Paul wright roofing arrived on time to give an estimate. Explained the work that needed to be done. Once accepted, they arrived to perform the work on the date scheduled. The final price was exactly per the estimate. Quality of the work was excellent. Crew was courteous and left the job site clean of all debris. Their office followed up with a call a few days later to check to see if I was satisfied with the work performed. I would use them again for other work.
Description of Work: The contractor was hired to replace missing down spouting and adjust all loose gutters on a 100 year old home.

I made the "Wright" choice! From start to finish, I'm pleased with all aspects of my roofing project done by Paul Wright Roofing. I reside in a duplex home. After Hurricane Irene became an unwelcomed visitor into our households, my neighbor and I were sorely in need of a new roof. I simply had water marks in several rooms, however, my neighbor was less fortunate and sustained considerably more damage. Beginning with the friendly telephone demeanor of Bonnie, office manager at Paul Wright Roofing, all individuals with whom I had contact were extremely friendly, helpful and competent. Jim Schultz, Roofing Specialist, conducted the appraisal and subsequently submitted a proposal, which included recommendations for resolving problems caused by the uniqueness of the roof design. He patiently explained the roofing products to be used and techniques necessary to produce optimum results. Even to a novice, it was evident that Jim's an expert in his field. Within several days, Jim's crew arrived to begin work. The crew had an incredible work ethic! Neighbors commented on the crew's hard work, commitment and attention to detail. In conjunction with the new roof, some new downspouts were installed and missing shanks replaced on some gutters. Exposed new wood and downspouts were carefully painted to match the existing wood and downspouts. Since electrical work was already in place, I optd to also include new heat cable in my contracct for added protection against ice dams. In the event of an ice storm, the new cable, when activated, will ensure that the downspouts remain open and allow water to flow freely. During the entire roofing projectm Jim's crew diligently performed all aspects of their work and exercised great care to protect property and clean up even going into my attic to check for any roofing debris. I highly recommend Paul Wright Roofing for any type of roofing project.

Very disappointed. We thought we had contacted a professional .
Description of Work: We called Paul Wright for an estimat to rebuild a garage roof. They said that they did that type of work, and would come to see the damage and provide an estimate. They were very punctual, looked at the damage and told us they would get back to us either way. Today is November 4 and we have yet to hear from them.

We do not do that kind of work, we never did. We are not remodelers, plumbers or electricians. I have no idea where the member got the idea that we rebuild structures that are falling down. Tearing down a structure and building a new one is a specialty trade just like roofing. If she gets someone to re-build the structure, I'd be happy to do the roofing, siding and gutters. Paul

This report upsets me greatly! The member hired us to change out 3 vent collars on his roof, which we did and did well! He insisted that we use his shingles which were stored improperly and were all bent. Against our better judgement we accommodated him and used his shingles. The shingles did not lay flat for quite some time, which is what he complained about. I met with the member after receiving this report. After speaking with him he remembered that the shingles were all bent but they did eventually lay down and look fine now. He said he was happy and his roof never leaked, his only concern was the way it looked. I explained our guarantee again, we guarantee what we do, not the roof, and he seemed to understand this time. What upsets me is that his report is not accurate, and he should have changed it after we met, but he didn't, even after he admitted to me that he was wrong. Paul

The company was referred by a very satisfied customer so I felt good about contacting them for an estimate. They came out within a week and examined my roof and left me a notice they would call to give me the estimate. They never called so after a few day I called them. Spoke with Tony who is the one who examined my roof. He said he would the next day with all the details he never called. I called the company two more times and left messages. They never called me back. Their work might be good but they are not very reliable.

The asphalt shingle roof on our home was replaced due to age. A visit was made to our home to examine our home and provide information for the estimate. A estimate was provided within a few days. The work performed was very professional and met or exceeded all my expectations. All interactions with the company office and installation crew were very pleasant and professional. Working with Paul Wright Contracting was a very pleasant experience and would recommend then highly.

This company is superb. They responded to my phone call for an estimate immediately and had Bruce Richetta at my home checking my roof and giving me a clear concise estimate within just a few days. They performed the job within 2-3 weeks of the estimate ( despite all the rainy weather we had). Their estimate was right in line with other estimates I had requested from other roofers, and their final bill was exactly what they had estimated. I worked with Bruce Richetta, who is extremely knowledgeable and very responsive to my needs. Whenever I had any questions, I could reach him almost immediately. Many other contractors are not nearly as accessible as Bruce and the Paul Wright Contractors. The job they did was virtually flawless and Bruce personally came at the end of the job to inspect everything. They also followed up with phone calls to make sure I found no other problems with their work. I am very impressed by the Paul Wright Roofing contractors and will use them again if the need arises. I recommend them whole-heartedly.

It took almost 3 months from the time I received an quote till the work was performed. I had questions about the quote and it was impossible to get the representative to call back. One excuse after another......There seemed to be turnover with the office staff too. The roofers came unannounced. Fortunately, another construction company was here doing outside work. They informed me that the roofers from paul Wright were only here for alittle over an hour and they did not complete all the work they said was needed. I think they oversell.

I think [this member] must work for one of my competitors, none of the information in her rant above is accurate. She emailed my office on the evening of July 10th (a Sunday) to request a quote. I emailed her back the following morning asking for a contact number or a phone call to schedule an appointment. She called back and we scheduled an appointment for the 18th. As it turned out she didn't want one quote, she wanted 4 different quotes for re-roofing, siding, gutters, and slate roof repairs. We did the quoting work for her free of charge and emailed the quotes to her on the 22nd, (4 days later). She wanted the quotes emailed because she was going to be out of town and wasn't available by phone. She called very upset on the 23rd saying we never sent the quote so we re-sent them. She called again on the 25th even more upset with us for ignoring her. I suggested she check her junk email folder and behold, she found her quotes. She wasn't happy with 2 of the quotes and asked us to change them and re-send them, which we did. That occured on the 26th of July. She once again called and asked for other work which was quoted on the 3rd of August. She signed the quote for $1,300.00 for slate roof repairs and sent it in with a deposit on Tuesday the 9th of August. The following Monday she called screaming that we didn't do the work yet. We tried to explain to her that we had work lined up for 2 weeks and she would get done in order when it wasn't raining, but she didn't want to hear it. She expected us to drop every other client and do her work the next day even if it was raining. We told her we would do her work as soon as the weather, and our schedule allowed, but we would try to get her done ASAP. On August 30th we were able to do the repair so we called her to let her know we were coming, but got no answer. I chose to do the repair anyway since she made it clear that this repair was so urgent to her. After completing the work, my office called her to make sure the work was satisfactory. She demanded to speak with me and she let me know she wasn't paying her bill because we changed less slate than was quoted. I hadn't even billed her yet! I let her know that replacing less slate was a good thing. It means her roof was in better shape than we thought and of course she would be billed only for the work that was done, not the work that was quoted. Her final bill was less than $1,000.00, not the $3,000.00 she states above. It actually took just under 3 weeks, in one of the wettest months of the year, to get to her work. Not the 3 months she states above. I honestly don't believe we ever had a chance to make her happy. Throughout the entire process we treated her with respect and dignity. A courtesy we were not afforded. I'm sorry I even did her job.

Despite an onslaught of demand for their services, given the recent weather seige, foreman Jim Schultz made our project a priority. He studied our situation, created an estimate, and was subsequently able to lower the estimate by recognizing and suggesting cost-saving improvements to the job we requested. The crew arrived on time, left each day with the site in impeccable condition, and worked seamlessly. The team leader, Will, cheerfully answered all my tedious questions. It was a complicated job, and I appreciated the explanations. I might add that their aesthetic sensitivity is impressive... as our house was built in 1919 that was important to us. Paul Wright Contracting is the reason people like me join Angie's List ... to get reliable information in order to engage reliable professionals. I cannot state highly enough how happy we are with our experience. They are skilled, dignified, and professional, to a man. HIRE THIS TEAM!

Overall we are happy with the quality of the job and the work performed. Bruce the estimator did a very through just in evaluating the roof and making recommendation of what needed to be done. Paul Wright and their team was very thorough, quick, quiet and cleaned up after themselves. They were very attentive to explain everything they were doing, gave a thorough estimate and good followup. All work is guaranteed. I will recommend Paul Wright to my neighbors, family and friends. I am very pleased.
Description of Work: Replaced flange over bay window, re-routed gutter, fixed and cleaned out gutter. Had water flowing down front of house in an irregular pattern which had water streaming directly over front door. Paul Wright re-routed the upper gutter on my home to prevent this from happening. They also noticed the existing flange seal was breaking away and wearing off, so they replaced the flange and installed it properly by inserting it directly into the brick face of my home vs. just using a sealer which the original builder had done. I had experienced a leak in the ceiling of the foyer of my home which I suspected was coming from the water flow on the outside of the house. Paul Wright noticed evidence of how the water was traveling and how it may have gotten into my home. Had rain over the weekend and no problems so far.

The only problem we had is that they had called to tell me they were coming on a certain day, that they would be there a 8 am. By 10 am I called their office because no one had arrived to do the job. I got "Peggy" (from the Discover commercials) who was less than helpful. A while later I finally got a call telling me a mistake had been made and they would have to reschedule. I spent the morning at home for nothing. After 3 more weeks of waiting we finally got the work done. However, the waiting was due to rain, the hurricane and then our loss of power for 4 days. They came on a Saturday because they wanted to make up for the delay. Afterward we got two calls from their office and then one from the owner checking on our satisfaction with their service. So far the gutters work as they are supposed to and I did have a nice conversation with the owner about how bad he felt about the delay. Outside of the first scheduling screw-up, we are happy with their work and would recommend them to others.

I originally contacted Paul Wright Contracting because I saw their ratings were very good on Angie's List. I needed 2 things done to my home.... new gutters installed with leaf guards and a fix for leaks around sky lights. A nice estimator named Tony showed up fairly quickly and toured my home and sounded rather promising. He left and said he would get back to me in days with some numbers. I waited and waited for an estimate... after 4 calls and a 2 to 3 week period passed by, I finally got someone to get the ball rolling. First, the gutters.... I made it clear that I wanted new gutters WITH leaf guards installed. The price on the proposal came back fairly reasonable ($920) but the description was very vague. It read: Replace gutters only (does not include down spouts and elbows). So I called to ask for more detail on the description before I signed the contract. After more delays and calls I got another proposal - this one reflecting what I had originally asked for: Replace gutters only (does not include down spouts and elbows Price: $828.00 Install Leaf Relief Gutter protection system Price: $720.00. So now the price is $1,548.00 WITH an Angie's discount included. After seeing the price jump over 68% it didn't look as appetizing as it did earlier. I am glad I checked on the vague description before getting the sticker shock. The other issue has to do with my roof.... I recently had a metal roof installed on my home and leaks developed with 2 skylights subsequently. I realize they are not the fault of this roofer so no beef there. I just asked if they could be repaired. I am not sure why it took so long to get an answer but I eventually found out after numerous calls that the owner was not interested in working on it. I would have liked a call with an explanation but never got one until I dug and dug and finally got the reason why they wouldn't work on it. I offered some alternative ideas and Tony promised some calls back and even a return visit.... but for some reason, I am never called back. Trust is a big issue with me... I don't know what kind of work they do... but the early dealings I had lead me to believe it is best to look elsewhere. That's my honest opinion. I am not out to get anyone... I just received an email from Angie's list requesting a review from a member and this is it.
Description of Work: So far, I am still waiting for answers to questions asked many weeks ago.

I think the verbal communicatins with regard to the member's gutters could have been better but I don't think "Replace gutters only (does not include down spouts and elbows)" is a vague statement. In fact I think it's quite clear. I don't know why he wasn't quoted gutter guards at first, and I don't know that he asked for that originally. Either way I will accept responsibility for some communication issues with his gutter quote. His roof is a different story. He hired a butcher to put an agricultural metal roof on his home. His skylights leaked from day one. The other guy caulked them many times but couldn't get them to stop leaking. We don't caulk, tar, or pookey metal roofs. I gave him a professional, permanent solution to his problem, which he refused to entertain. He then came up with several "solutions" he wanted us to try, which I refused. He didn't have to pry an answer out of us, I wasn't interested in his solutions because I knew they wouldn't work. In the end we were unable to give him a solution we could both live with. I can fix almost any roof, but I can't perform miracles. Paul Wright

Considering a major storm had blown through are area and I would imagine their call volume was heavy they were very responsive and did their best to set up appointments for the work and estimate. The whole process took about a week and a half. I consider this a very good response time with all the work they had on their plate. Salesperson (Bruce) communicated very well and was very professional. He was a little late for our appointment, but did a good job keeping us up to date when he would be there. Work crew came and fixed our problems with no mess and gave us a written description of what they did. I would highly suggest this company

You pretty much have the whole story. The only do/don't I have is the reminder that the lowest price is not always the best choice. But the work I received for the lower price was not incompetent.
Description of Work: Appointment was very soon after I called. Very responsive. I was extremely impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of the estimator. I went with another firm because at the time I could better afford their quote. However, the cheaper firm was not very professional. There is no way to know for sure, but I suspect Wright would have done a better job.

I signed and returned the proposal on 7/8/2011. I didn't hear anything from them for almost a month. Finally, I called them on 8/4 and I got the impression they had forgotten about me. Maybe it was the size of the job. They scheduled me for the following week and work was completed on 8/9/2011. This failure to communicate caused me to lower their overall score. I found no fault with the workmanship. The repairmen were prompt, efficient and cleaned up all debris.

The member called us for an estimate on 7/12/11. We met with him the next day 7/13/11 and provided a written quote on the spot. We received a signed contract back from him on 7/20/11 and told him the schedule was 2-3 weeks. We performed his repair on 8/9/11 and as of today, 9/18/11, we still have not been paid. Like anyone whose schedule is very dependent on weather, we are sometimes "behind" in our schedule. In this case however, we did his job within the time frame he was promised.

We got three estimates for the work. We chose Paul Wright both because the representative, James Schultz seemed very knowledgeable and competent and because the price was better than the other contractor we were considering. He made suggestions about removing the metal that we had on the roof and the roof looks much better without the metal. The work was done in a timely manner by a competent crew that did not disturb our routine at all. They worked independently in very hot weather and finished the job in less than 2 weeks to thunderstorms and extreme heat. Our house is a 1915 twin so there are several surfaces that had to be covered. They put rubber on all the dormers and shingles on the rest of the roof. They replaced some plywood and re-shingled the porch roof. They protected the roof when they could not work on it.The customer service contact, Cheyenne was very responsive and professional as well. I would definitely use them again if I ever move and need a new roof.

I contacted them and a few days later Tony came to my house. I told him what I wanted, which included installing an attic fan. He told me that a fan wouldn't cool the house due to the existing roof venting, so I dropped that from the list. He climbed his ladder to look at the chimney, took pictures and measurements, and told me he would get me a quote in a couple of days. I had a couple of other roofers come to the house and neither of them climbed up to the chimney to evaluate the problem (water was running down my basement wall in hard, driving rains.) He thought it most likely that the chimney needed re-flashing, although he couldn't guarantee that was the problem. But it was the least costly place to start. He also had a sample of the Leaf Relief gutter cover, as well as a pamphlet, both of which helped me make my choice. The other roofers were selling different kinds of cover, but didn't have samples. The only hitch in the process was the amount of time I waited for the quote, which was about three weeks, and included a couple of phone calls and emails. However, once I received the quote, I returned it with a 25% deposit, and then received a confirmation card. In about a week the work was scheduled. The installers arrived on time. I left once they got started. When I returned home from work, the Leaf Relief was installed neatly and there was no trace of installation materials, the old gutter covers, or any debris. The next step was to wait for rain. Leaf Relief has small holes, providing less surface area for the water to drain compared to the mesh cover I used previously. I researched Leaf Relief and other covers, and decided that the Leaf Relief would probably perform as advertised. However I was concerned about two areas on my roof that have large flow rates during heavy rains. When it finally rained, the water poured off the porch roof rather than flowing into the gutter, as I feared. I took pictures and videos, posted them on the web, and sent a link to Paul Wright Roofing. They came to the house the next day and installed more gutter to direct the flow into the porch roof gutter. It rained a couple of days ago, and the problem is solved. It was great that they were so responsive.
Description of Work: Removed old gutter cover, cleaned the gutters, and installed Leaf Relief. Also re-flashed the headwall detail on the chimney

I found Paul Wright on Angie's List, and called them, along with 2 other companies, for an estimate. My first call to them was late at night (around 9pm). I expected to leave a message, but someone answered. I left a message with the woman regarding my problem and contact info. A week later I called again (during normal business hours) since I had not heard back. Cheyanne was very prompt and courteous, and told me Tony would call me back to schedule an estimate. Tony called promptly, and the estimated was given on the date and time scheduled. Our roof is nearing the end of its' life, but has a few years left. Unlike the other companies, Tony did not push getting a whole new roof on me - just gave an estimate for exactly what I wanted - the skylight removed. He called me that same day (in the afternoon) with the estimate cost, and a proposal was received in the mail, in which I accepted. After a few days, I called again to see about scheduling. I was advised the person who schedules had an emergency, and was out of the office. No problem! I was called a few days later, on a Tuesday, and was asked if they would be able to do it that same day. I was thrilled! I arrived home for my lunch break, and the 2 guys there were polite and professional. They continued to work after I left, and when I returned home for the day, it appeared as if they were never there - not one piece of roofing, debris, etc. They also did not give me any hassle in using the 10% Angie's List coupon =) I was more than satisfied with Paul Wright, and will absolutely use them again when our roof needs to be replaced. Despite the small hiccup with the answering service after hours, they were fantastic!
Description of Work: Paul Wright removed an old, bubble type skylight in my 2nd floor bedroom and roofed over the area where it was removed.

They did very good work, but it was impossible to get a hold of them. It took 9 weeks to get them out here. They didn’t return my calls. They didn’t get back to me. It was weird. Their price was good. I would use them again in the future, but I wasn’t too happy with their customer service.
Description of Work: I used the services of Paul Wright Contracting Inc about a month ago. They replaced gutters and installed new drain pipes.

Member is right. We blew it here. I had hired a new estimator 2 weeks before she called. He met with her on 4/1/11 but didn't provide the quote until 4/29/11. He then didn't get the paperwork processed for another 4weeks. It's just that he was overwhelmed and learning a new system. I'm gratefull Member gave us the oportunity to do her work. We didn't deserve it.
