Initially Carl came out to unclog our sewage after a few times he brought out the camera to look in our lines and saw that the pipes shifted underground and we need needed new pipes and a new house trap. Jeff and Carl came this week to replace everything and they were always on time and got everything completed. They said it would take 2-3 days and it did. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. Great job guys!

I purchased a $59 Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it turned out wonderful. We also had to pay $105 for the labor to put on the new furnace part. My son was here when the technician did the work and my son said the technician was professional, communicated and did all he could to make the price as low as possible. He was in and out of here in an hour-and-a-half. My son was extremely impressed. They are going to be my go-to company for heating and air conditioning.

They were okay. There were additional charges. He did not clean up after himself; there was water on some valuable things in the laundry room. So I mentioned it to him and I threw a rug down and while I was writing out the cheque he did not wipe it up. he seemed to know what he was talking about when he worked on the radiator and the problem was solved and that's the only positive thing I have.

This is my first review. I'm a real estate developer, so only use professional services when there is something my guys can't take care of. Beverly services has been my go-to a few times. I recently had two bad experiences. I asked for an electrical quote for service line replacement, for which they charged me for an electrical checkup. They then took 3 weeks before they sent me a quote. I called 4 times to ask them for the quote, finally got a price. After 4 weeks they finally started the work, but realized that they hadn't pulled the permit. The next week they did the work, called me to say it was done, and I paid the balance. When the electrical inspector came, he told me that only half the job had been done. I called Beverly Services, who for some reason was under the impression they were to only do half the job. The second time, I had a clogged sewer line. I first called roto rooter, who told me the line was absolutely blocked and that I would need a hydrojet cleaning to fix it ($900)(I later found out that they work solely on commission so will often figure out the most expensive service to recommend, even when you don't need it). I called Beverly Services who said they could do it for around $500. The plumber said he would be there within a window of time; I received a call saying that they would arrive in half an hour. After waiting for 1.5 hours I left the house for 5 minutes, I got an angry call from the plumber yelling at me for leaving...I told him I'd be back in 5 mins. When I arrived he told me that he would not do the work because there was sewage (what did he expect?), and they told me to call when it was cleaned up (which isn't cheap by any means). So I had it cleaned the next day and called them to come out before it backed up again...to which they replied they couldn't make it out for 3 days (which of course makes the expensive cleaning service worthless). Custom service, absolutely fantastic! Prices are very reasonable for what we're getting. They actually show up, and they actually do they work they promise. I'm convinced that I must have gotten two bad cases, but two out of three...there must be a breakdown somewhere.

Yes, we did have a communication problem when we were trying to deliver the electrical quote to the customer. That has since been permanently rectified. I personally handled getting the customer’s quote to him on Friday, December 13th. I also gave him a discount for his troubles. After we procured all the supplies and permits we attempted to do the work on Friday, December 20th, but when we arrived at the property the power company had placed a lock on the meter so we could not do the work until they removed it. The customer was not billed for our wasted time that day. The work we were contracted to do was completed on Thursday, December 26th. To avoid any confusion we had the same electrician that originally evaluated the situation and wrote up the quote go to the property and make the repairs. According to my electrician, the customer only wanted us to do part of the job and he would have “his guy” do the rest. Seeing as how the customer is a real estate developer with handymen that he uses this did not seem unreasonable to us. When the customer called to tell us only half of the job had been done and it did not pass the inspection we reminded him that his people were supposed to complete the rest of the work. He did not believe that was the case, so in the interest of good customer service we went out and did work we were not contracted to do to finish the repairs at no additional cost to the customer. The customer then called us for plumbing work on Thursday, February 20th. He stated another company told him he needed a jetting machine to clear his drain. A jetting machine is a machine of considerable size that requires two workers to operate. We typically block off two people for anywhere from 4-6 hours to do a jetting job. The workers have to come into our shop, load the machine into an empty van, drive to the property that needs the work, clear the drain with a stream of highly pressurized water, then return to our shop and unload the machine. As you can see this takes a significant amount of time and must be done during our regular business hours so the workers can have access to the machine and extra vans. We told the customer that we recommended he first have us attempt to clear his drain with a large sewer snake. Snaking a drain is much faster, does not produce the mess a jetting has the possibility of causing, and typically one person can do it. The customer was adamant we jet, not snake. We did rearrange our schedule that Thursday to accommodate the customer and had two employees to the property to attempt to jet his drains. Unfortunately, when our employees arrived they discovered the basement of the property was jammed with personal belongings and boxes, not allowing any access to his drains. We told the customer he would need to move his belongings and call us when the space was cleared out so we could work. We again did not charge the customer anything for the wasted trip, this time for two employees. The following day, Friday, the customer called us at 3pm to have us return to jet the drain. We explained to him it was too late in the day to do a 4-6 hour job and we scheduled him for the next regular business day, Monday. When our plumber arrived he managed to convince the customer to allow him to attempt to snake the drain while they were waiting for the other employee that was on his way with the jetting machine. Our plumber managed to get the drain cleared with the snake and we only charged him for that and did not charge him anything for the employee that was over half way to the property with the jetting machine. It is my feeling that we have been more than fair with this customer, and have more than compensated him for any inconveniences he may have suffered. The install went well, however the technician installed the wrong kind of valve on the line into the hot water tank, which cased my hot water to not work. I called back and the technician was back in about 15 minutes and replaced the valve with the correct one and everything is working great... It was an accident that was immediately fixed and resolved..

It went great! We had a very old AC unit (from the '90s) that was due to go bad anytime. We were having large patio installed in our backyard and the placement of the old unit, in the middle of what would be the patio, was not ideal, so we needed to have it moved and the lines moved over. Two very nice service men came out to do the initial disconnection and talked us into the new unit (we weren't planning to buy a new one, though the thought was in the back of our heads). They did NOT make a hard sell and they weren't pushy; they just suggested we think about it because of the age of the existing unit. We decided, along with our contractor, to just go ahead and make the replacement. Working with them to buy the new unit was very easy and we got a very great price. They don't normally sell the brand we wanted, but were able to get us that brand anyway and it was only a hair more than the equivelant Carrier unit and the original quote (which we expected, since the brand we prefer is generally more expensive). They were able to get everything set up quickly and the two installers were very nice and knowledgeable. They ran the new lines and hooked everything up for us. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely work with them again for the servicing of this unit. I would also recommend them to friends and family.

I used Beverly Services November 2013 for a 1988 mobile home that I bought. I purchased and had installed a new water heater, 2 new commodes and 1 new faucet for the kitchen and 2 new faucets for the bathrooms. Before I purchased anything, I had someone come out and take a look at things to tell me what they thought since I am a first time homeowner. Frank, a journeyman plumber, came out and told me what he thought and then wrote an estimate. After about a month, I called back and asked for Frank and told him what I wanted. After putting a deposit down, he ordered everything and about a week later, came out to install everything. I was very pleased with the professionalism of this company as well as their service and products. The first thing that Frank did when he came to install everything was put something down to protect my carpeting that he would be walking on which I never expected and was impressed with. Everything went great and I am happy with everything that I purchased and had installed from Beverly Services and, yes, I would hire this company again.

Beverly Services responded quickly to my emergency service call on a Sunday. With no heat since Saturday, pending below zero temperatures and a bad experience with another company's service call on Saturday, I was grateful to have such prompt, courteous, and professional service. The part was replaced at a reasonable price and my heat restored first thing Monday morning. It was nice dealing with a company who didn't jack up the price of the service call, entice me with a "service contract", or inflate the price of the part and labor. Thank-you, Beverly Services.

They came when they said they would and found the section of cast drain from a kitchen sink to be so clogged it was easier to replace than chase that clog all the way to the street. The replacement involved cutting the straight section out and replacing it with PVC with adapters on either end. Took less than 30 min even with flushing the drain just to make sure that was the only problem. The gas leak was marked by the home inspector and was a cut off "T" to some long gone gas insert that was in the fireplace. The tech said he would first try and fix by re-tightening the cap on the "T" as the "cheap" fix that sometimes worked. He tightened and checked with meter and pronounced it fixed. This he said was fortunate for me because the other "fix" he would need to schedule another time to come back and re-tighten the entire gas service line starting at the "T" and working to the meter. He gave me an estimate of $850.00 Next day my Realtor called and said she smelled gas in the basement again, this time I called another plumber would had replaced the gas service and meters several months earlier. He doesn't work on drains, only gas lines so I had thought I was saving two service calls by having Beverly do both at the same time. Robert Miller came out that day, checked the "T" and it was leaking. He turned off the gas at the meter and started by disassembling the gas line at the "T", removed that fitting and replaced it with one that just joined the pipe ends, and he proceeded to re-dope and reassemble the entire run back to just before the line went outside the house. Turned on the gas, check every joint with soapy water and then relight the pilot for the water heater. Total cost for the correct and total gas line fix by Robert Miller $100.00 - Wish he did drains!
Description of Work: In response to a slow drain, and gas leak noted on the home inspection of a duplex I was selling that the sale was going to close in less than a week Beverly replaced less than 4 ft of 2in of drain pipe and tightened cap on disused gas fitting.

UPDATE AS OF 1/8/14: Huge and commendable improvement! Saffron, a customer service top end person contacted me within one day of my 2013 Angie?s List review, and made good on their services. In light of their work, I, too, am timely in making good on my review. She sent their most experienced plumber to correct and complete my previous project. It took approximately 3 hours, but in the end, everything was fixed and tidied up. I am now a "happy" customer. What was really remarkable was that on the day he came, our region was experiencing a very bad freezing snap that seemed to paralyze homes and businesses. Their heating and plumbing service staff was undoubtedly overrun with broken pipes, malfunctioning furnaces, etc. But still, they honored an appointment made 6 weeks earlier, whereas I could have easily envisioned them ?canceling? in favor of more lucrative jobs other than my "remodeling" project. I still think their prices are high, and would have rated them as "B" initially (rather than "C" in this update) for price if everything had gone correctly in the first place. Likewise, if I had received the same concern and attention initially, the overall would have been "A" rather than "B" as in this review. But the tech who was dispatched this time is most deserving of an "A" rating for quality and Saffron likewise deserves an "A" for responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism. Thank you Beverly Services ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW, late NOVEMBER 2013 UNPROFESSIONAL doesn't even come close. NEVER, EVER AGAIN! This is for the Beverly Services in Center Township (Aliquippa). I contacted them because of a "coupon" for $25 off services to complete some Plumbing that my husband and I could not, specifically to weld/solder in place a pipe for a shower and install knobs in the shower as part of a remodeling project. I just now found them on Angie's list, hence the delay in a review. I am sure the tech arrived in time, but was PREOCCUPIED with a woman who was neither his wife nor mother of his children, just a "friend in a bad situation". Not my problem I am sure. He kept stepping out to call, and/or text frequently. Then the job was poorly done. The pipe he cut was too long by several inches AND he damaged the stainless steel faucet. He told me the newly purchased item from Home Depot was damaged, and for me to return it on my time to get a new one. HD looked at me very suspiciously when I showed it to them, and they showed me the "teeth" marks where a wrench had tried to force it in place. They reluctantly issued a new one (it was ordered online, and I again had to wait for the online to send it to me). The tech told me he would return to finish the project when the faucet came, but never did. I am out $615 for a lousy job that looks horrible. I was SO DISGUSTED with the whole Beverly Services, I would NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

The house has 2 furnaces which were installed by Beverly for the prior owners who recommended we use them for service. We have been in the house for 8+ years and have the Beverly service guys come out every spring and fall for service checks. The boiler wasn't working on the service check (hadn't turned it on yet) and if the part was needed it would have cost more than $600 in parts and labor. We okayed the order if it was necessary. The office called within a day to schedule the second tech who was able to track the problem to a loose wire. There was no charge for that call and they worked around my busy schedule but to still come out as soon as possible.

Description of Work: I have used Beverly Heating and AC for all their services. This time it was for Plumbing. I noticed the dreaded ceiling leak in the garage and called immediately. Matt came the next day as scheduled. He was thorough and explained the situation to me. I trust this company to make the right decision for the problem. Matt found my tub faucet was cracked and leaking through the grout. He replaced that and also regrouted the tub. Matt replaced the bathroom sink and faucets, also. Perfect!! The area was immaculate afterwards. If this company provides the services I need, I always call them. The jobs could, most likely, be done cheaper, but the peace of mind they provide is so worth it to me.

They arrived on time. He was nice and started right away. I had a wet basement and needed a plumber to tell me the culprit. He found several code issues amounting to 400 dollars but nothing relating back to my soaked brand new carpeted basement. A few days later my basement was in 2-3 feet of black water and horrible smell. I called them back.but they told me and after hours service call would be over 100 and possibly still.not diagnose the problem. I declined that option and asked the plumber to have some one call.me in the morning about coming out during buisness hours. He assured me he would. No one did. 2000 dollars worth of empire carpet ruined all because the sewage drain in the basement floor was clogged.

I understand this homeowners frustration. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to diagnose an intermittent problem. When my plumber was out at this home it appeared the dampness in the basement was due to a leak from an outside stairwell. Where the dampness manifested itself was more congruent with that scenario then a sewer problem. In fact, when all the toilets were flushed and the water in the sinks running, no back up in the main sewer was observed. Although Beverly Services did not cause this homeowners problem, we are still committed to total customer satisfaction and I have left a message for her so we can find a solution to her unfortunate situation. The A/C was not working. We looked at Angie's List. They came out promptly and replaced a part. The problem re-occurred. They came out again very quickly and replaced the part. It was a bad part. There was no additional fee.
Description of Work: Fixed central air conditioning during a very hot summery day.
