The service & professionalism at Paul Wright was fantastic from start to finish. I called to get an estimate on the work & Bruce was able to come out & send me an estimate with all the details outlined in a few days. If I had any questions, they were always quick to answer. We ran into a small problem when the roof was actually installed & Bruce called me right away to let me know and also to help with the additional insurance claim that I had to make. I was really impressed with their work & with their communication. I would absolutely work with them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Shortly after contacting them, they had someone out to look at the roof. They determined it needed to be tarped and installed the tarp within 24 hours to ensure that the roof did not leak. We had no problems while waiting to be scheduled. On Jan 15th, they repaired the roof, which was quicker than other contractors that were involved with neighbors. The roofing team members were professional, helpful, and very neat. The job took the majority of the day.

Many came, quickly estimated and left, but only Bruce Richetta took the time to 'talk roof' with me. Bruce's estimating visit was approximately 1/1-2 hours. The house is a Victorian built in 1854. That is 1854! So the roofing was not without challenges. Work was completed in a reasonable time. Most of the issues on the main roof have been addressed, and the leaks repaired. There is still an issue around the chimney in extremely heavy rains (with a possible rebuild of the chimney next spring), but this is not from anything Paul Wright Roofing did. (Paul Wright does not rebuild chimneys.) After three years of wondering what was going on in this area of the roof, Bruce identified the problem when he returned to check after a heavy rain. There was an unforeseen delay due to Paul Wright Roofing having to rebuild the second-story porch in order to complete the main porch roof. (I appreciate they did the rebuild themselves, as it would have been diffcult to find a reputable carpenter on short notice, and during the height of the construction season.) And their carpenter did a very fine job rebuilding the porch!! I have no more issues with the main porch roof leaking onto the porch floor - and there were some really heavy rains and a hurricane since all roofs were replaced/repaired. The crew was courteous and arrived on-time each day...They kept the premises clean while the work was in progress.... Bonnie of the office staff was always friendly and helpful.... Bruce was always willing to take my calls, and to keep me informed of options. Overall, I am very, very pleased with the work. I will have additional roofing needs in the future. (Replacing a slate cupola roof.) I plan on calling Paul Wright Roofing for the job! Paul Wright is one of few roofers in the area who is a member of the National Slate Association.
Description of Work: Re-roofed the garage, side porch, second-story porch, main porch roof, and repaired the main roof which another roofing contractor had failed to fix after multiple attempts... Four roofs were replaced in total. Paul Wright Roofing also rebuilt the second story porch surround and installed vinyl siding on this porch. Installed GAF Slateline shingles in slate grey and Victorian red....Honeycomb slate was installed on the second-story porch. Replaced gutters and downspouts on the garage, side porch and main porch roof...Reworked the main porch gutter to keep any large volume of water from cascading onto the second-story porch. Installed a copper floor on the second story porch including a copper drain pipe through the main porch ceiling connecting into the main porch gutter. (The drain piping is hidden. The porch ceiling was open and was in the process of being replaced at the time.)

My experience with Paul Wright is very strange. I first arranged for an estimate for some gutter work, along with gutter cleaning. An estimate arrived in a timely fashion, with the gutter cleaning separate from the gutter work (which involved a new gutter and changes to existing gutters.) The gutter cleaning was an excellent experience: they scheduled it right away, and the service was excellent. But the second estimate--on the gutter work--didn't include a major piece of the job I had discussed with the estimator (putting a gutter under the lawn for a few feet for draining purposes. I called back and was promised an updated proposal. A month went by and I called again. Another couple of weeks, and I wrote an email. Still no response, except a promise that the updated proposal was forthcoming. Another call, and a final email, after over two months of waiting for an estimate that I was told was ready. I never did receive that estimate, and more than anything I am perplexed by the non-response.
Description of Work: Gutter cleaning, removal of some leaf blocking, and installation of a diverter.

We had damage to the roof as a result of hurricane Sandy. I called Paul Wright Roofing based on reviews I read here and was not dissappointed. I am sure with all of the damage in the area that the company was quite busy, but they were able to get to my house the same day I called in order to fix our roof and mitigate any further water damage.

Horrible, company was unprofessional, unresponsive, and disrespectful.
Description of Work: Paul Wright was extremely unprofessional and uncommunicative. They stated that it would take two to three days to obtain an estimate, and we received no response. We called their office to inquire about the maintenance to repair our roof because of minor hurricane damage and minor wear and the person who answered say they would call Tony. Two more days passed and we still heard nothing, so we called them again. They finally responded with an estimate for the maintenance and a second estimate to replace the roof a year later because we only have one income at the moment. We asked for clarification on the maintenance estimate they refused to provide because they did not respond. Furthermore, their estimate was $2,000 MORE than the other estimates we received. This company was not only completely unresponsive but they responded in an unprofessional manner when we informed them we would not be using their services because we felt the delays and their uncommunicative behavior would be reflected when they performed the actual work. This contractor was completely unprofessional, overpriced, and unresponsive-and this was only for an estimate, I am glad we did not hire them, I can only imagine how the work would be.

The only truth to the above tirade is that Tony promised him a quote on Friday the 16th and didn't provide it until Monday the 19th. Obviously we have been busy with the hurricane and his house was difficult to quote. He also told Tony that we were the only ones to show up at all. He faxed his approved contract to us on Wednesday the 21st, the day before Thanksgiving. On the following Monday morning he called and cancelled saying we were unresponsive. He was rude and disrespectful to Bonnie on the phone, and then hung up on her in mid sentence. He then sent a nasty email to me repeating his dissatisfaction that we didn't call him over the holiday weekend. I responded that I had no interest in arguing with him and he could get someone else to do his work.

When I interviewed them I stressed the need for improved attic ventilation and we determined that ridge vents would meet those requirements. Work appeared to go quickly and smoothly. I have easy access to the attic and went up to do some clean up after the sheathing repair. It was plain to me that only about 1/2 of the ridge vents had been correctly cut. They are a GAF Certified Installer and you can go to the GAF web site and read the GAF instructions for installing the ridge vent and any of the other products. When my sales person inspected the work, he didn't make any excuses but said they would be back right away to fix it, which they did. It does make one wonder what other parts of the job may have been sub-standard. Clean up was not as good as I expected since I picked up nails for several months after, particularly in a bed of decorative stone where I sometimes park a car. Gutter installation was OK but clean up could have been better. If you have a ranch house, do consider getting the larger 6 inch gutters.
Description of Work: Re-roof 7 room ranch house, install new 6" gutters, replace bad roof sheathing, install ridge vents. Got three estimates that varied only by about 10%. Deciding factors were a 5 year warranty by Paul Wright and that they are a certified GAF installer which is required to get GAFs maximum warranty (you can read that fine print online).

Bruce came out and gave an estimate but somehow forgot to look at the garage roof which garnered a second separate estimate. I responded appropriately with the down payment then proceeded to wait 3 months because they were busy with commerical projects lehigh university. The work went on as finally scheduled, I had to call them back for a gutter that was overflowing on the 3rd floor which they took care of. They sent me 2 bills which was also somewhat annoying but I could live with that. During a heavy rain a few weeks past service, a leak developed in my front vestibule. I went out in the rain during the storm and noticed that there was a blockage in the down spout on the first floor roof with water backing up onto the flat roof where the leak was. I put some sealer tar there to stem the tide. The downspout to the ground level was bone dry. My wife confirmed they never ran water through the front gutters when they cleaned them out. I called to have them fix the blockage. They came and put a patch where they pulled up the tar I had put down but still didn't run any water through. I then recieved a call from Bruce stating sight unseen that this wasn't a result of their work but that my roof was old. It's a 110 year old house. He came again in my absence and took pictures which amount to nothing and sent a bid for $1k to change the gutter slant and maybe put down some more patch. They do not listen and for a repair cost of roughly $200, they lost a customer that they would likely make $20k off in the next 5 years. I tried to speak to Bruce's superior Paul and the call was not returned.
Description of Work: I have a large house with Slate roof. The contractor was asked to inspect roofs and clean out gutters. I had used them once before and their workmanship was good but approximately a month wait to have work done. I would have given them A's if a member of angies list at that time.

First of all, Bruce did not forget to to look at the garage roof. A tree branch landed on it and he tried to convince the Customer to put that part of the job through insurance which he refused to do. The work was done when we told the Customer it was going to be done. The time frame quoted, the end of August, was met. The biggest 2 issues the Customer had with us was the gutter clogged again, which is bound to happen in September when your house is surrounded by tall trees; and the foyer roof leaked. We re-cleaned the gutters for free, but we never got to do any work on the foyer roof. After 4 unreturned phone calls to the Customer, Bruce finally talked to the Customer's wife who called him an "Arrogant Fucking Asshole" Thats when the relationship went sour. I realize they were under a lot of stress at the time, they had a 2 week old baby when this occured. We would have continued to work with them and do some repairs as needed, but they stopped taking our calls.

We had a great experience beginning with Tony. He was very knowledgable, answered all our questions, and gave us a clear understanding of what to expect. The proposal was fair, and available by e-mail. The cost was a bit more expensive than other quotes but well worth it. Our crew was very professional and respectful of our property and us. There was no foul language, no cigarette butts, and they took a lot of pride in their work. Every interaction with mike and our crew was pleasant. Our property was cleaned up each day with care taken to collect loose debris. There was always someone to speak with when I called. Thanks Bonnie for always being pleasant and helpful. Jim was the last person we met. He inspected the completed work, and even refused final payment until he replaced a screen with a small tear. Our roof looks great, and has performed well with subsequent heavy wind and rain. We would highly recommend Paul Wright. It is well worth the investment.

This company was the closest with the best reviews. I got in touch with them and made an appointment. They came out and gave us an estimate and told us what the problems were and they could do the work. We never heard back from them. We called them back a couple of weeks later and got no response. We called several times and never got in touch with anyone. My husband finally got in touch with someone and told them that we did not want them to do the work anymore.

This member called on May 10th for a quote. Although we do not service Doylestown, the appointment got scheduled anyway. Tony met with him on May 14th and, after reviewing the roof issues with him, told him we would probably not bid the job. Tony discussed the job with me and I decided that the proper repairs requred a framing or general contractor, not a roofing contractor. On May 22nd he called back and Tony told him we were not the right fit for his needs, and as such we would not be providing a quote. We never heard from them again. We never quoted anything to them, and we spoke with them the only 2 times they called. Paul

Description of Work: We noticed a wet spot on the ceiling and wanted someone to check it out for us. Toni was here promptly at the appointed hour. I found them on Angie’s List. Everything they did went pretty smoothly and was pretty good as well as quickly done. Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure working for you. I believe the client has confused the 2 jobs we did for him. The first job we did was a quoted re-roof. We applied the $500.00 Angies List to that job. The next job we did involved repairing the damage caused when a tree landed on his roof. We did not quote this job, it was to be billed at time and material, based on the extent of the damage once the roofing was removed. We gave him a price range for this repair, and we stayed within that range.

My decision to go with Paul Wright was based on the excellent service I received when they came out to look at the damage. The gutters were started and completed in one day. They looked good, but there were issues with the pitch which caused dripping and some water remaining in the gutters. There was also an issue with dripping with one of the gutters not being right up against the house which did not show up till the big October snow storm. The roofing company always responded timely, and assured me they would make every effort to correct the problems. All problems were dealt with promptly. It would have been better if all had been installed without needing the corrections, but in the end they took care of everything.

Perhaps a water test would have been better called for to isolate the issue. But what's done is done. I am frustrated that we still face this water issue by the fireplace after the time, effort and cost that went into addressing the problem. However, PWR and Bruce has expressed that they are committed to solving this matter. I'll update my review on the fireplace once PWR has hopefully solved the problem. Update: After numerous attempts to contact the company for a followup repair during the early part of this year, PWR finally responded with an appointment at the end of April which they never showed up for . Since then, I tried to contact them again to no avail. Apart from being told that I am a difficult person to please (mind you the problem is not rocket science and I had paid a premium to get my water issue resolved), we are at a stalemate with this matter after filing proceedings. In conclusion, I would not recommend PWR due to lack of professionalism and disengagement. Of course, they will offer and promise you their commitment until they receive payment. After that, good luck in trying to get them to return. So fellow members beware.
Description of Work: I have used PWR on about three jobs so far which nets out to the amount spent that I have indicated. I had roofing, siding and downspout repairs done throughout the year of 2011 with the last job performed in late October 2011. The roofing issues were mostly preventive which also included the replacement of the boots on the roof stacks (with one which was actually leaking). Of the three jobs, two consisted of addressing a water penetration that we experienced with our gas fireplace which is annexed to the house encased in its own (vinyl siding) structure. This usually occurs during driving rain on that side of the house. This in itself consisted of about 55% of the total cost paid to PWR. The water penetration into the family room was stopped but, unfortunately to my dismay, the matter still persists as water still makes its way into the basement on the lateral sides of the gas fireplace structure. The work entailed on both jobs was to remove the siding and take corrective measures (via additional wrap and flashing). I have dealt only with Bruce. He is professional, punctual and attention to detail (which I am a stickler for). He does take pride in the work that he performs. He himself has made it clear to me that he wishes to solve this matter so I'll update my review when it is finally taken care of. PWR is somewhat costly and be cognizant that they do not warranty certain jobs (such as the siding issue that I am facing) as it may have resulted from a builder's negligence, etc. However, you are dealing with a reputable establishment.

Description of Work: Contacted Paul Wright around mid October to get an evaluation and inspection of damage to roof caused by Hurricane Irene. Called Paul Wright and spoke to Bonnie who set up an appointment for the inspection for November 15, 2011. Bruce, Paul Wright's representative, came on the date as planned. He and I walked around the outside of the home and discussed the damage that we could see from our vantage point on the ground. Bruce said I could go inside, he would go up on the roof and send me a report with proposed cost in a few days. I went inside and left Bruce still on the ground in the yard area. Subsequent to that visit, I never received the promised report nor heard from Bruce or the Paul Wright organization again. I am not sure if the roof was ever inspected by Bruce.

I don't get paid to help people screw their insurance. He never intended to hire us no matter what I wrote, so I chose not to help him. Given the same circumstances, I'll do the same thing again. The work was great. They told me they would be here in two to three weeks, but it took over two months. The day they called, they were here very promptly. I would use them again in the future if necessary.
Description of Work: I used Paul Wright Contracting Inc to put gutters on my roof.
