Not well. Technician came with mind set that the LG refrigerator was not making any ice likely because the compressor was bad. After getting him to focus on the ice maker, he recommended a specific very expensive replacement which would have to be ordered. Checking on lgparts.com revealed the recommended unit was not compatible with my refrigerator and the correct replacement could be purchased on-line for $50 (30%) less than Bobal's price for proper replacement. Appointment scheduling was easy by phone with pleasant scheduler but I declined any further assistance from Bobal. Be wary of Bobal's business practices.

I've used this company before and thought they were good so I gave them another chance, but this time was different. They were coming out for the exact same issue so I'm not sure it was even fixed the first time. It took 3 weeks to get an appointment which I understand because everyone is short staffed. However, I asked to be the first or last appointment of the day because I work and I live alone. When I called the morning of they told me my appointment would be around noon which made it very difficult as I had to leave work. I ended up being charged more than the last time. I couldn't stay because I had to get back to work so I was charged for labor during the time it took them to call me with a cost for service. They also didn't call before they came as promised so the man just showed up at my house without any notice and I was still at work. Prices have also gone up since the last time I used them and the woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude when I said how upset I was about being charged extra for the phone call to me (from 15 minutes service to 30 minutes service doubling my bill). It's disappointing to be treated this way. I'll be using a different company from now on.

Once we determined I was not going spend the money to replace my Samsung washer .... Do not buy Samsung!!! He was patient not in a rush to get on to his next visit which only made me feel like my problem was important to him. He educated me on washers today it’s not something we buy every day and it’s pretty obvious the reviews don’t work. I can’t say enough good things from the very beginning when I called to speak with the friendly customer service rep. to when the technician walked out my door thank you very much!!!
Description of Work: With the experience of the technician they were able to tell me, in seconds, what was wrong with my washer.

Fantastic. very quick to return call to set up service. Next day repairman came to house, he was amazing. showed me everything that was wrong, how he would fix it, the cost, ordered the parts on his tablet right from my kitchen. Came back about a week later and took care of the repair. Would use again if needed ( I should say when needed).

Never happened. First Lowes scheduled the appointment. However, when the Bobal called a couple days later they said the appointment couldn't be scheduled because they didn't have the serial number. Unfortunately I was on the road and didn't have the serial number available. That was an extra step. Secondly, when I did try to schedule they couldn't provide a delivery time. Not a 2 hour window, not a 4 hour window, nothing. I called the day before to attempt again to narrow the time and request for the afternoon so my entire day was not wasted sitting around the house. I mentioned that they make it difficult for the paying customer. Not everyone has a day to sit around the house. I was then lectured on why this was in a not an overly friendly tone. At any rate, I didn't appreciate that and cancelled the appointment. I didn't initially choose this company nor would I in the future.
Description of Work: I bought a new fridge from Lowe's. Unfortunately it was leaking water. Lowe's contracted Bobal to come out and do the repair.

Sorry we were not able to be more specific regarding the time of day for your refrigerator service in January. I do see that you did in fact did reschedule for April 3rd and repair was completed on April 6th. Since we did not collect any money from you on this 1st year manufacturers warranty I am a little disappointed that we received an F rating on a repair that was completed in your home and would appear to be working fine for you. They came out and told me the tub was cracked and, since the washer was 25+ years old, I decided to replace it.

The first appointment I could get was almost 2 weeks out from when I first called. Finally on Feb 1 the technician showed up on the scheduled time. He was professional and friendly and diagnosed that the drain motor was shot. The estimate to fix was $90 in parts plus $60 in labor. This was in addition to the initial visit cost of about $100. While this was high, it was better than trying to buy a new washer, therefore I agreed. The problems started in them trying to locate the part. It's seems like they could not purchase it from their Samsung supplier as it was not in stock. When I mentioned to them it was readily available on Amazon and was cheaper than what they quoted, they mentioned they can't use part from Amazon otherwise they could not warrantee the work. They said they'll try to procure it and get back to me. I did not hear back for a while and then I started checking with them by calling them twice a week. It took them 3 weeks to finally get the part which I could have gotten from Amazon in two days. Once the part was available they came and installed it on Feb 22. I was told all is good to go. Alas it was not. The first cycle I ran after the repair now got stuck in spin. I called back and they send the technician back on Feb 27. This time the technician said that it was going to cost more to fix the machine than buying a new one. So after 6 weeks of hassle of visiting a laundromat, multiple calls to Jim Bobal, three visits and total $260 later I was in the same boat as before, without a working washing machine. If I had to get a new washer i could have done it 6 weeks earlier avoiding so much hassle. I called to complain about this and to their credit they issued a refund for the cost of the pump ($90). However that is still not close to the inconvenience I had to go through while still being out close to $160 from Jim Bobal and another $50 in laundromat. Not a very pleasant experience unfortunately.
Description of Work: My samsung washer was stuck in rinse cycle, Jim Bobal tried to fix it but did not succeed.

Came in, did troubleshooting and ordered the part. Couple days later when part came in they came back, installed part and all is operating great. Very professional, polite (wife was at hime handling this), punctual and professional. Highly recommend them and would use them again.

Within 15 minutes, Rick diagnosed the problem and provided a temporary fix until warrantied parts could be ordered and installed. UE code was being caused by a loose part. Rick was very knowledgeable and methodical in his approach to the repair. I would not hesitate to use Rick again.

Dryer is now fixed and working well.
Description of Work: We were having a problem with the Dryer not turning on. When I called they were able to get someone out within the next day. He cleaned up the contacts doing what he thought was the minimum required to get it working. He also observed that we had a breaker problem and recommended not using the drying until that had been resolved. Keith was very knowledgeable and clearly loved what he does.

they wanted a infalted amount for new GE gas dryer knobs, and really didn't fix/repair anything, so they came=out and told us what we already knew....a waste of time and a service fee.....the service tech wasn't real positive to deal with, either.

First I found them on your list. I called, dealt with a caring and very professional woman named Lisa. We want over appointment times, replacement part times and costs. Rick showed up on time and went right to work. He identified the problem---(-the blower wheel on my dryer was shot), went to the truck ,returned part in hand. He fixed the problem, tested the repair, wrote the bill all in 14 minutes. He was clean about his work, removing dust and lint as he went. It was a superb experience. I did call his office to applaud Rick's work.
Description of Work: In 14 minutes, he identified the problem with the dryer, fixed it and was out the door. This impressed me because they charge $20. for every 15 minutes and this man did not milk it.

Spent many hours looking for a new slide-in range since it had to fit into existing cabinets and counter. A friend stopped by and I mentioned the problem. He shined a flash light at the fan and found a piece of insulating tape caught in the fan blade, pulled it out and solved the noise problem. Bobal refused to refund my $80. Bobal said that they told their technician to check the fan more carefully next time. Update: recieved check in mail for consultation fee with no note or apology
Description of Work: GE range had a very noisy fan. The serviceman checked it and said I needed a replacement. Called back later to say that the fan was no longer available for this model and I needed a new range. Fan could not be repaired.

We are always sorry to see an unhappy customer. WOW a D after refunding all the money because we did not provide an apology? Either I am getting too old for this or consumer’s expectations are even higher than I thought. In all fairness we did delay on providing a full refund as the finding tape on the fan blade is a unlikely problem for noise as there should never be any tape in this hot area. None would be placed there in manufacturing and we never serviced this product before. My tech would not go looking for tape in area that normally runs above 125 degrees as it would be unsafe. Nonetheless in the interest of keeping the customer happy a complete refund was made.

The service call when well and I am able to use my dryer. Unfortunately, I am not happy with my Samsung dryer. It is only 2 years old and should not have a motor and a bearing problem. I will follow through with Bobal appliances for further repairs,
Description of Work: Rick listened to my concerns. Then he had to disassemble the dryer in order to assess the several noises that were coming from the dryer. He was able to diagnose and fix what he could and recommend parts for a future repair.

Some years back (before the advent of Angie's List) we used Jim Bobal and were very satisfied with his response and work. This time water was gathering at least twice a day below the vegetable drawer, and after searching for solutions on the internet and deciding that I would rather not attempt the repair, I called Jim Bobal's office. After a very pleasant response and fast scheduling, the repairman (George) came on time and was able to decide what needed to be done and make the repair--all in about 15 minutes. The charge was well under a hundred dollars, and George gave me several tips so that I could avoid the same problem in the future. In addition to the above, I was amazed that George analyzed the problem immediately even though the repair was not shown on the internet as one of the two most common causes of this type of leakage. I have never had a more satisfying experience with a service call.

George G. arrived as scheduled (we called the day before and he was able to get here the next day). He was very friendly and helpful, and knew exactly what the problem was. He took part of our freezer apart and defrosted it. He then put a new drain part into the back of the refrigerator (a better design than came on the refer from new). It has worked perfectly since (about 2 months so far).
Description of Work: Repaired Whirlpool Refrigerator so it stopped leaking defrost water on the floor.

Staff was friendly and it was easy to schedule an appointment. Repairman came out to look at the oven and was professional and brought all his tools with him. Identified the problem and while authorized my credit card payment placed order over the phone with main office for the part I needed. They called to schedule the repair work once the part was delivered, which only took a few days. Follow up visit the tech installed the part. I called in the morning for a window for when the tech would arrive and they were on time, friendly and professional. Proper paperwork was provided to document my issues and outline my total costs. Repairs were done sufficiently in a timely manner.
Description of Work: A lightening strike close to the house fried our oven. Needed an appliance repairman out to diagnose the problem and fix.
