A+ PLUS CONCRETE & FOUNDATION REPAIR

Pitiful. Took several trips to complete all aspects of the job. "Repairs' began to fail only two months later. Now - six months after A+Plus did their 'repairs,' the entire area has deteriorated and must be replaced. It took some effort but I was able to get a refund for the work A "Very nice repair" completely failed within two months. Was I satisfied? Absolutely not. Apparently a customer that expects the work to be done in a professional manner can be 'very difficult' for Mr. Salerno. I would post photos if Angies List had the resources. The refund was only provided after I threatened to file a complaint with the local magistrate - and then he still wanted to keep $75 because he 'tried!' Mr. Salerno's 'very nice repair' is being completely removed with underlying structure demolished to make way for completely new pad and steps. Before proceeding with this contractor, make sure you get a complete, detailed, written estimate describing the work to be done, the results that will be achieved and the length of warranty. Better yet, insist on an estimate using the PA Home Contractor estimate form. Proceed with caution.. Adding photos to Angie's List review.....

Arrived on time and began right away to pressure wash and clean the bad areas in our driveway. Took their time to insure all the work was completed to our satisfaction. Very happy with the results, would highly recommend A + Concrete!

After having a new concrete driveway installed, I discovered that the contractor did not install a skirt under the garage. The surface under the garage was chopped up and uneven concrete. I had to have this repaired before winter. I called A+ Concrete to install a skirt. The representative was prompt to come to my home to give me an estimate. The job was canceled two times due to rainy weather. When the job was completed on 9/20/2014 the two men who installed the small piece of concrete tried to cover the area with plastic since it began to rain. They ran a heater on the area to try to make it dry quicker. When it did not dry and kept raining and the workmen left the plastic leaning up against the garage, the rain pushed it down along with the shovels they had holding up the plastic A very messy job left me with a clean up and a very uneven skirt under the door. I called several times and left messages with no response. I sent pictures with no response, requesting repair. As a result, I was stuffing blankets under my garage door all winter to keep the cold air out. The garage is integral so every time I backed out of the garage, I had to get out and go back into the garage to re-stuff the blankets under the garage door to keep the cold air out. this was a big inconvenience for me this past winter in the snow. My gas bill went up and the electric bill went up because I had a big gaps under the garage door which is located directly under my living room. I was not happy with the response time or the poor workmanship. There was no follow up after the job was complete nor was I accommodated after several phone messages and an e-mail complete with pictures. I finally got a response from A+ this past March and they are scheduled to return on 4/3/15 to repair the concrete. I hope it does not rain that day.

We had an appointment with Gary Salerno, today for a free estimate. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and after looking at our garage told us that the bowing of our garage walls was too extensive and that he couldn?t help us. Instead of leaving, he went over and above the free estimate explaining to us exactly what needed to be done and that we should do the roof first. He explained what could happen in the rainy season if we don?t. Gary was very knowledge and helped us a great deal by explaining how we should proceed. Our only regret is that we cannot have A+ Plus do our work.

The initial contact went well for scheduling the work but I had to wait over 6 weeks for the job to be done. On the day that the work was performed, the men were late by nearly 45 minutes with no phone call stating they were running late. The work that was done was not acceptable at all! My driveway looks the same after they power-washed it. During the initial contact, I questioned how the power-washed was going to be done due to poor seal that broke down on the driveway and what was done was not what was stated to me! I could have done the driveway myself! The quality of work was poor, overpriced and I never received the receipt for the work completed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

I had scheduled a time for Gary to come and give me an estimate. I stayed at home for this but Gary never showed up. I never received a call letting me know he would be late. When I called to inquire, he informed me that he was backed up due to the inclement weather and could not get to me until later in the day. I asked him if he could do the estimate without me and he agreed. That was good because I was already at work and could not go back home for it. I did not get a call back that day and it was Thanksgiving the next day so understandably Gary did not call me until a few days later. He informed me that he had an opening for the next day to take care of the job. I agreed as it was pretty urgent for me, so for that I was really thankful. I could not compare quotes. so I am not sure if his price was competitive or not, but his team did a good job and I was satisfied. I would use them again.

They started the work in June. Things didn't go well. I think it was a bad match from the start. Gary was pleasant and responsive, but unable to make repairs or correct his work to my satisfaction. At least four of the fifteen areas have broken down completely, and this was before the weather began to get cold. Gary had indicated that he could tone down the new concrete to match the old concrete, not perfectly, but better, and instead I have a patchwork quilt of concrete colors. I called Gary nine times about the quality of the work. Call me crazy, but I offered to pay him on the 10th call, and he did not respond. I think he's had it with me. I could go on, but I've gone on long enough. Throughout, he was pleasant and professional, but his work was not satisfactory. The price he quoted was reasonable, but a bad value given that it needs to be redone.

First, his customer service was great: he was very prompt in returning my call, and answered his cell phone after business hours. He arrived within the time frame we had agreed upon, and went right to work. After making his recommendations, he answered all the questions I had, was very patient, and did not charge me for his time. Gary is the consummate professional.

Gary and his crew arrived on time, and executed the work per the schedule and on cost. This is the second time I have done business with them, and I would call them again.

After examining our exterior and interior, Gary concluded that setting up a fan to move the air more effectively would solve our problem, which was great news, since we thought we were facing a major excavation job. I thought he deserved a consultation fee but Gary declined my offer.

I found Gary, Greg and John to be punctual, professional and friendly. Did a good job of cleaning up after they were finished and were careful around the plantings surrounding the porch. Also offered $50.00 off coupon on jobs over $500.00 Off to a bit of a rocky start because of wrong stain color. Gary and I had both agreed on a medium brown but, when the crew began to paint the porch they realized that the color of stain in the can was nowhere near medium brown. Fortunately, they didn't continuing painting. Because the crew had no stain chip colors on the truck, I had to make a 17 mile round trip to Home Depot to pick out a new stain color so Gary could purchase it and have it mixed. Consequently, a one day job turned into a seven day job due to weather delays and working to fit my job back into their schedule. Greg did try to finish the job once but he no sooner opened the can of stain than the rain began to fall again. I had originally scheduled the work for midsummer but, due to some unplanned repairs to my house, I had to cancel and then reschedule pushing it into Fall when weather gets a little iffy. During the time I was waiting for the weather to cooperate, I did notice some chipping of cement patches around the repairs and pointed this out to Greg. He reapplied some of the patches. I expressed concern about the viability of the base upon which the stain would be applied. Greg assured me that I didn?t need to worry about it. Also, Gary reassured me that they would make good on any repairs that might be needed if issues occurred within a reasonable time frame. Finally, on day seven, three coats of the new stain were applied and the color was perfect. I did notice on closer inspection after stain dried a little and the crew had left that there were a few missed spots. I will use the stain that is left to touch those spots up myself. All in all many of the issues and delays that occurred would not have happened had the person mixing the stain had done it correctly in the first place. ?Get It Right The First Time That?s The Main Thing? by Billy Joel is one of my favorite songs. Unfortunately, the repair on my front porch lasted less than 2 months although Gary & Greg both said it should last at least 2 to 5 years. Every place they patched with concrete bubbled and peeled off right down to the old paint and porch surface. I used no abrasive materials on the porch,e.g. salt during the winter etc. I only used a broom to remove snow. The porch looks worse now than it did before the work was done. I sent photos to Gary and he has promised to come and repair and make good on the job personally. When that happens to my satisfaction, I will rethink my current rating of his company. This is the main entrance to my house and I am embarrassed by how it looks.

Gary was terrific. A+Plus Concrete & Foundation Repair was one of four companies that gave us a bid on the project. There were several different solutions proposed in the bids. We liked Gary and the price he quoted, but we were still on the fence about the approach to take to solve our basement problem. We asked Gary to come to our house again to answer our questions. He showed up when promised and spent about 45 minutes walking us through the project. He was pleasant at all times and never made us feel like we were asking "dumb" questions. When it was time to do the work, Gary showed up promptly. He and his crew were fast and professional. As a side note, the work was done on 9/18/2014. Several weeks later, I noticed that some cracks in the laundry room behind the dryer had not been sealed. I called Gary, and he showed up promptly a few days later and sealed the remaining cracks. He also spent additional time looking to see if there were any other cracks that had been overlooked. At all times he was friendly, pleasant and professional. I would definitely use Gary in the future and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends.

This company was unprofessional, they said they would do a drive buy to look at the work I needed done. They wouldn't even set an appointment with me, and then they said the job would be too small and that they wouldn't do it.

Swiftly did a beautiful repair as I intermittently watched his work in stages. I could not have done this fine work. He actually came down on his estimated price to boot.

The guys were very nice. They completed the work quickly and did an amazing job. They didn't leave any mess and the results exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them and would hire them again in the future.

Gary was very prompt in returning calls and keeping me in the loop for best time to complete work. He and his assistant are hard workers and worked until the job got done. He is a dog friendly person and my little one would have followed him home. Very professional and left no mess!!!!

Gary's Team came to my home yesterday. They cleared away all the broken concrete and completely restructured the porch and steps. I was amazed to see just how much work and time was required to complete this concrete project. Gary's team returned today to seal the concrete and paint the porch, steps and facing on the porch the perfect color of grey that blended with my home. The porch and steps look absolutely beautiful! I can't believe how it looked previously and how they were able to transform the front of my home. Gary and his Team at A+ Plus were very considerate and great to work with. I would highly recommend them for future jobs! Thanks Gary!

Gary returned my calls promptly every time I contacted him. He and his assistant showed up exactly when they said they would for both our estimate and the actual work. They were friendly and professional toward my family and got the job done exactly as promised. When the work was done, I was unhappy with the color of the waterproofing product that was painted on the porch. There were limited color options and none of them seemed right for our home. Since the appearance of our front entrance is important to me, I called Gary to find out what my options might be as far as painting over it with a different product. When he learned that was my plan he offered to send someone from his company do the painting for me, free of charge. I chose and purchased the exact shade that I wanted and they squeezed us in the schedule the very next day. I really appreciated that extra step to make the job complete. It was apparent that Gary truly wanted us to be happy with the results, and we are. Not only does it look great (beautiful color and texture, and no more unsightly cracks), but the space underneath is staying dry. I am confident that with the thorough job they did, NO water will penetrate that porch.

I received a quick response from Mr. Salerno regarding my estimate request and accomodated my schedule to set up a time convenient for me. The estimate was thorough and the scope of work was covered and all of my questions answered. Mr. Salerno and another gentleman arrived on site on time the morning of the repair date and completed the work in about 6 hours. He then walked me through the work completed and cleaned up the work area. The porch looks great and the water problem was solved. It was a great experience from start to finish and I would recommend.

Gary was very punctual and a super nice guy. From estimate to the work itself, Gary is a pro and it shows. He went the extra mile to explain things to me and explain what Carbon Fiber straps achieve and how the installation is performed. This was a big investment to make, but the best thing I ever did to a Western PA house. Gary is a licensed Fortress installer and Fortress offers a lifetime transferable warranty on there product. His price for the work was extremely fair and actually came in under what we expected after some research on the Carbon Fiber products. Gary's work was fantastic and very clean. There were no fume smells and little if no, dust or debris while they were working. If your thinking about Carbon Fiber, have Gary and A1 Plus do the work, he has extensive experience installing this product. I would not hesitate for a second to have Gary do any kind of concrete or basement work, it was a very refreshing and pleasant experience!

Gary and his helper spent over 6 hours to get the job right. They were very thorough, my concrete on the porch area and steps look great. He made sure I knew how to follow up with primer and paint. Great job and good price.

Gary was great to work with. He came out to assess the problem the day after I called him. He gave me an opinion about how to fix my basement drainage problems. It turned out that he does not do the services that would be needed for my basement, but he still took the time to give me his thoughtful and thorough opinion about how to fix my problem. And in the end, he did not charge me for his visit and opinion. Thanks to Gary, I now have a good understanding of what I need to do to solve the problem, and the solution will likely be less expensive than I had anticipated.

My overall experience with Gary, the guy who came out, was very professional and pretty good. He was very mannerable and very respectable. He got to the point and gave suggestions but his price was pretty expensive.

Gary and team did an amazing job. They were out within 2 days of my call and on a Sunday to provide an estimate. Gary was a true professional and walked me through what was going to be done at our house. The remedy was not cheap, but I didn't feel like I was overspending with their professionalism.

All work was done on schedule and the quality was very good. They even helped to fix a drainage pipe issue in the garage though that was not in the project scope. We had one issue with a crack on the driveway and they returned promptly to fix it. They may not be the least expensive option, but their pricing was fair and they do very good quality work. At least one neighbor has booked them for a job after watching their performance at our house.
