I cannot recommend John Shinn Roofing enough. This was the 2nd house he has done for me in the last few years. I received 2 quotes from other companies that were 20% higher (or more) in price. The job was done quickly and professionally and communication with his team was top notch.

John, Chris, Willie and crew were so professional, courteous, easy to talk to. Quality people, quality work. We love our new roof. Highly recommend J. Shinn Roofing.

Chris and John were extremely thorough during the whole process providing me with a detailed estimate. When the day came to do my roof they were there promptly and completed my colonial in less than 6 hours. So if you are looking for a roofer that has fair prices and high quality services then look no further.

Great! Chrissy was a pleasure to deal with. She and John went out of their way when my wife made a mistake on the shingle color. They returned and had the new shingles brought back to finish the job on the same day! I already recommended them to one of my coworkers. The work that was done was great..

EXCELLENT!!! MY WIFE AND I STRUGGLED QUITE A WHILE TO FIND THE RIGHT ROOFER TO DO THE WORK AND WE TALK TO JOHN M. SHINN ROOFER AND FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL, ANSWERING ALL OUR QUESTIONS AND SUPPLYING ALL THE DOCUMENTS THAT WE REQUESTED IN A VERY TIMELY MATTER WHICH ALONG WITH THERE QUOTE MADE THE DIFFERENCE IN CHOOSING THEM. ALSO THEIR QUOTE WAS CLOSE TO WHAT THE JOB COST IN THE END. WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE JOB AND DEFINITELY WILL RECOMMEND JOHN M SHINN FOR A ROOF REPLACEMENT JOB.

They showed up on time. Conducted the work in a professional manner. Did a great job! The job site was picked up and clean.

Signed a contract to replace my roof on 4/1/2019. Told me they would be back to me shortly with an install date. After over 2 months I had not heard from them. I called for a status and got no answer. I emailed them and no answer. I emailed again threatening to cancel and I received a phone call. Chris who takes care of the office said weather has been a factor. They would get to my roof within 2 weeks. 2 week then 3 weeks passed. After 4 weeks I called again. Again no call back I emailed again threatening to cancel. I received a call. Then told they would install the following week. Scheduled for Wednesday but cancelled due to weather, Scheduled for Friday and I told Chris I would be out of town. She said they would install anyway and take pictures to send to me. I agreed. They did not install Friday and I have not heard a thing from them since. I both called and emailed and again no response. They do not answer calls or emails unless you threaten to cancel . I would strongly recommend not using Shinn roofing.

Very well. We had to replace the wood boards on the roof. But they completed the work quickly

I had given them $200 deposit for the $5700 price of a new roof. After waiting 2 months and sending emails and phone calls with no reply, I left a message that if they were not going to do the work I would like my money back and I will get someone else. I received a call shortly after that saying they would be out the next week. 3 weeks later after calling again, Chris said they would call me over the weekend and doing the work next week. I received no call and on Wednesday I call and explained that I was not called again and if they were not coming out this week to cancel the job and I will get someone else. They knew from day 1 that my roof was leaking and I was having damage from it. Also all of the other F's received on this site I absolutely believe. I guess the $200 loss was a lesson learned. I wish my roof was completed and I could of gave an A.

perfect. Work was done within a week once we set up the date and suggestions were even made by roofer which saved me time, worry, and cost. I would hire this company again in a minute.

The work was completed on time at a fair price. The quality of the work is outstanding and the clean-up was fantastic. I highly recommend.

Prior to signing a contract, he answered numerous questions for us. They arrived exactly when they said they would, and got the job done quicker than expected (one day for entire new roof.). Clean-up was wonderful. Mr. Shinn actually talked us out of a pricier option that he deemed unnecessary. On time, under cost and aggravation-free! He came back the next day to do a final check on the job and clean-up. Due to weather, he was an hour later than originally expected. His wife called BEFORE THE EXPECTED TIME to let me know he'd be late! She was also a pleasure to deal with on the phone. This is the kind of consideration that is sadly rare these days .Very professional.

His office staff is very professional and polite. On the first day of the installation he was prompt and his crew work great all day. I called twice and left messages, after not receiving a call back I sent an email. Two weeks later I receive a message from a woman saying they are backed up with work and could not service us, I called back to find out when was the next available day and they never called back. Very unprofessional! I called another contractor who responded immediately and we are getting a new roof in a couple of weeks

We had our roof replaced by John Shinn Roofing 6/7/18. I am very happy with the quality & service of the job. Things went very smoothly from start to finish. Johns concern about our new driveway & not putting heavy machinery on it was appreciated. Working around the bad weather from Winter to Spring caused some delays in starting the project but I am very happy with the results.

John gave us a detailed estimate right at the start. He and his crew worked together to complete the project in a timely manner. The work was high quality and he took time to explain the details and answer any questions we had.

Excellent service. Remember the days when someone said, I'm going to do this and they actually did it. Well that was my experience with Shinn Roofing. I called them to get an estimate on my mom's house and garage( I'm 53 years old and my mom, well she's a little older and we will leave it at that). John came out and noticed right away problems on the garage other than the roof. He noticed that besides the roof sagging, the walls on the garage were actually bowed, but the garage is still structurally sound. He told us what our options were and what he could do, and left the decision up to us. No pressure, no empty promises, just the plain honest truth. Right there is the best way I can sum up my experience with the people from Shinn Roofing..... Honest. John said, I'll have the estimate to you tomorrow, the next day, I had the estimate. We will be here on Tuesday, they were there on Tuesday. We will have this done in one day, it was done in one day ( the house and garage). WOW ! I know the anxiety, we all go through, when we are looking for a contractor, is this the right company ? Are they honest? Do they do quality work? Are they going to use the materials, they say they are going to use ? In my experience, dealing with John Shinn Roofing, the answer is yes to all of the above. I would like to thank everyone here on Angie's List who reviewed Shinn Roofing, before I did and gave them a favorable review, because that was the reason I called them. So, if you are looking for a roofing contractor to call, definitely put Shinn Roofing on the top of your list and see for yourself.

Outstanding customer service, fair pricing and neat work and clean up

Cannot say - both used Angie, left a separate phone message and sent an email via his web site. No call back or response at all. I would not use a contractor that was not responsive or eager to get back to potential new customers. What happens later once the job is going, or after it is finished?
