This company has a great reputation online and very positive word of mouth from my friends and family. They've certainly earned it. The three movers showed up on time to the storage unit, and loaded the truck within an hour. All were very professional and nice to me and my wife. They unloaded the truck into the house in about 2.5 hours, and put everything where we asked them to. They even asked us to do a walkthrough afterwards to see if anything needed to be moved around in the house prior to them leaving. They put down runners and pads, did not bang up any of the walls, and all of our contents are intact.

The driver and helpers came the day before the move and packed everything. They were very efficient and careful and even watched out for our cat when he got out of the room we were trying to keep him in. The next day another worker came and packed up the items that weren't done the day before and then the truck came as scheduled and everything was loaded without incident. We lived on top of a very narrow lane on a cul de sac and one moving company seemed to think that we would require a "shuttle" which would cost significantly more money. South Hills Movers were fine with the location and the driver had no problem bringing the full size tractor trailer onto our street and backing back out. In NC we had the same driver and a new crew unload and they again were very careful and took the time to make sure everything went in the rooms we wanted it to go. My only slight complaint would be that our stuff was picked up on a Wednesday and not delivered until 10 days later. However, this turned out to be not such a problem when our house closing was delayed in PA and we had to push everything back in NC so we couldn't get into the new house right away anyway. The good news is that our load weighed a little less than the estimate so the cost was lower too.

We got an estimate ahead of time, and the costs stayed true to the estimate. We had some very large plants and two large, glass terrariums, and they were moved with no damage. Our crew - Mike, Jeff and Steve, were all very polite and nice and worked very hard. The job took about 6.5 hours total - we have 3 bedrooms and a basement with lots of stored items and a washer and dryer and a digital piano in addition to the living and dining room furniture. Overwhelmingly, our experience was excellent. The ONLY SMALL complaints I have are these: they ran the truck over a small corner of our lawn - but the driveway is narrow and they were moving the truck closer to the house to save time (and money!) so it wasn't a big deal - the grass will grow back! They did apologize for "turfing" the lawn. And, when disconnecting the power cord from my piano, they broke the socket. I was able to tape it back together so that the plug stays in place, so again, not a big deal. I probably should have removed the cord myself in the first place, but I didn't think about it ahead of time. Some moving companies will disconnect and re-connect the washer and dryer, but they do not. We knew about that upfront so we were prepared for that - but it would be really nice if it was an option. We would recommend them highly, and we would definitely use them again - but I really hope that we don't have to move again any time soon!!

Bonnie was our contact person and very on top of things. She called us each step of the way with updates. One piece of info that would have helped us a lot was the delivery date, but this seemed mostly due to our short time-table for the move. They gave us a range but when we were packing we still didn't know they fixed date they had settled on. Again, probably not an issue when you allot more time. We liked that we'd have the same movers on both ends, Ron and Zach. They were great guys and we really felt our stuff was in good hands. On the Pittsburgh end they had two more guys helping them, all nice and courteous. They made quick work of moving our stuff into the truck. They noticed a couple things we hadn't packed very well and took time to pack them better. They did a very thorough and safe packing of a large computer monitor. On the San Francisco end, they called us the night before to confirm the time in the morning they'd bring over the goods. They arrived punctually and did a walk through our new apartment to get a sense for where everything was to go. The first thing they brought in was the trickiest, an awkward piece of furniture that barely fit through our doorway. It got a little damaged, and we're working now with South Hills to make a claim using the insurance we purchased. I'll update with how that goes. Fortunately, that was the *only* thing that was damaged or missing in the whole move. I've heard horror stories from friends, of movers rolling boxes down their steps, and these guys set my worries completely at ease. We enjoyed chatting with them, learning about their profession and stories from the road. Overall, a very positive experience and I would recommend South Hills to anyone. If we move again, we're asking for Ron and Zach.

Estimate given was very accurate to total cost based on weight of truck. Loaded truck in Pittsburgh at approximate time given and unloaded in Houston within 10 days as stated. Unloading was just as quick. Would recommend this local company for any type of move.

The moving staff was excellent. They did the hauling. They were fast. They were courteous. They were energetic and enthusiastic.

From the beginning when we contacted the company for an estimate until the service was rendered, all the staff involved were very professional, punctual, and efficient.The lady who visited us for an estimate was vibrant, friendly and professional. And also, on the moving day, three gentlemen showed up in our previous house 10 min before the appointed time and worked professionally, efficiently, and in a friendly way until the moving was done. They finished everything in 4 hours, and in fact we paid less than the original estimate. It was a very pleasant experience, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this company to anyone who wants to have a smooth and wonderful moving experience. Overall, I was satisfied with the service. There were a few guys who came to move me. I had a little issue with one of them, but it was worked out. One of them was VERY nice and accommodating and he really helped make the move easier and much less stressful for me. They moved everything quickly and without damage, (which is more than I can say about my previous movers). In a review I read before using them, someone had complained about dealing with the office, but I had no problem with them. They were nice and efficient and things went smoothly. I would use this moving company again.

Like the sales person, very professional and came out twice to deliver the packing boxes. The crew arrived on time and a few of them worked harder than others. Overall, it was acceptable but definitely took longer than we think it should because not all crew members were working as hard. The resources in the entire 5-6 crew could have been utilized more evenly. Furniture had minor damages and some pieces were missing. The grand piano suffered some damages. Rose from claims department was great to work with. She took care of the items promptly.

We really liked that the same crew loads and unloads you. You get familiar with them and they were great. Everything arrived in perfect order and there were no issues at all. We would recommend them to anyone. This price included furniture insurance.

I have moved many times - from across town to across the country - and South Hills Movers was BY FAR the best moving company I have ever worked with, throughout the entire process, from estimate to follow-up. I had three different companies come to give me quotes, and South Hills Movers was the only company that actually used an iPad program to estimate every room of my move, rather than the "back of the napkin" estimates provided by the other two companies. One of the companies was slightly higher than South Hills, but the other was extremely low, and I could tell that they didn't know what they were doing. The professionalism from the very start made me feel much more comfortable in this rather complicated (two locations and two dates to one location) move. Originally, I thought I would be able to do the whole move together with just a charge for an extra stop, but issues with picking up downtown from my office made me have to reschedule the office part of my move - and South Hills was fantastic! The crew was extremely careful with my furniture, and took the time to explain what they were doing and why - it is obvious that they are true professionals who do their work with great care for the customer. I would highly recommend South Hills Movers to my friends and neighbors that would ever need moving services in the future, and I strongly believe that they provided a great value (and peace of mind!) for my stressful move!

I had everything packed and in my garage ready to go when they picked up on April 1st. When they finally brought my furniture they showed up 3 hours late and just dropped off and did not unpack anything. I had to unpack and assemble an entire bed room. They where to much in a hurry to leave instead of helping the client unpack. Calls to the Vice President of the company Gary Lee had to be made to find out where there truck and employees where.

Overall, everything from packing, moving, unloading was terrific. same comments as above.

The experience was pretty much flawless. They showed up when they were supposed to and the movers were nice. They didn't break anything. The estimate that was given was fair and I'm about to use them for a third time.

We had South Hills Movers move our furniture and books from a two bedroom, third-floor walk-up apartment to a 3 bedroom house. From scheduling the estimate to the end of the actual move, the process was smooth and as pleasant as moving can be. When I contacted the company looking for an estimate, I received a call back in a timely fashion and was able to schedule an estimate for the next day. Tammy provided the estimate, and she was very pleasant and professional, explaining everything on the estimate in detail. Setting up the move was easy. On the actual day of the move, the movers arrived on schedule and managed to get everything out of our apartment amazingly quickly. They were very careful with our things, wrapping everything thoroughly, and one of the movers was even able to give us some information about one of our pieces of furniture that apparently is a collectible item (we had no idea). At the new house, they were very careful not to damage anything or to track unnecessary dirt inside--I was actually amazed at how clean everything was after they left. The 4 movers were able to accomplish the move within the estimated time-frame (another moving company had told me I'd need 5 movers and more time), and they were very professional, affable, and respectful. The price was a bit higher than I would have liked; however, South Hills quoted me a lesser amount of money than the other company from which I received an estimate, and the actual cost of the move was ultimately even a bit lower than the estimate. All in all, I would say that it was definitely worth the money to get service and expertise like that. I'm hoping that we will not be moving again for a very long time, but when we do I'll be contacting South Hills again; in the meantime, I'm recommending them to everyone I know.

We needed to do a local move (< 30 mi.), so I contacted South Hills Movers on 15 Feb for an estimate. Ron Martin showed up exactly at the agreed upon time the following Monday morning (18 Feb) to take a walk through the house and had an estimate of $1,067.97 for me later that day. While South Hills Movers' estimate was a bit higher than some of the other companies I'd called, South Hill Movers' overall professionalism and commitment to quality really won me over. The fact that they do background / drug screenings on all employees and that their employees only work for SHM instead of transiently was also a big plus. As a result, I called back on 20 Feb and scheduled our move for the following Monday, 25 Feb. Bonnie in the SHM office was a big help and being able to do all the paperwork via e-mail was an immense time saver. Joe, Carl & Robert showed up only about 10 minutes late on the morning of the 25th and got to work right away. Joe mentioned that they work fast and wasn't kidding. They had originally scheduled 5 hours for the move, but thanks to their hard work it only took about 3 1/2 hours from start to finish and the final cost came in $300 under the original estimate. The only thing that could've made me happier was if SHM came in and put everything in boxes for us. Moving sucks, period, but South Hills Movers made it a much nicer process for us. If you're in the Pittsburgh area and need a mover, I HIGHLY recommend them!

The move was handled with 3 persons and was done very professionally. The movers were careful while moving the things ? no scratch or damage. The move was completed ahead of estimated time. They are good

I called South Hills Movers on a Monday, they sent someone to give me an estimate on Tuesday, and were able to move me the following Monday. I realize this was possible because it was January and would not expect the same availability in the summer but I was thrilled because I needed to move quickly. The three ment that were assigned my move were completely professional and tood great care with my belongings as well as both houses.Once they started working, they never stopped or even slowed down until the move was completed.

They came out when they said would. They did well with my antique pieces.

I interviewed three moving companies. South Hill was the most professional. Their estimator came equipped with a laptop where she registered everything that was to be moved. Had a printout ready for me when the estimating was over. On moving day, the truck arrived right on time. No problems loading the truck. Despite being delayed 12 hours by a snowstorm in West Virginia, the moving truck arrived three days early. They called me to tell me they'd be early (which I appreciated). This enabled me to be there when they arrived. No problems unloading the truck. Furniture in good shape. The actual bill ($1974) came in $1400 less than their estimate. A very pleasant surprise! I'd recommend these guys to anyone.

It was good service. It was a bit pricey, but good.

Appointment with sales representative for quote made quite easily by one phone call to Customer Service, who are friendly. Sales Representative came on time and explained about the estimate in detail and it was reasonable. Moving crew came on time and these three men were polite and their work was efficient. They came 8:30 am and started to load in and finished moving everything in to new location by 11:30 am, which was shorter than estimated time. Nothing was broken and they placed card board underneath the furniture to avoid dirt on furniture. We were able to save few hundred dollars than other company's quote and we were so happy with this move.

I moved to NC after 70 years in PA.. This was my first move ever and South Hills Movers made it very easy for me. The office staff, Tammy and Kelly, were very knowledgeable and returned phone calls promptly. I can't say enough about the movers, Curt and Mark. They were very helpful, considerate and careful of my belongings. Kathy
