HORGAN TREE EXPERTS

Great isn't good enough. We were planning to leave for vacation in 2 days. At the last minute I decided to at least get a quote before we left. Within 10 minutes (literally) of my initial call he came over and gave me a very reasonable quote. He then had the crew over within a half-hour and the entire job was finished within an hour. We can now go on our vacation and not have to worry about the tree situation. Will definitely hire them again.

The service was excellent and provided quickly. It was done in three parts (cutting down the tree, grinding the roots, and filling in and re-seeding) and the the lawn now looks perfect where the tree was removed.

I called initially for an estimate and he arrived within 20 minutes and looked over the job. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. After weeks of calling them over and over and not having calls returned I finally got booked on a specific day at 7:15AM to have the work done. Then the day came and went, no one showed up, no calls or explanations. Please avoid this company, they may not waste your money but they will surely waste your time. Avoid avoid avoid.

Fantastic! Mr. Horgan returned my phone call within a reasonable amount of time. We spoke on a Saturday and the wood was delivered within an hour. Amazingly good experience.

The men had to climb up trees to cut out broken limbs and remove fallen debris. Others had to carry up hill rounds of trees that had fallen to their truck then go back down and do it over and over again. There was no access to our property from below. They did so much clean up and then removed a couple more trees that we asked them to cut down.

I selected Horgan after receiving 6-8 estimates to prune 3 large trees and remove 3 medium-sized downed trees. Horgan was middle of the pack on price but ultimately fielded an competitive offer I was pleased with the work Horgan performed. Their estimator came soon after I placed an initial call, spent a few minutes surveying the trees and provided an emailed quote. He was very responsive when I asked questions, and the workers were on our property within a day after I approved the estimate. The workers arrived early (approx 7:30am) and worked for several hours. I have used other providers that are highly rated on Angie's List that offered better pricing but their responsiveness was poor (2-3 week waits from signing a proposal to commencing work); their quality of work was mediocre; and I felt I had to personally oversee their work or they would cut corners. With Horgan, their estimate was detailed and their team of workers was very thorough. I would certainly use them again and would recommend them to others

They are incredibly fast! I called about 8 am, and they delivered the firewood at lunchtime on the same day. The wood is good quality and pretty uniform in size. There was no waste debris at all. Everyone I dealt with was very nice.

From start to finish they are very good, honest and professional. They will always be very honest and do exactly wahat they say they'll do

I contacted several tree services in the summer and Horgan gave me the best quote. I met with Jay who is enthusiastic and knows his trees/ plants. They had been recommended by a friend so I didn't hesitate to use them. In December, I called them back and they were able to take the trees down over the next two days. They also chipped two huge brush piles for us. I will use them again for pruning.

Terry is very responsive, typically can deliver wood within 24 hours, but the quality can be iffy. I order stove wood and I have had deliveries that were well seasoned, uniform 14/16" pieces, deliveries that were not well seasoned and loaded with "chunks" and deliveries somewhere in between. Last year, after burning through my initial delivery of one cord, I ordered another 1/2 cord in February. Just about all of that wood was 18" which I can't use, Terry happily took it back. In the plus column, great service. In the negative, quality can be hit or miss, at least for stove wood.

I would recommend them. I would also get other estimates because they were a little bit pricey. They did a good job.

I did quite a bit of research trying to find someone who would sell me a shorter cut of firewood for my woodstove which will accept log sizes no more than 13 or 14 inches long. Usually, I buy a regular cord and cut the pieces in half with a chainsaw, which works well, but is a lot of work. This year, I thought that I would save myself a bunch of work and buy the wood pre-cut 13 inches or smaller and all would have to do is stack it. After calling around, Horgan was the only company who said that they could provide me with a cord of wood ,13 inches or less in length, "with a few pieces that might be a little longer." The price was a bit more than i am used to paying, but if it saves me work, than it should be worth the money. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. About 25% of the wood exceed the agreed upon 13-inch length and had to be re-cut. Also, ther was a significant amount of wood that was not usable due to rotting. I had five wheelbarrows of rotten wood and bark that i sorted out, much higher than what i have experienced in the past with other firewood suppliers. The remaining wood seems well-seasoned.Overall, I am very disappointed becuase of the amount of over-sized wood and rotten, unusable pieces.

When I made the initial call, a real person answered the phone, and I was able to setup a convenient time for an estimate which was within a few days. Steve, the certified arborist, arrived on time and was very helpful in helping to select the trees that needed the most work in this first phase. He gave me an estimate the same day. The estimate was very reasonable. I was able to schedule the work to be done the following week. The crew was on time and respectful to my property and me. They finished the job in 2 days and left the area cleaned. They did a great job. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely first rate across the board.

They called me back quickly and were very professional and helpful on the phone. I ordered wood, a half a cord of stove length wood. They were supposed to come first thing in the morning, and when they hadn't arrived an hour after the time scheduled, I called to check. They finally came in the early afternoon and apologized for being late. I don't know if this is unusual for them or not. It would have cost about $50 more for them to bring the wood into the yard and stack it, so I decided against that and they left it in a very tidy pile in my driveway. The wood is a real mix of sizes and types, but all pieces are small enough to fit in my insert. It seems well seasoned and fine for my purposes. Overall, they were very polite and, as I said, apologized for the mix-up in delivery time. The tree service estimate they gave was helpful as well. I'm not sure how the price they charge for the quality and amount of the wood compares, for this is the first time I've ordered firewood.

We called for firewood quotes and after calling 4 companies I chose Horgan because of a combination of price/convenience and information given over the phone. They delivered the wood the same day and split the cord I ordered between my neighbor and me. My only complaint was that they were an hour late from when they said they would be at my house, but overall I would definitely use them again.

I called late on a Thursday afternoon indicating I was interested in a half cord of wood. Call was returned first thing the next morning. Terry said he could deliver that day, and when I asked about payment (I wasn't going to be home), he said I could leave a check or he would leave an invoice. I left a check at the back door. The wood was delivered that day on my patio next to the driveway - as requested. Seemed like half of a full cord, as opposed to half a face cord, which is what I usually have received from others. So I got almost twice as much as expected! I haven't used any yet, but it is hardwood as promised, and looks to be be properly seasoned.A small fraction of the wood was old/rotting, but I'm sure it will burn just fine.

Called Monday, wood was delivered Tuesday morning. Prompt and friendly service.

I used this company last year for the first time. They promised "the best firewood" and they certainly delivered just that. It is cut, split and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend this company's product.

Called and got a call back within 3 hours. Delivery was set for the following day but - wait - nobody will be home! How do I pay you? No problem - leave me a check in an agreed place. They delivered as promised what they promised.

I called on Tuesday to see if they could/would deliver firewood when someone was home. Their hours are over before 4pm. They suggested I could leave the money or check in an envelope on the porch or under a mat, if no one was home. I asked if Saturday morning would work. They told me that Saturday morning at 9am would be good. So Saturday morning I had got two people to help; they were paid with breakfast and some money. They showed up at 8:45am to prepare the area. By 9:30am I was a tad worried; they weren't there yet. I called and left a message. By 10:00am I am a tad angry. No returned call; no firewood. By 10:30am, I had two bored people on my hand; I'm wondering if he may show up around lunch....great another meal. At 11am, I gave up. Called another company, Underdog Landscaping. I wrote a separate report on how they showed up in less than an hour (as promised) with a same day call.

THE COMPANY PROVIDED GOOD QUALITY. THEY PROVIDED VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE AND WERE REASONABLY PRICED.

DELIVERY WAS PROMPT AND ON TIME. THE COMPANY RESPONDED TO OUR NEEDS OF SEASONED AND ALREADY SPLIT FIREWOOD.
