Process started in March 2011 when Mr. Shinn had an employee take measurements and assess an old roof. We questioned original estimate as part of the roof was only 10 yrs. old and was in good shape. Mr. Shinn was supposed to come and personally check and measure roof when snow was all off the roof. As of 8/16/2011 we have yet to see anybody from Shinn Roofing. He has returned only two of several phone calls, both promising he would come check and measure the roof, which he has never done. We have put off contacting other roofing contractors due to Mr. Shinn's promises to show up. We are disappointed that there is a lack of professionalism on the part of Mr. Shinn, if he did not want to do the roof, then tell us so that we could contact other roofers. Mr. Shinn did a wonderful job on a previous project for us, it is sad that he will not even return phone calls now. I don't think we will be calling Mr. Shinn for any more projects and I don't recommend waiting for him to call you back or show up.

Requested a quote for roof replacement. Excellent response to original request to be contacted. Set up date and time to meet. No show. Called - he said he forgot. Rescheduled to next day. No show again!! I followed up with an email. No response. Very dissappointed! Update - The second appointment was "scheduled" for 8am. There was no "maybe" involved.

This project was done during the winter months with snow on the ground and some cold temperatures. All old roofing and nails were cleaned up and they also offered to return when snow was gone to check and clean up any materials they missed. Our roof was delayed a couple of times due to weather but was completed in just two days. John and his crew were very professional, work was completed in a timely manner and clean up of the area around the house was very good.

I have a ranch house and the back of house is in full sun all the time. The roof on the back of my house was falling apart. I was panicking because winter was coming. So he put my roof on, and he understood my panic. From what I understand he is very busy. John gave me about 60 referrals so I randomly picked numbers and called some people. They all agreed yes absolutely go with John (JM Shinn Roofing). So I did! It was a little difficult because it was cold, really cold and thank God because if I had not had it done I would have had a big problem once the snow came. I started this in the fall, he knew my situation but he had other people before me. I had to wait but I was so pleased he got here and did the roof and about a week later we had a major snow storm. He did the entire roof. What I liked about him was he told me where he got his supplies and told me I could go down there and look at the samples. So I went down there and I was torn between 2 colors that I like, and 2 of the helpers came out and looked at the picture of my house I had with me and helped me choose the best color. And my roof is absolutely beautiful! It went perfect. I would absolutely recommend him.

This company was unable to come out the first day I called, but returned my call same day and then called me again when they couldn't get there the first time they scheduled. They have a lot of business! Because my job was a small one, the owner sent over his foreman who does smaller jobs independently and that is the guy we hired -- his name is Frank Tobia. He provided proof of insurance and, we felt, gave us a very fair price.

John and his team did a great job. I spoke with numerous roofing companies . John was a straight talking individual, here on the site as job was completed. Had many great references . Completed the job ahead of schedule, which is always Great!

They did this in the mountains, so I was not present while they did the work. I was satisfied with the company and with the work that they did. Overall, their prices, quality, and professionalism were very good. I checked the references that John Shinn provided, and they were all good.

The overall process was pleasantly painless, quick , and efficient. The response to our phone call was done in a timely manner and the crew arrived on time and were finished with the job within a half a day. Before the guys left, they made sure all old shingles and nails were cleaned up. Very impressed with their professionalism.
