R & R Masonry Reber Restoration

I liked the owner and his follow ups. He also corrected a lot of problems that had been left by a previous contractor.

Our request for an estimate was prompt. The company owner, Tony, answered all of our questions, inspiring confidence in his ability to fix our chimney. The company had different crews for each aspect of the project. One crew erected the scaffolding, another did the demolition, a mason then came to do the rebuilding and parging, and finally a clean up crew came back to pressure wash our deck and remove the scaffolding. All of the fellows who came were polite and respectful, and most importantly knew what they were doing. The entire project took 4 days. There was less than 2 weeks from the initial contact with R & R Masonry to the completion. We are extremely happy with the whole experience.

Wow! I called on Tuesday, Jan 15th and spoke with Tony about bricking in 2 areas on the back of the house where a door and window had been taken out. This is in an area that we are now just using as a storage shed and we had a very large pile of bricks inside the shed that were from a chimney that had been taken out of our house years before. I told him to use some of those bricks for the job if they would work, or new ones if the ones we had wouldn't work. The ones we had of course had old mortar on them so they would need to be cleaned off. Tony came the same day and sent me an estimate that same night. I called the next morning to schedule the work to be done. He said he'd be able to take care of the job Friday and Saturday the same week. When I got home from work on Friday, the work had already been completed and to my surprise, his crew had cleaned out mostly all of the huge pile of bricks we had in there! I was not even expecting him to do that and was really happily surprised to see that they were cleaned up. Tony called back on Saturday morning to make sure we were happy with the work. I would not hesitate to call Tony again for any future projects.

Okay - came out same day as damage to our chimney to assess and provide us with an estimate (via snail mail). We're still weighing our options to determine how best we want to proceed.

Tony, the owner of R&R, gave us several types of estimates on motar work for our 85 year old brick home. One estimate was to fix problems and others were more extensive such as re-mortaring the entire house. He was prompt with his estimate and gave us a number of ideas how to repair our house. We decided on a total remotar job because of our confidence in Tony. He scheduled the job, had supplies delivered and his men came to work early and on time each day and worked tirelessly (no time off for smoking or phone calls). Tony was on the site supervising several times a day. His crew was very experienced. They first sawed through the old mortar spending a huge amount of effort to remove it from every brick including the chimneys. Each day several men stayed and did a total clearn-up. I was impressed that they brought their own generator and covered our windows and outdoor furniture. The men were professional and very independent and polite. They took great pride in their work. The mortar work was completed on time and on budget. Our house's brickwork looks brand new. Tony knew exactly what color mortar to use to match the age of our house and our neighborhood. It's a pleasure to work with a company of experienced professionals who do very high quality work.

After calling to request an estimate for chimney work at my house, Tony promptly stopped to do an estimate 2 days later. Tony had workers out to erect major scaffolding one day after I notified him of accepting his bid and all work was completed within 2 days. Clean up was excellent and the new chimney looked wonderful! I would use Tony's services again without hesitation.

They did a good job. They were responsive and the price was good as well.

We have used R&R before and I can't say it enough------they are the best! Tony is so prompt and professional. They built the scaffolding, drilled out the old mortar, repointed all in a week. I know speed doesn't trump a job well done but they just work so efficiently and work a full day (which can be rare) that you end up with both. Plus, at the end of the day, they did their best to power wash or blow all the cement dust that was created-------even blew off a neighbors car along with ours. It's a natural mess from a job like this but they couldn't have done any better in the clean up department. And we have always felt that Tony's estimates are very fair. Lastly, the power wash broke a seal on a window. We called Tony and before my husband could finish, he said not to worry------get it fixed and send him the bill. We used a popular Angie's List outfit years ago and were so disappointed------then I found R&R and I wouldn't think of calling anyone else.

I had some mortar that was damaged that needed re pointed. Tony quickly arrived at my home to address the problem and I decided to repoint after a water proofing treatment did not stop water from coming thru the mortar. The R&R crew arrived onetime and completed the repoint. Tony asked me to spray the wall with water the following day to test for leaks. Unfortunately the wall was still leaking. Tony arrived later that day to see the problem first hand. He agreed the water was still coming thru the mortar even after the initial repoint. He had another crew at my house by 7AM the following day to do the repoint again. The second repoint was successful in stopping water intrusion. Tony is a person who stands behind his work and will fix problems when the occur. I recommend R&R for your Masonry needs.

Call for an estimate a Tony showed up later that week. It wasn't clear in the initial estimate whether the lintels would be replaced and the basemant block was included so Tony came back a few days later and redid the estimate. They started the following weekend setting up all the scaffolding around the entire house. The grinding of the mortar started that Monday.

Went very well, it took 2 1/2 weeks to complete and they were here every day, but for one week end.

Tony was very responsive. We asked several companies for estimates, and he was the first to come out and the first estimate we got back. He responded quickly and thoroughly to every question we had, whether we asked in person, by phone, or by email. They were very quick in doing the work. They started on a Friday less than a week after we accepted the estimate, and were done, including clean up, on Monday. The crew was courteous to us and careful of our home and landscaping. A couple of problems arose (cracked plaster indoors behind the window being bricked up and an outdoor light knocked off its bracket), which were dealt with immediately and to our complete satisfaction. We would absolutely use them again or recommend them to others.

We were very pleased with Tony and R & R Masonry. The workers were courteous and cleaned up their materials and workspace. The estimate we received was right in line with the actual cost of the work. Further, Tony stopped by during the job and noticed that we had some loose front steps going up to the door, and had the workers fix those too- free of charge! We would definitely use them again.

After reading the excellent reviews, and noting that he lives 15 min. away, I decided to call. He called me back promptly, saying he would come out, see the problem, and mail me an estimate. Which he did; in a timely fashion the estimate was mailed. After reading the estimate, I called because I wanted to know what HE actually thought the problem was, since I had already had a number of others in giving their differing opinions. He never responded. I called back the second time, telling the woman answering the phone that I didn't have a problem with the price he quoted, but I want to know what, exactly he thought was causing the leak. No response. I have three very barky dogs, and I am home most of the time; and I wonder when he came to inspect the problem? Hmmmmm???? I know my three fur babies would have been having a barking fit with some strange man climbing around on the roof. And, even if I did happen to be out when he was here, why did he not respond to my inquiries???? I was not about to agree to work without talking to the provider. Was I expecting too much??

I have used Tony before and will continue to use R&R for all of my brick repair needs. His service is A+ all the way around. Very responsive, explains everything thoroughly, price is right and his crew does outstanding work. I would not hesitate to recommend R&R to anyone I know.

Tony did an excellent job from start to finish. He took down an existing railing and replaced the damaged brick with flawless execution. He went above and beyond by picking up the brick from my builder rep to pressure washing the area after he was done for a clean finish look. There was a brick that his guys missed, but came back promptly the next day and fixed it. I am typically tough to please when it comes to detail work on my house and he was as advertised. Hire R&R with confidence.

I would give Mr. Reber an A for this particular job. Mr. Reber and his crew did an outstanding job cleaning and sealing my brick work. I highly recommend Mr Reber and his crew to those considering such work.

Tony had his guys in and out in just a few days. They were very punctual, did quality work, and he is great to deal with. Would highly recommend him.

R&R were very professional and prompt. Tony was out at the sight nearly (if not every) day. He'd often stop by in between the work (they were waiting on another contractor to do the windows) to see how things were going. They were very patient given that we had a lot of their scaffolding up at our house for a few weeks. As the scope of the project continued (we started with the old porch area, then added the windows, then added the pointing) Tony was great about explaining the process and getting us updated quotes in a timely manner. The mortar matched our 90 year old morter perfectly, you can't even tell where they bricked the window. They cleaned up the worksite well, and came early in the morning each day they were here. They worked efficiently and as quietly as one can working on masonry. They were great about waiting to do some of the work until the new window/door were installed to cut down on dust in the house. Can't recommend these guys enough - I'm surprised there aren't more reviews on AL because many people on my street and in my neighborhood use them. They were my first 100% positive experience with a contractor during a very large renovation.

From my first call to Tony everything went smoothly. He returned my calls promptly, came over to give an estimate immediately. Sent the estimate along with references and proof of liability insurance. I felt that the estimate was fair and I signed the contract. We had to wait a month to have the work done because I was going to be out of town for that time. When I returned I contacted him and he came out within 2 weeks. The day he and his crew arrived it rained, but they put up tarps and worked under them to get the job done. A man came the next day to high pressure wash and apply the water repellant. There was one item still remaining to be done, and it was completed that day. I was completely satisfied with R & R Masonary Restoration and am already re-commending him to people.

We contacted R & R Masonry August 6. Mr. Reber came the following day. We received the estimate on Thursday, August 8, and the job was performed August 14-15. All of the workers were professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves. We are very satisfied with our choice.

Tony showed up very soon after we contacted him to determine what work needed to be done, and he provided an estimate soon afterwards. We were very pleased with how quickly he was able to schedule the work, and everything went exactly as we would have wanted it to. This was our first experience with Tony, and if we need additional masonry work in the future, we'll definitely go to R&R Masonry Restoration.

I wasted two days trying to meet with them.

The job went very well. I was very pleased with the overall project, and was specifically pleased with their attention to detail. I would use R & R Masonry Restoration again, and I have recommended them several times.
