R & R Masonry Reber Restoration

Got a few estimates - R&R was the cheapest. Tony mailed me a proposal along with a list of references. His workers completed the job in a day and a half and did a great job. I would use them again.

Excellent. Ended up repointing our neighbor's house too.

First, Tony came very promptly to give us an estimate. He was excellent about returning calls and answering questions. The crew was very careful with placement of scaffolding around landscaping. They were prompt, courteous, and cleaned up completely. Two nice things: one, Tony knew that we were anxious to get the house on the market, so he squeezed our fairly small job in on the weekend. Second, the crew had missed a spot on the porch, and Tony himself came over on Sunday afternoon to fix it. We were delighted with the work and the professional behavior.

Once again, it went smoothly from start to finish. We have used Tony before and I wouldn't even think of using anyone else. He came out the day that I called for the estimate and then called to see if we minded them working on the weekend------we didn't. It took them the two days he thought it would. They are so professional-------set up, do the work, clean up and leave.

R & R made an appointment with me to come on a Saturday or Sunday. I gave them the two-day window. No one ever came. No one called back for a new appointment. I was hiring for repointing a wall, a chimney, and a long parapet.

They were fast and they cleaned up after themselves. There was a little negotiating between what the guy who gave the estimate agreed to versus what the guys who came to do the job understood. All in all I was pretty pleased and their work was very good.

It was great and he fixed everything. He did a very good job. He was here in the morning and stayed till everything was finished. I had no problems with him.

They did a beautiful job and worked hard. They came and did their job.

Great! Tony originally gave me an estimate to rebuild the chimney and repoint 2 walls. When that was more than I could afford right now he suggested doing it in steps and we started with the chimney. Tony does his own work (with help) and takes great pride in doing the job well. In fact, he will not settle for less. The chimney looks like new and you cannot tell where they worked because they matched both the mortar and the brick very carefully. In fact, he purchased two different shades of brick so that he could blend it better than just using a single shade. Tony is an experienced and a skilled craftsman with a great attitude. Not only does he do good work, but he is easy to work with as well. I couldn't ask for more!

THe guys who worked on the house were very courteous, professional and hard working They showed up, did their job, and cleaned up - never had to "babysit" them or follow them around making sure things were done or completed as expected. Overall -Great experience for something that in my opinion was very worrisome for me due to the expense an scope of the job -- I would highly recommend Tony and Company for any masonary job you may be contemplating. Very uncomplicated. I contacted the company, they visited the site and sent a proposal along with a list of references. They were price-competitive, showed up when they said they would, did the job as agreed (including the demolition and debris removal), and were very professional.

I had called three companies and asked for an estimate of repairs to my chimney. An old chimney, suddenly there were gaping holes between the bricks, and pieces of mortar had fallen onto a lower roof. R&R Masonry checked out the chimney and sent me an estimate. In price, it was the middle of the three estimates, but seemed to cover what I wanted. Tony explained what they would do, kept me posted about when they would be able to do it, and came and checked out the work as it was being done. I always get a sick feeling in my stomach when I have to have repairs done and deal with contractors. Not in this case. They were the best. Starting with Tony and including his workers. They were diligent about their work, were courteous to me (and the onlookers in my little neighborhood!) and were conscious of and careful about the closeness of mine and my neighbors' houses, which means a lot to me. They cleaned up all debris -- my house, and both my neighbors, who agreed that they did a great job. The chimney looks new. I made the right choice to pick them!

I originally requested and received an estimate in Feb 2008, and accepted. I was told that there were a few jobs to finish left over from 2007, so after the weather broke and these jobs were finished R&R would schedule my job. For some reason my job kept getting delayed and delayed. Finally, near the end of the summer I contacted R&R to find out if they wanted this job or not. Tony did send email back, apologized, and said they would start within 2 weeks. By golly, this time they did come. The crew was courteous and very professional in attitude and in workmanship. Masonry work like this is a dirty job, but they took pains to keep it under control. They took the time to fix problems, and even made a repair that was not covered in the original contract, it was a matter of pride and doing the job correctly I think. All in all very good work. The only reservation I have about recommending them is this business about delaying from March until October. This delay forced some window trim work to be pushed back to 2009, which would have been better finished before the winter. They did not accept any money until the start of the job. So, had this fallen through I would not have been out any cash. That's a good thing. Calls to the R&R answering service were replied to via email when a conversation would have been more appropriate. This was a bit of a negative. I would certainly use them again, but would stipulate frankness regarding start times.

Tony Reber provided a proposal to provide brick pointing in the spring of 2008. He kept delaying the start date and in September 2008 wrote me a letter stating that he would start in the fall of 2008, but he never started. In March 2008, I made numerous attempts to contact him, and he never returned my calls.

R&R responded immediately with a visit and written estimate when I called asking for a quote. They made subsequent visits as soon as I contacted them, even on a Sunday. The whole job took 2 days, beginning with setting up scaffolding around our house, power washing and removing mortar and repointing and replacing mortar. They are extremely knowledgeable about the best type of mortar to use with old bricks and tinted the new mortar to match the existing material. I trust their judgement completely. They were also extremely considerate of us and our neighbors and made sure to cause as little disruption as possible. They were working under wet conditions and did a terrific job.

Excellent experience. Once we accepted the proposal, the work was scheduled for completion within 3 weeks. The job took one plus days and they came back at our request to address one more crack in our stone retaining wall. All work was excellent in quality. The workers were polite and left no mess behind. Would definitely recommend and would use R&R again.

The experience was great. They came out, gave the estimate and we like the estimate. They came out one day and dropped everything off. They came out the next day and did everything in one day. They came back and got their equipment the next day.

They did a good job. It took about three days to do the job. They used scaffolding. They cleaned up any mess they made. They let me know when my driveway would be blocked. They were very courteous and professional.

Took a little time to get Tony out and estimate back, but after that, flawless - came when he said he would, did the work he said he'd do and did it well. Cleaned up completely; excellent work, professionally rendered, at a fair price.

I called, described area to be fixed, and asked them to stop by and give me an estimate. They promptly mailed me an estimate, scheduled the work and completed the job within a week.

I had some damaged masonry on my place from some leaky downspouts. Tony and his team erected scaffolding and took care of the damaged areas using matching red-brown mortar. I was very specific about what kind of pointing I wanted done in different locations based on the visibility--using tool pointing in the most visible areas. However, their grout pointing turned out as good as the tool pointing, and was more cost-effective.

This company was great. It has good value. They cleaned up very nicely. They did more than was expected. They went around the whole house and fixed things that needed help.

No lengthy wait. Estimate arrived in timely fashion. ($1,900.00)

Received estimate within 24 hours. Work was performed within a week. Mortar was matched to the exact color of existing mortar. Work was completed in two days as promised. Work was on exterior, did not require my presence. They called me throughout the process to keep me informed.

After waiting for a week, we now have to try to find someone else. Since this company was rated highly on Angie's List, we expected we would at least receive a response.
