redesigning and completing our difficult concrete project. He was punctual for all appointments and professional in his communication. He provided a written estimate and contract within a week of our first meeting and always called me throughout the process to check if I was satisfied with the work and to ask my preferences in decisions he had to make. When the project began, I had hopes of having the entire front of the house redone but the cost turned out to be prohibitive. Curbscapes estimate was right on target with others that I had gotten, but the way Rob communicated with me and the ideas that he had to decrease the price but not the quality of the work put his company way above the rest. He was very understanding of our budget and found a creative way for us to repair what was already there, and thus to have a stable and secure structure with the look of new construction. The work took about 3 weeks to complete and had many challenges along the way that Rob had to conquer. He always stayed positive about how it was going to look in the end and found creative ways to resolve each problem (that were all out of his control and had to do with the previous structure and foundation). Even when he found a pure concrete wall from the early 1900s under the old stucco facade, he found a way to cut it and put concrete block on top of it so that it turned out exactly how we envisioned it! When the concrete was complete, he subcontracted with another company to do the final stucco covering and they also did fantastic work. In the end, the front of our house looks incredible. Several neighbors have gone out of their way to come over and compliment us on the work. I sincerely believe that we hired the best company for the project and that very few companies would have had the expertise, creativity, and patience that it took to complete this job. Thanks again Rob, it looks great!!
Description of Work: We had several large retaining walls and sets of stairs that were crumbling away in the front of our house. Curbscapes added an additional Versa-lok retaining wall to create 2 large planting beds, repaired/replaced the large concrete wall that was at the street level, poured a new set of stairs, poured a new sidewalk to connect our basement door to the new stairs, and subcontracted to have a stucco covering put on all of the front surfaces to tie in the color of the old and new concrete.

I really don't bother with unresponsive contractors. If the effort isn't there from the start, what are they like during and after they have your money? I'm rather understanding that they have many customers and have no problem working with that, or if the project is too small, let me know. No response though, is not professional.
Description of Work: Installing a patio in place of a deck. Rob called back a few days after I first called and came out the next day since he was doing work in our neighborhood. After reviewing and measuring for the project he said he would email the quote. Never heard from him again.

I had numerous estimates done on having a driveway put in and replacing the steps as well as adding a small sidewalk and patio. Curbscapes was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I choose to work with them after meeting Rob, the owner. He was punctual in his appointment to come take measurements, give me his ideas and concerns, and afterwards sent me a quote within a week or so. When he showed up, he arrived on time, clean in appearance, with proper utensils to take measurements and record them, several pictures of decorative concrete he had done, and when he left, he was on his way to watch his daughter play in a soccer game. (Some of this might not be important to others, but I took it as a sign that he was a family man and would show up on time, be mindful of our time and work respectful hours to accomodate a family with a baby in the house) After viewing a number of his reference works in person, I was impressed with the designs and decided to use his company for our work. Rob was fairly busy this spring/summer, so timing was somewhat disappointing. We would have liked to have had it done for our son's first birthday party where our very large family would all be seeing our house for the first time. That being said, I think it is the only complaint I can come up with! He showed up at appropriate times every day and they let me know if they would or wouldn't be there the next day due to weather conditions or allowing the pavement to set for a few days or what ever else. His employees were young but very friendly and respectful (one of them loved seeing our son everyday playing outside and would always take a moment to say hi to him and play around a bit). They cleaned up their mess every single day. My husband is a teacher so he was home most of the time of the project since it was summer. Halfway through, though, he broke his ankle and had to have surgery. The guys were all mindful of him and were able to let theirselves in the garage and house to use the restroom and everything without my husband having to get up everytime. I rated Curbscapes with a "B" for price, as I said earlier, they were not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. And also for punctuality as the initial start date slid back a few times. I rated them an "A" for quality, and this was the most important category to me when spending this much money. I was, and still am, impressed with the work done. Every single person who has visitted my house since the work was done has complimented the look and quality of our driveway. And this includes my neighbor, who I later found out also has a busniess that performs this work. I did not know that at the time, but if one contractor compliments another, it must be good! Also for responsiveness, as Rob always answered my messages or emails promptly. And Professionalism, because they were clean, prompt, and responsible. And most importantly, overall rating is an "A". I've always heard "you get what you pay for" and in this case, I am happy we chose to spend a little bit extra and go with Curbscapes over the cheaper options. As long as this concrete holds up over the years, I don't think we could have found someone who could have done a better job! Rob is more than welcome to give our address out as reference for potential customers to see his work in person. We're quite a few miles from where his business is located, but it's worth the drive! (But please excuse the rest of the yard!) :)
Description of Work: We moved into a house that was less than 10 years old, but had been vacant for a number of years. Due to the vacancy, upkeep had not been performed on the front steps, and the ground had settled around the house, allowing the steps to sink and detach from the small front porch. From the steps, there were a few broken pavers that led to an unkept gravel driveway. The entire yard was very uneven and in places had steep slopes. When Curbscapes arrived to do the work, I ended up having a driveway with two car side parking pad, sidewalk, small patio, step and walkway to the side garage door, and new steps done. Plain, swirled design concrete was used for the main portion of the driveway, sidewalks and walkways, and steps. Decorative, stamped and stained, concrete was used for the patio and edges of the driveway. I believe the stamp design was called "Ashlar Slate" and I had it done in a dark grey.

Rob poured a new stamped concrete front porch and sidewalk at our house. He was very professional and listened to what we wanted. When my husband and I were unsure of what type of stamped pattern we wanted to use, he gave us addresses of past clients in our area so that we could go and look at his work and see the different patterns ahead of time. That really helped us to make a decision. We decided to go with the "granite" stamp in a medium gray. Rob recommended a color that would go well with our house. We are very happy with the finished product. It looks great. We love the color and the design. Rob and his crew were very easy to work with. They also cleaned up everything every night. There was never debris or garbage laying around. We would definitely use Curbscapes again in the future and would recommend them to family and friends.

Their price was good. I will not use them in the future.
Description of Work: I used Curbscapes in April of this year. They did a garage floor and some patch work on the driveway after we had some borderline work done.
Rob and his crew did an excellent job removing and replacing an existing driveway in the front of my house. He promptly responded to my request for an estimate and provided a wonderful finished product. The driveway abuts a walkway of pavers. He removed the layer of pavers that abutted the driveway to not damage them and replaced them raising them up since they had sunk over time. When the driveway was completed, he brought in topsoil to replace that which was lost along the edge of the driveway. He even replaced a sprinkler line that broke when the old driveway was removed. Since the project took longer than was expected, Rob even worked on Saturday and Sunday to complete the project. During the project, several of my neighbors inquired about Rob doing work for them. I would highly recommend Rob and Curbscapes.

This was a tough job and I could not have picked a better company to have completed the work! I have the prettiest sidewalk in the world! Rob and his men came to our house early in the morning and started right to work. They dug up the old stone sidewalk, used wood slats to make a new and beautifully curved sidewalk. They poured the concrete and came back the next day to finish the job. They added a layer of color and I now have the classiest looking curved sidewalk in all of Peter's Township! It's beige and matches our house perfectly! I have only seen these types of sidewalks in movies and in magazines and this one is just as pretty! They picked up all their tools and put everything back into it's place. Needless to say, I'm thrilled!
Description of Work: We had a decorative sidewalk poured.
