Gary repaired multiple holes/cracks in the foundation of our home. In addition, he washed, repaired and sealed our cement driveway. He spent the majority of his time pressure washing the driveway in detail. This was a key step and definitely restored the driveway to like-new condition before he repaired many cracks and other damaged areas. Then he sealed the driveway by rolling on sealer for extra protection. All in all, the driveway looks great! We are very pleased with the quality, attention to detail and the final products. Gary was great to work with and even promptly returned my call weeks later when I had a question about cleaning the driveway after a spill. He's a good guy who does great work. We highly recommend his services.

Worked out just fine in the end. Initially, the new pole was not primed or secured with a top piece similar to what had been there. When we called about this, the contractor readily came back within a day or two and completed the finish work. Very professional, prompt. Does all own work.
Description of Work: Existing Steel support on back porch was rusted out and existing post had to be cut out and new base installed for new steel support. Where concrete was missing in ( 2 ) areas, it was drilled, bonding agent applied and polymer modified concrete applied.

Our front steps have been steadily crumbing and falling apart for the last couple years. We thought we would have to get them replaced for sure and sought 4 quotes from different companies on both replacement and repair. Gary was the only one who was even willing to do the repair, which was a lot cheaper than replacement! He was very confident he could do the job well, was punctual and professional in giving the quote, and gave the best price, so we hired him. He came within a week of giving the quote to do the repair and came back a couple days later to do the finishing work on the steps. The steps look almost brand new now and Gary gives a 2 year guarantee for any cracks or anything. He was very pleasant and professional, and did good work at a reasonable price. We would definitely hire him again.

Gary came and gave an estimate after giving several options for the repair. He was knowledgeable but not pushy. I found his bid a good one and set a date for the work. He promptly came on the date set, power washed the floor, filled in the cracks, and applied a sealer. He also suggested a paint to use on the untreated section of the garage floor. Gary is professional and easy to deal with.

Summary: Showed up on time on all appointments. Professionally submitted estimates with tasks to be done itemized. Responsive initially, but hard to get in touch with for follow-up (when I had indicated dissatisfaction with job to that point) Quality of work - maybe up to standard for this type of job, but less than we expected. ------------------------------------ DETAILS: Gary Salerno (The Crack Team) responded quite promptly to my initial call, and set up appointment to come make an estimate. He arrived on schedule (May 10) and made a clear written estimate to do the repair job we had in mind. Two other concrete contractors made competing estimates, but felt it would be necessary to replace the whole porch slab and gave estimates to do that. (Doing that would involve more than 3 or 4 times the cost of repair that Mr. Salerno proposed.) We decided to go with The Crack Team's bid. We contacted him and set the date (June 10) for work to begin. Gary Salerno arrived on time June 10 with assistant (Bob) to begin the work. I paid him $500 (half the contract price) at the start, the balance to be paid on completion. Most of the job was completed that day, with the final coat to be applied after the core had dried. He returned on June 15 and applied the final coat and was paid the $500 balance. There were arrangements that he would call me at a later date (the beginning of the next week, after we could walk on the surface and check it out) to make sure everything was satisfactory and to set a date for making an estimate on some additional work on a wall crack, front steps and porch railings that we had in mind. When we could walk on the repaired porch, we realized that the surface was not at all what we had expected - the light/dark color of the surface was totally uneven, and the surface was irregularly grooved in a non-descript way. The expected follow-up call from The Crack Team did not come, and my numerous calls to his office phone and cell phone went unanswered for a long time. (My notes indicate attempts to call him on July 9th and July 22. I know I tried several other times). Gary finally returned my call sometime after July 22, and we made arrangements for him to come and check out what had to be done to finish the job and make an estimate on the additional jobs. He came (as scheduled) on July 28, indicated he would be able to finish the surface of the concrete repair job (we set the date August 9th) and he made a formal estimate on the additional jobs ($1900 for the whole set of jobs - not priced item-by-item). August 9th, Gary arrived and applied a smoothing coat on the surface of the original area. It was better than before, but still not the smooth surface I had expected. I told him that and he explained that that level of grooving and irregularity was to be expected in a thin, feathered repair patch of that sort. After the final finish dried, I have started using a concrete block to smooth the surface of the large patch, and that seems to be improving it. I have decided to put off the additional jobs, some of them really being jobs for painters, others for Iron-railing specialists, and others requiring concrete & masonry patches.
Description of Work: Filled sunken area on front porch on 8' x 10' area. Power-washed area, applied bonding coat, filled with polymer concrete from 2.5" (at deepest sunken section) and feathered to edges.

I was contacted by his partner to take a look at the property on Hallock Street. I don't think this guys were on the same page. After talking to his partner on Monday, I went out to take a look at the property. There was a mixup between both of them. My company does not keep this rating by not returning phone calls. I do apologize for the mixup.

This was unquestionable the best repair experience I have ever had. They were so professional, careful with my carpet, and creative in finding an effective solution. At first they seemed like detectives figuring out why the sub basement was so damp. The solutions really worked.
Description of Work: My new old house had a dampness and mold problem. The crack team improved the drainage around my house with some concrete which redirected the water flow going into the sub basement, as well as patched a few cracks on the steps adjacent to the foundation where water could have penetrated the foundation. They also installed a humidex system in the sub basement. Since then, I have not had trouble with the musty moldy smell. it was well worth it. I am so impressed with the work ethic and knowledge of the crew. At a later date, I installed a french drain at the front of the house hoping to prevent water from leaking into the basement. It works except in heavy downpours when the ground in completely saturated.

Overall it was a good experience, and he gave me a dollar range to keep in mind for further projects.
Description of Work: Someone from The Crack Team gave me an estimate for repairing a concrete slab on a house that I was considering buying. Basically, he did a walk-through and visual inspection. I didn't actually have any work done, but the fellow who came out was clear in his descriptions of the work that would have to be done. He was a little iffy about providing cost estimates, but I suppose I could understand 10% flexibility either way.

I called the number. Gary was patient, professional and polite. He said he would take a look at the steps and provide me with an estimate. He also e-mailed me the estimate as well. He performed the job with another man. They got the job done in time and were nice to my mother as well. There were some cracks in one of the newly fixed steps. And when I told Gary about it, he was out there that same day and made certain they were dealt with. We would definitely use the Crack Team again. Thank you, Gary. My mother is thrilled.

Gary was efficient, courteous, punctual, and got the job done. He was very responsive and came out again to do extra work without asking for additional payment. He was a pleasure to deal with. The only problem was, he was wrong about those cracks being the source of the water in our basement, and so I think the work was unnecessary.

Gary returned my call within 12 hours and scheduled a consultation for the first date I was available. He assessed the work and provided an estimate and completion date. When I inquired about how to replace the wrought iron railings on my front step, Gary suggested a method to repair and extend the life of what was already in place. When weather did not permit him to perform the repair on the scheduled date, he called ahead to inform me and rescheduled the appointment. The repair was performed on time, professionally and everything was cleaned up before he departed. Gary is very knowledgeable about his own field and other trade for household repair and was kind enough to provide recommendations for other work I need to complete. Very personable, professional, and fair. Would use again with no question.

He came out promptly. We haven?t used them yet. We had a bit of a leak in a room under our garage. He was supposed to do two walls in the basement, fill holes with mortar, and paint with liquid rubber. He was very courteous. He was going to fix some cracks in the basement and also going to fix the drain in our garage. He planned to build a concrete structure on the sidewalk. He was excellent in all areas. He came back with the estimate when he said he would. I believe they are a locally owned company. They were responsive and provided excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend them.

Gary Salerno came to my home within a day of my call, and examined the problem areas. He gave me a lot of confidence that he could correct the problems, and scheduled the work within the week. It took two days, and he came back to do some touch-ups on the third day. What looked like a hot mess in my basement is now fresh, clean and dry! He used high quality products and even went beyond the problem areas to be sure everything looked right. He was friendly, made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day, and had a great associate named Bob. Gary is a true professional - not only did he correct the problems, but his attention to detail was amazing. For example, he noticed my dryer vent hose wasn't connected in the safest way. I picked up a new flexible hose, and Gary attached it correctly for me, even though that wasn't related to his contract.
Description of Work: I called the Crack Team to correct some problems in my basement: water seeping in through the concrete block; erosion of the concrete floor where the water trickled across it; and mortar falling off the ceiling in a cold storage room.

They were awesome. The garage floor had sunk about 6 inches and our cars were bothering me. So they built a ramp to even out the garage floor and the driveway. They were really professional. They explained the process and the type of concrete in a way that they were not annoyed that I didn?t know anything about concrete. They were very easy to work with. I didn?t get any other estimate, and so I don?t know how their price would compare. Their quality of work was excellent. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.
