Description of Work: Called in reference to tree evaluation in re a pool installation. Message left with live person. Call back was 6 days later, including weekend. Was given option of 15 minute arrival at 0900 on a Monday for a consult. Lack of response to initial request, plus lack of scheduling ahead of time (some people have day jobs and can't drop everything) raised red flags. Truth, maybe great. Just not what I expected for a high value job.

Description of Work: The arborists pruned my Oriental Raintree, which had been taking over my yard, and threatening to take down telephone wires as well. The men were pleasant, knowledgeable, and eager to do a good job. They worked quickly and efficiently shaping up my maple tree, and removing a very dead " rose of Sharon". I was quite pleased with the overall results; especially delighted to discover a lovely little rose bush, mostly hidden from view by the enormous Rain Tree. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of work they did and the care and expertise they demonstrated. It was obvious that they are motivated by the love of trees, as I am. Description of Work: Chuck came out within an hour of my call. I needed to have a broken birch remove and the trunk ground down. Fantastically prompt! Came out that afternoon and did the removal. They did a great job, and complete clean up. I would definitely recommend them to neighbors and friends!

 + -1 moreThey came to give me an estimate the very afternoon I called.The reason I joined Angie's List is that I had several projects and after getting an estimate of $550 to take down a small tree, chip stump, and soil and seed, I was discouraged. So I joined Angie's List and looked for a tree service. Rick's was in my area, and as I stated they came that very afternoon, and gave me a quote for the exact same service of $200. They were polite, professional and couldn't have been nicer. They were very busy and mine was a small job. But within 2 weeks everything was done and I was extremely pleased.
Description of Work: Small tree taken down, hauled away, stump chipped, top soil and seed put down.

 + -1 moreThey took it down, they ground the stump, they cleaned it up themselves. They were here when they were supposed to be here. I can't say anything bad about them.
Description of Work: I used Rick's Expert Tree Service for tree removal. We had a maple tree in our front lawn and for several years I noticed the branches coming down. Right next to it is telephone and electrical wires, so I thought why not better take it down before it falls down.

 + -1 moreThey were great. I called for an estimate for tree removal. Time between estimate and return for removal was 1 week. They came when they said they would too. They were fast and efficient. They even cleared the roof of leaves from the tree as well as the walkway and the ground of leaves where the tree was! They definitely go the extra mile. I highly recommend Ricks. This is the second time we have used them and they are very professional and super reasonable in price.

Description of Work: We have worked with them a couple of times. They have the right equipment to get the job done. The show up on time and are careful in their work. This last time we had a tree fall on the house. They called us right back and came out on a Sunday to remove it at no extra charge.

During the process of estimation, they were very helpful and I was comfortable in discussing the work. It was convenient to tell them what I was expecting and they suggested appropriately. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

 + -1 moreI called them becasue I was hesitatnt to have my Japanese Maples cared for by someone who didn't know what they were doing and they have an arborist on staff. We will see how they fare. They were very quick to complete the work - they showed up the day we agreed upon a price even though they told me it would be done within the next week. All work looked to be completed when I came home and all was very clean. The only thing that wasn't exactly as we discussed was that I asked them if they would need to be paid the day of the work and they said no they would leave an invoice and I could mail it to them. But then the day of the work, 1 of the workers asked my mother if she would be paying them. It was not a problem, but that is why i asked ahead of time, becasue i didn't want them to ask her for payment. Overall, I am satisfied.
Description of Work: Pruned 2 large Japanese Maples that had been damaged and were too close to the house; Removed dead limbs from several Hemlocks and removed 4 saplings on the side of the house including grinding the roots.
