Berks Energy Heating & Air Conditioning

On Sunday July 13, 2014 I noticed my air was not cooling the house. Sunday night I went through Angie's list and found Berks Energy Heating and Air Conditioning and emailed them about 8pm. Monday morning I got a call from Jeff at 8:30 am. He was able to fit me in that day. He came out and was very polite and professional. He fixed the part on my compressor and added freon. He did the work quickly and efficiently. I was happy with the cost ,$140, five years ago I just had freon added and it cost me $150. I would definitely use them again and I will recommend them to my friends and family.

Went extremely well. Will report back once Jeff replaced my central air system.

Before starting, I got other estimates. While not the absolute lowest quote, Berks Energy certainly wasn't the highest. Previously, I had a gas line run from the street to a new meter outside of my house, so this job included installing a gas line from the meter. They also replaced a valve on one of my radiators. The system has been working great from the get go during this brutally cold winter. Four months later, we had a leak develop in one of the old pipe joints nearby in the system that didn't need to be replaced at the time of installation. Jeff came out right away and fixed it free of charge. For quality, service and value, I'm glad I went with Berks Energy.

Jeff explained everything during the installation; he and another worker installed the new heater in just a couple of hours and disposed of the old one. Work area was clean upon completion. Have worked with this vendor before and have been very satisfied. Felt the price was reasonable for the amount of work done. Still having a problem with water temperature regulation, but Jeff is researching, and I'm sure we will get the issue resolved.

Very professional, answered all my questions, and followed up on all my concerns to make sure I was completely satisfied.

Jeff tuned and cleaned our oil burner, changed the burner settings, and replaced the filter, nozzle, electrodes and pump screen. Afterwards, he clearly and fully explained the operation of the system, a courteous home owner tutorial. Jeff was honest, professional and easy to work with. Thanks for your help.

Jeff was very courteous and did a great job at a fair price. I picked his brain with a ton of questions about replacing my Furnace and about my AC unit. I called on a Friday to schedule a diagnostic visit. They were at my house within 4 hours of my initial call. I honestly didn't expect them to get back to me until early the next week. The parts were ordered and installed by Tuesday morning. The cost for the work was very fair. The parts were a little pricey, but they would of been the same price no matter who did the work. I typically like to try different contractors the next time a job is done. But, based on this recent experience, Berks Energy will be go to HVAC company.

Came to the house on install date, installed new heater, evaporator, hot water heater all duct out of the side of the house. Work completed the same day. Came back the following week to install attic fan and cover exposed duct work. Everything worked great. I was satisfied to have a very effective system. I will use him in the next year to replace outside AC compressor unite. AC has worked the best it ever has heater is great as well. much lower heating bills. Wonderful to work with Brian very helpful in choosing exactly what our home needs. Highly recommend Berks Energy.

I'm very pleased. I had another company come out to give me an estimate and it was like talking to a used car dealer. Lot's of dealing and not really sure what I was going to end up with. I just didn't feel comfortable. I call Berks Heating and Air Conditioning based on a referral from a friend. He arrived early, was very professional, very personable and made me feel comfortable. I received a very reasonable quote on a couple of options. All my questions were answered. I scheduled the replacement service for the same week. He arrived on time and had it completely installed for the quoted price within 3 hours and gave me pointers on how to better use the dampers to control how the house is heated and cooled. If needed I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone. Very pleased

He was very nice, and profession. He took a look at the unit and not only fixed the issue but notice that my unit was backed up from all the lint that was coming out of the laundry "exhaust" if you wanna call it that. He washed it down and explained to me that it needs to be cleaned every so often to get the most efficiency out of my AC. I would definitely use jeff again and recommend him to family and friends.

He came out immediately when my air conditioning wasn't working at all. He also fixed it the same day. It was also cheap and he is very responsive and helpful.

Jeff did a great job across the board from initial estimate to cleaning the job site after installation was done! He beat other estimates by up to $5,000+. The installations looks very professional and will be a selling point if we ever decide to sell (though not likely as this was our last mechanical preparing for retirement). He even offered to keep our old A/C system running for free while waiting for new install. Jeff is very professional and customer focused. In the unlikely event we have a problem, I have no doubt he will be there to support his work. There's no one better at what he does!

The company was very professional and polite. they came to the house, did a complete overview and provided me an estimate at no cost. I would have hired them except i could not afford the cost at that time.

Furnace stopped working on a Saturday morning. Called Jeff and he quickly returned phone call and came out at scheduled time mid-day Saturday. Diagnosed the problem. Also checked to make sure the repairs were worth the investment by testing the heat exchanger which was fine. Open and honest - did not try to oversell - just covered all of the options objectively. The fan was replaced as a precaution as it was making a bearing noise. Parts came in on following Tuesday and Jeff promptly returned and completed the repairs. Overall very satisfied.

After attempting to repair our 25 year-old system, Jeff offered to replace a defective coil, but we opted for a new system. He listened to what we had liked and disliked about the old system and designed the perfect combination of simple compressor and high-tech air handler. He managed to fit us into his busy schedule and finished the installation on the hottest day of the year (103 degrees F). The system functioned as advertised and in one respect is actually BETTER than advertised. We asked if the new system would be quieter than the old one and Jeff made no prediction on that. In fact the new system is so quiet we virtually never hear it go on or off. The installation was done fast, professionally, and produced perfect results. This is an outstanding HVAC company!

Jeff (Berks Energy Star) was highly recommended to us. He came to our house checked out our unit which was about 25 years old, put some "Band-aids" on it, and charged us just about nothing (now that really impressed us! ). I asked him to give us a quote on a new heat pump and air handler, which he did giving us several options. We selected the Amana 3 ton 16 seer unit. It took about 2 weeks until it could be installed. Jeff came promptly at 8:30 a.m., as promised. He and his crew placed drop cloths on the floors and went to work. Approximately 8 hours later it was installed with no problems. We were very impressed with the entire experience and highly recomend Berks Energy Star.
