Response from KEITH GALVIN WILDLIFE CONTROL
We are very sorry to hear that Member was not happy with our service. We truly wished he had informed us of he's dissatisfaction and given us an opportunity to correct his poor opinion of us. It is difficult to predict how long each appointment will take so we generally give a three-hour window because we don’t like to be late for appointments. If an exact time for the inspection had been requested, we would have made every effort to accommodate Member. Member contacted us about squirrels at his home. Keith and Keith Jr. went out to the property to do the inspection. Our records indicate that no evidence of squirrel entry could be found from the outside. Keith was unable to gain access to the top of the Member’s roof because of the extremely steep pitch of the roof. He was able to observe most of the areas he needed to check from the ground, but generally would have gone up to inspect thoroughly. Although Member states in his complaint against us that we never entered the house or the attic, our records indicate that both technicians went upstairs to inspect the attic area. Because the attic had no floor, only rafters buried in loose insulation, Keith was unable to enter the attic area safely. He did stick his head up inside and observed as much as possible from the entryway to the attic. Member was informed that the attic vent could be a possible entry point for the squirrels, but Keith was unable to reach the vent because of the condition of the attic. Even with these issues, Keith was confident that no squirrels were living in the house and the problems the Member’s were experiencing was most likely deer mice. Keith placed mousetraps on the lower section of the roof near the dormer since dormers are a common entry point. Keith checks live traps everyday because it is the humane thing to do for both animals and clients. We don’t want animals suffering in our traps or clients being upset from watching them suffer! Since mousetraps are not live animal traps, the Wagner’s traps were checked every couple of days. No mice were caught, however, Member called and requested the traps be removed prior to the end of his 30 day trapping agreement. I took the call and he made no mention of his dissatisfaction at that time. During the inspection, Keith gave Member an approximate verbal price for sealing the house against animal entry. He was unable to give an exact price for the work due to overgrown dense bushes against some sections of the house. Weep holes are one of the things that need to be filled in order to block mice from entering. Keith could not get an accurate count on how many weep holes needed filling because of the bushes. Member was supposed to notify us once the bushes were trimmed so that we could re-inspect at NO ADDITIONAL cost and submit a written proposal for the work. Without complete information an exact price could not be determined. In addition, no estimate/proposal has ever left this office containing a date for work to be done, approximate or otherwise. We do not schedule the work until the proposal has been signed by the client and returned to our office. Many proposal’s go out, but only some are returned. So why would we schedule work if we don’t know we will be doing it?
