Overall, she was very helpful giving me many good ideas and the work done to date looks great. For my bedroom, she gave me good options on artwork, bedding, and painting color choices. For the den, she rearranged my furniture making for a much better flow. She also helped with the design of a curio cabinet that has yet to be built. For my concrete and brickwork, she helped formulate working patterns which is being used to lay down a walkway. On the negative side, believe the majority of her work is on the mainline and charges prices as such. She also seems to have limited knowledge of stains- this seems to be a limitation of all designers so she is consistent on this.

Melanie is a delight to work with. This is our second engagement and I will continue to work with her. She is very creative, has great ideas for any lifestyle and price range, challenges by providing new ways to think about design, and at the end of the day implements your vision with more energy than you could have thought of.

She was right on time, even a little early. She is knowledgeable and straightforward. I got the sense she was genuinely interested in helping me accomplish what is needed, without selling me products and services I don't need. Quite the opposite, she has good suggestions for cost savings as well as design.

The work was done very quickly and professionally. Melanie was a real pleasure to work with and the results were exactly what I wanted. She was very quick and professional, but never rushed or trying to push me in a particular direction. I would highly recommend her.

I have never worked with a designer before working with Melanie this past year and my experience was very enjoyable. She has a set fee for her design services based on square footage of design space. I like this model as I did not have to "watch the clock" every time we talked/met. Melanie is very generous with her time and really wants her customer to be satisfied. Melanie has great ideas and taste but what most impressed me about Melanie is how well she listens and incorporates the wants and needs of the whole family in her design. I had a fairly good idea what I wanted to accomplish in my design project, but the end result far exceeded my expectations. I feel like I am living in a home pictured in House Beautiful! Melanie is willing to work in any budget and did a great job helping met stick to it!

Melanie was a pleasure to work with. I loved the paint she recommended as well as the other ideas she gave me. Since I had the equivalent of a day to work with she made the most of every minute and I felt she really listened and understood what we wanted to achieve with the decorating and gave me recommendations accordingly.

I hired Melanie to design a home office and provide general advice for my home. She had fantastic ideas that I was able to implement immediately, and the home office design was a true innovation. The end result is fantastic - maximizes workspace in a way I could not have imagined. She is personally delightful to work with as well, and she even had a contact to move my computer and associated equipment, hook up a wireless printer, and hide the cords. I would use her again without question.

This was an amazing experience. 1)First contact was by telephone in which our goal was discussed of blending two homes into one.2) First visit she was prepared to use our requests (goal) to place most desirous furniture in our new home. To accomplish this ervice she measured the room size, furniture, and photographed same. This was transfer to a computer program and copy provided to us to correct as needed. 3) On moving day , the computer program was used to place the furniture with exactness. 4) Melanie did return for a second visit (at our special request) to perform service of wall hanging of art work. At based on her experience and the photographs that sitting she selected pictures as to frame, size ,color etc. to install as a group. These were placed on floor in a group and photographed to aid the picture hanger in near future. 4) She did return a third time and supervised the hanging of the groups of art work on the wall which were suitable. We recommend Melanie Lark without reservations.
