 + -1 moreMy entire experience was A-1. CT continuously is evaluating the quality of anti-maleware products. When it is time for an upgrade, I will return to CT for its latest recommendation.
Description of Work: My desktop computer was having multiple problems. Computer Troubleshooters (CT) 1) cleaned off numerous viruses, 2) installed their recommended anti-malware software, 3) checked by flash drives and backup drive for viruses and other malware. The company received a B for punctuality only because it did not give me a completion date for the work. However, the work was completed in a reasonable amount of time considering the problems. Subsequently, I took an old, very troubled laptop to CT for diagnosis and repair.

Description of Work: My son tried to fix his broken screen on his laptop. Kourtney of CT said they have a standard rate to review and assess the computer. She contacted me within a couple of days and told me the computer board was blown, but the hard data was retrievable. She said she would transfer the data to another computer with no additional cost.

I thought they were a little expensive, but they did good work in a timely manner and the service came with a warranty. The gentleman was very polite, helpful and accommodating. My computer has worked just fine since then and seems to be running a bit faster.

Description of Work: I needed a wireless router installed so I walked ( one block) up the street to troubleshooters. We discussed the job for a few minutes and Tim said he would be down in a bit. Upon his arrival we went upstairs to my office. Tim got busy installing the router but could not get it to work properly. After some time spent on this Tim asked me what was the composition of the wall. I replied that it was brick and concrete. That was the problem. Tim walked back to the shop and got a longer cord. The router was installed in the bedroom and worked properly

 + -1 moreWoman's PC crashed when I was using it. I couldn't debug it, so I took it to COMPUTER TROUBLESHOOTERS OF WEST ALLENTOWN, which is near where I live. I think I had learned about them from Angie's List. They had it done sooner than expected. I was slightly upset at the price, but not with anything else. I would use them again, if they fix Macs (I don't know if they do), because that's what I use now.
Description of Work: It was three years ago, and it wasn't my PC. I forget the details, and I no longer have the receipt.

 + -1 moreTook my laptop in because I thought it had a virus. Computer Troubleshooters did a scan and found no virus. They then did further diagnostics and found two problems, major problem with hard drive (many bad sectors, I think) and incorrect settings and an old version of Internet Explorer. They updated IE and corrected the settings, and replaced the hard drive (copied everything from my old drive to the new one). They gave me prices up front, and were very fair. Very responsive, kept me informed, and did the work quickly. Completed the work when promised. I suppose their prices are "the going rate", I don't have anything to compare it to, as I rarely need computer repairs. Given their performance in all other respects, I would use them again -- they seem trustworthy, competent, and fair.

 + -1 moreI may give them another chance, I'm sitting on the fence about it right now. My problem was a little bit odd, they are probably fine with more conventional service needs.
Description of Work: My CD drive would not open up. I was advised that the burner needed to be replaced, even though I had already replaced it a couple of years earlier. I was offered a refurbished part, I reluctantly decided to accept it. They performed the service within a couple of hours which was very good. The replacement burner works faster, but I still have occasional problems opening up the drive. The old burner did work fine, just not as fast as the new one, but I the main reason why I got my computer was serviced was to open and close my drive with no more problems and this did not get accomplished. I have not come back there only because I have been exremely busy, but I will probably revisit this issue soon when I get a chance. They seem to be decent enough people, but I feel that they misdiagnosed my problem.

Description of Work: The service cleared up some software problems that made my computer unusable in several important functions. It was accomplished in less than an hour, so the minimum charge was imposed. The work was well done and the price consistent with service charge for other services.

 + -1 moreStopped into the shop about 9:30am to talk to someone about my problem. I dropped the tower off about 11:30am. At 3:40 I got a call that the computer was ready to be picked up. Unbelievable. I took the computer home, hooked it up and thought I had a new computer. Will be going back there for future service.
