Dave personally visited my home, emailed me an estimate promptly thereafter, and answered all my questions before we signed the contract. He was very patient in responding to my many questions and very thorough in his explanations. He is very knowledgeable and recommended as one of the best when it comes to Rinnai tankless water heaters and is listed on Rinnai's web site as one of their authorized dealers. Also, his price was much more reasonable in comparison to the other 2 quotes we had received. And, he registered our Rinnai tankless water heater for warranty right away, for which Rinnai sent us a confirmation email. He also advised us to looked into rebates offered by our electric company, which resulted in my finding a $300 rebate available through PPL. A nice bonus since we were going to get the water heater anyway. We received his name not only from the Rinnai web site but also from friends who used his company to install their Rinnai tankless water heater over 5 years ago, with no problems or issues since then. The install was done by 2 of his employees, both very experienced installing tankless water heaters, one of which had installed my friend's water heater 5 years back. The only issue was that there was a delay or change to the arrival time on the date of the install, for which a phone call in advance would have been appreciated, but besides that, overall the employees were very diligent and I am very pleased with their work and my overall experience.
Description of Work: Install a Rinnai tankless water heater and water filtration system.

Have an old oil heating system that's been acting up. Hadn't been cleaned in 3 years. Went onto Angine's List and sorted by grade and number of reviews. I noticed that some of the big names (UGI, Dietrich, etc.) showed up at the top. I wondered to myself if that has something to do with their marketing budget. More exposure, more vans, more manpower, more jobs equals more reviews? I decided to take the contrarian view and look for someone who had a high grade but only a few ratings (less marketing power, less vans but quality service). It paid off: they came the same day, their price was 20% less than what was quoted to me by the and quot;bigand quot; guys and they gave me an honest assessment of what was going on. They gave me several options based on their findings and I ended up going the cheap route to keep the thing going for a little while. In the end, the service was honest, thorough and professional. Satisfied. Check them out.

We made a decision to purchase a Rinnai Tankless Water Heater prior to reaching out to Dave Grunstra. We found Dave Grunstra based on Rinnai's website as a preferred installer for their water heaters. I placed a call to Dave and within 24 hours my call was returned and an appointment was set up. Dave walked us through which tanks would be best for our home. We have a 4 bathroom home and decided to go with the RU98I model. An agreement to purchase and install was signed on December 10, 2012 and installation was 12/31/2012. Two of Dave's men arrived on 12/31 at 8:00am to begin the installation. The installation took about 7 hours. The old water heater and venting had to be removed and the new water heater installed. This was a complete conversion of oil to propane and his men worked well with my propane installer who was also on-site. His men were very polite and friendly and made sure that everything was cleaned up and removed when they were finished. We had a snow storm a few days prior to installation and the oil tank could not be removed through the back of my house due to icing. A decision was made to bring the oil tank through our living space and out the front door. I felt that this was the safest way to remove the tank. They took great care in the removal so nothing in my house was hit. This decision required them to come up 2 separate flights of stairs to get through my front door. They did an excellent job removing the tank since this removal process was of great concern to them. Received a call from Dave Grunstra to set up an appointment so he can further explain the system to us. I am extremely happy with the workers and the job they did.
Description of Work: Replace our oil fired hot water heater with a Rinnai tankless propane Water heater.

I spent $2600 on that service and it was for a replacement of a water heater. He was very professional and the installation went very well. They left the basement in almost better condition than they found it. They were very responsive and they were a great contractor to deal with it. The price was a little expensive and it was a higher model.
Description of Work: I used Dave Grunstra Heating & Air Conditioning on the 1st of September for heating and air-conditioning work.
