Mark, the owner, performed the job himself for our 92 year old neighbor and went out of his way to identify any problems with the garage door mechanism and door opener. He researched and tried to fix one of the garage door keypads but the garage door opener is so old that it would have required a full replacement although he was willing to order newer parts and at least attempt a repair. Mark went out of his way to help our neighbor and save him money. He thoroughly cleaned up the area and took all trash with him.

I spoke with someone who forwarded me to a voicemail because I guess the one person that can set this up was not around. I left a message on there voicemail to get the springs replaced on Monday morning. I called back later in the day and asked when hey would be able to come out and do the work, they said they didn't know because the person still wasn't around. Not sure why they even answer the phone if they cant answer any questions about garage door services. Its been a week now and I still have not heard anything back from them, in the meantime I had my springs replaced by a responsive garage door company girard doors. If you want something done soon and good communication don't go with whelan doors.

I have an eggplant color door so the paint was a little bit of a problem and he made sure I was happy. The first time we painted it, even though we agreed on the color, it didn't look right and he didn't do it again. I really liked that he did that. Its a funny color that was on the old door so I gave him the paint that we had. But the paint was old and it didn't look right and we all agreed that it didn't look right so he did it again. He did it with a smile on his face and didn't say 'Well this is what you picked' He said 'I want you to be happy, let's do it right.' It was a fair price. We had a few estimates. I don't know if he was the lowest but he was one of the lowest and we really liked him so we went with him. He was really good and the people who work for him were really good as well. We've referred him to two neighbors already!

My husband and I were at the 2014 Philly Home Show in Feb. We came across Russ Whelan garage doors, and spoke with their representative, Ruthane... We needed 2 new garage doors desperately. The old ones are the orginal of 23 years. So noisy when opened and they rattled. Ruthane came out to measure and ordered all what we needed. She was very professional and friendly. She knew her work. Today, Rick arrived right on time for installlation. Excellent workmanship. Professional, friendly, explained all what he was doing for us. Took away all the debris from the old doors and clean up was excellent. I am so thrilled with our new doors..they are so quiet when opening....well insulated. I would highly recommend Russ Whelan to anyone looking for garage doors. Job well done from start to finish. It went very smoothly. Thank you all involved for providing excellent service.

The original installation date had to be postponed because of a major snow storm, but they were out again the very next day to install everything. The installation was flawless. The trim around the doors was replaced and sealed, the inside door tracks and one-piece beam for the opener were all new. The installation included two new keypads, which were programmed to our specifications. All the wiring was tacked neatly out of the way. A much better install than what had been there to start with. Ruthane was prompt in all communication with us, answering any and all questions promptly. The price felt a little on the high side, but we would pay it again in a heartbeat based on the finished product. We have only good things to say about our experience.

The guy came out and he was on time and gave us a quote but we have to decide what we want to do. I had a very positive experience with him. He came in the evening after work so my husband could be here. He followed up with an e-mail giving us the quote. We're very pleased with him and the price they gave was pretty fair.

Our stand alone garage has two commercial sized wooden doors circa around 1950. The wood is in great shape but the springs and cabling was sagging and one side of one door was off track. They were scary, but we wanted to keep the wood doors since we thought they were in good shape. We had 5 or 6 companies come by for estimates, but NONE of them ever followed up and contacted us with a bid but one, beside Russ Whelan. I expect it was due to the commercial size doors, though none of them indicated that they would be a problem. One company did say it would be less expensive to totally replace the doors and rails to the tune of $2500. One of the companies who would have taken on the job, but could not due to some circumstances, suggested their competition to us, their competition was Russ Whelan doors. I am so very glad they did. I called and spoke to their engineer and explained our situation, that nobody wanted to fix our doors. They came out, explained in detail the repair process and the next week they came out to fix the doors. They estimated it would take about 4 hours, it ended up taking about 8 hours. They did not charge any extra due to it taking twice as long as they figured. Our doors were pretty old and hadn't been serviced in a long time by the prior owners. They custom made the springs based on the door weight, which each door weighed about 350 pounds. They really took the care to do things right, the doors work perfectly. They may mostly do commercial and business doors, but they also do normal residential doors. Their service and price is excellent. I would highly suggest that anyone needing garage doors or their servicing give Russ Whelan a chance to do the job. They will be glad they did.

I had a noisy garage door opener that was directly underneath my daughters bedroom. It was so noisy that in order to wake her early in the morning, I would manually open the door, pull the car out, come back in manually close the door then leave the house by the front door. I contacted Russ Whelan and they told me they had a product that would eliminate the nosie. They quickly set up an appointment to install the garage door opener. The installer arrived on time, was very professional and left the garage in pristine condition. Both the product and service exceeded my expectations.
