Mike Kelly evaluated the job and in 4 evenings he or his son (usually) tore out the bad plaster, put in a new stud put in 2 sheets of drywall, and taped and plastered over it. It was an EXCELLENT job. They always put down drop cloths and tried to be as non-dusty as they could for doing plastering (our living room furniture was still in the room although the sofa was covered with a drop cloth). They peeled off the wood panels meticulously; they did such a smooth job matching the old plaster to the new that I almost felt bad putting the wood panels back up. We didn't want people in our home when we weren't here, so they came here to work after we were home (about 6pm) and worked typically until 7:30 or 8pm. I can't say enough how nice the job was and the price - $300 - was a bargain. So much building is done with drywall now, so to have skilled plasters is getting rare. They also do stucco and stone veneer repairs, but I can't vouch for that, but I'd trust them based on past experience.
