It went great. Tony gave me a timely, very competitive estimate, explained the stages of the work that would take place. I checked out several references and I hired him. It took about 2 months before the job started (it was their peak season and he gave me an accurate estimate of the likely time they would be ready to start). The crew showed up, erected scaffolding on all 4 sides of my house and garage, and the work proceeded. Having a 3-story house with filthy brick (think of the steel mill days) cleaned and then having every mortar joint ground out and repointed at the height of the summer is a labor intensive task. R & R's crew members were not just hard working, but they were polite, courteous, and a pleasure to have around. If I had a question or something I wanted to point out or have them communicate to Tony, they politely listened and followed through. They never once told me that they couldn't do anything about it or referred me to Tony. Moreover, Tony did a great job at having his crew finish up and attend to details (reattaching all drainpipes, hardware, cleaning the work area, touching up paint where needed, etc.) The most important thing is that the end result is fantastic-the brick and mortar on my house looks beautiful. I highly recommend R & R Masonry.

Talked to Tony on September 7 and was told that he would be by the next morning. When he did not arivem, I called his office and was told that he would call right back. I never heard from him.

Terrible. I called and talked to them 3 times. Each time they confirmed that had my information and would send someone to look at it. I never got a call back and wasted a week waiting. Will not use them obviously.

The process went very well from beginning to end. I called to schedule an estimate one morning and Tony returned my call that evening. I described what needed to be done and he said he would come out in the next 2 or 3 days to check it out and give me an estimate. I wasn't home when Tony reviewed the project. He sent the estimate in the mail and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of his bid compared to several others I received. In fact, I wasn't sure he actually included all the areas that needed to be repaired. I called Tony and told him of my concerns. He agreed to come back when I was home to be sure we agreed on the scope of the project. He came back the next day and we reviewed all areas that needed repair. Tony said that all the work was included in the estimate he provided earlier. I immediately agreed to have him do the work. He called with a date to complete the repair about a week later. Tony and his crew arrived at my home bright and early the next day. He showed his men what needed to be done and they got to work immediately. While Tony was there, I showed him another small area on the opposite side of my house that needed repointed. He told the crew to take care of it AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! His men did a great job. They worked quickly and efficiently and the result looks great. The new mortar matches the old mortar very closely. The guys were polite and friendly and had everything done in less than half a day. I would give this company the highest recommendation!. I certainly would not hesitate to hire them again. It was a pleasure dealing with Tony and his crew.

The project went great - finished ahead of schedule of under budget considering Tony and his crew did some extra work at included cost. My neighbors came by and have asking for mason's name and company for work on their home if that is any indication of the quality of work. Basically R&R is essentially neighborhood's mason now as anytime our neighbors need work down they call Tony and crew.

R & R Masonry uses several work crews that are each specialized in an aspect of the job. If you hire this company expect to have workers in your house every day until the job is done. Tony does a great job of keeping the work flowing and coordinating all of the numerous details. The first crew showed up on a Sunday morning and proceeded to assemble scaffolding around my entire house. I have a large brick house with various obstacles including trees, fences, and a narrow alleyway. Part of my house is accessible only via neighboring properties. They worked around everything. Construction commenced on Tuesday and was conducted daily through the weekend until the following Sunday when the job was completed and all of the scaffolding was removed. One morning I stepped outside before dawn to find Tony already setting up for the day with a dozen buckets of mortar; arriving before the crew to "keep them on their toes". The work is very high quality and I don't have to worry about crumbling and drafty mortar joints for the rest of my life. I wouldn't recommend anyone else for masonry restoration in the Pittsburgh area. Tony Reber is the real deal.

Amazing service! Tony, owner of the company, was on site multiple times pre day. His team was on site before 7am each day and worked a full day. They were very professional and easy to work with. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! I called them based on the other reviews, but hired them after meeting Tony. It was the best decision I made because he completed all my masonry needs for my old house.

Tony (owner) came out to my house in September and provided a written estimate a few days later. It was actually $200 less than a competing estimate. The work consisted of dismantling two steps which leads up to a brick porch. Each step was 12 feet wide and 3 bricks high. The bricks were cleaned and damaged bricks were replaced with matching bricks from his shop. The underlying concrete base was in good condition and did not need restoration. The area was covered in tarps to protect plants in the area from mortar dust created during the project. The work took 1 1/2 days. The project began Saturday and the crew returned on Sunday to finish. The workmen were professional and cleaned up the site before leaving.

I could not have been more pleased with the total experience with Tony and his team from R&R Masonry. From the outset, my first call was professionally answered by a personable human who actually listened to my request. As I was told, Tony came to the house and provided a written estimate within the next day. The estimate was responsive to what I described even though I was not at home when he visited and it was right in line with my expectations on cost. So, even before starting, R&R was way ahead of other contractors who could barely respond with much higher estimates. Scaffolding was in place within the next few days as Tony said and the following day the demolition team completed their stage of the project. The cement work was done the following day and the next day sealing was applied and scaffolding / cleanup completed. The chimney is in a prominent spot across the front of the house and even has landscape lighting splashed across the front. The end result is well matched, very clean and almost artistically done in addition to completely repaired. The work was needed because of damage over the past harsh winter and time was key to completion prior to the coming winter. Tony's team was easy to work with, clean, quiet with high quality work done by craftsmen. Tony's communications throughout was timely and relevant. And, the bill was less than estimated! My expectations have been exceeded at every step from initial contact to final payment. I would use no one else for future work and will highly recommend R&R in the future. Bob Garrity

Terrible, I took a day off work, only to sit and wait for nothing. No one called to cancel or reschedule. The absolute worst way to treat a customer is to ignore them. Even bad service is better than no service.

Outstanding job. Moisture had caused the bricks to start bowing away from the house and repointing wouldn't have been enough to fix the problem. The bricks had to be all taken down on the upper stories, and the back wall reassembled. The mortar matches perfectly. It's so natural, there's no sign the work was done (other than the problem being corrected). The work was preformed quickly and they also did a great job cleaning up afterward. And they were nice enough to work around an issue with removing and replacing an old air conditioner unit that had to be installed within the wall. Can't say enough good stuff about Tony and his team.

Tony ( the owner ) was very professional and came out and gave me an estimate -then once I selected his company to perform the work, he again came out and we went over the work to be done. He kept me posted on all progress on the job . I could not recommend this company enough.. Excellent job !!!!

I discovered a leak through my living room ceiling, which I quickly traced to the chimney. It was a Thursday afternoon, and I had to go out of town the following week, but I couldn't let the leak continue and rain was in the forecast. I found Reber Restoration on Angie's List and they had great reviews. All of which, I was to learn, were absolutely "spot-on". I called Reber Restoration on Thursday afternoon and explained the situation. They couldn't fit me in on Friday as they were completely booked, but they did a drive-by to look at the chimney to determine what needed to be done, and they fit me into their schedule and did the work the following Tuesday. I was not there, but there was nothing to worry about. They did the work professionally and efficiently, left the chimney and roof clean, and the only evidence of their being there was a beautifully restored chimney. Reber Restoration is professional, courteous, responsive to customer needs, and do quality work. I highly recommend them.

Given the positive reviews here on Angie's List, I was excited to contact R&R for an estimate. Disappointed they didn't follow through.

My wife and I were in the process of purchasing a house and needed a chimney inspection and bid the same day. Tony (R&R Masonry) was the only contractor who was willing to go to the house and give us a price for the repairs on such short notice. After closing on our house, we hired R&R. When work began, they actually started repairing the wrong chimney (my house has two). When questioned, Tony was very apologetic for the confusion and agreed not only to commence work on the correct chimney according to the initial bid, but also agreed to finish and fully repair the other chimney AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. I was very impressed and requested Tony also rebuild a brick window sill which they did for an additional $400. All work was completed within 3 days. Tony met me to inspect the final work prior to receiving payment. I plan to hire this company again.

The owner, Tony, contacted me within 24 hours to arrange a time to come and look at the chimney. I had a leak in my house from cracked bricks so I told him that I was eager to have the work done as soon as possible. I was surprised that Tony got me on the schedule and completed the work within 2 weeks of me receiving the written estimate. Tony kept me constantly informed as to the progress of the job, especially as I wanted to add an additional chimney pot. The two man crew that arrived were professional and friendly and also let me know what they were doing as the days went on. I was amazed at how quickly my chimney was rebuilt.
