In response to Joe's response on my review. Yes I hired you again to give you another chance because everyone makes mistakes. How can you say I misused the doors when you never came out to check on them, you were rude, unprofessional and inexperienced. The person that came out to fix the doors properly stated that you did not cut the doors properly and also did not mortar them or sand them. I ordered the wrong size doors? I measured the way you instructed me to measure and orderd them according to the measurements. I think we know who the real liar is here. It's ok I know you're trying to protect your brand but if I may offer you some advise, gain a little more experience first. Yes I filed a dispute on Thumbtack and I wouldn't say I lost because that's really not a win or lose platform. To correct you my availability was after 4:30 not 6 you chose to come at 6 so that you can wait for your helper. Wow! I can say a dodged a very large bullet by not letting you install my window and everything else you gave me an estimate for. I did refer you to a friend and you had to leave for the day to get help because you were once again inexperienced. Thanks for your response though.

Joe Korabik of Paradise Property Services also operates or formerly operated Portal Handyman Services which is the business name I hired him under. Everything started off good (pleasant attitude, communication and prices etc) until the work began. I hired Joe to install 5 slab doors. He brought along his helper and it took about 5 hours to install 1-1/2 doors, it took about 3 visits to get these doors installed. After the first visit I noticed on one of the doors the hole for the doorknob was cut wrong but the knob was still installed leaving a big visible gap. Neither Joe nor his helper mentioned this to me so I texted Joe the next morning and he stated that his helper didn't tell him until late, hmm. Fast forward to all doors finally being installed, I had to call him back because one of the doors was not closing properly it was rubbing when closed so he took the door off and cut it but it still rubs (it closes so I left it before it was made worse) and the other door wasn't latching he made some type of temporary adjustment until where now the problem is happening again along with a loose hinge that can't be adjusted because the hole is stripped (which by the way he's claiming it's my fault because I probably rough handled the door and/or slammed it. Another door that was installed is not closing at all and he blames that on the house settling even though the doors were just installed a few months ago. I text joe and ask if he can come and look at the doors he said of course and he would let me know when he can come by; a week goes by and I hear nothing from him so I text him on a Friday then Monday I email him, I send him a message on Thumbtack and no response. Seems as if there's no paid work for him to do he's not interested in your requests. I referred Joe to a coworker and I regret because he is unprofessional and doesn't not stand by his "100% guarantee and his good communication skills" that he claims he has. Lesson learned and for now on I will pay a few more dollars for good work and professionalism! Very disappointed! All of his 5 star reviews are from his friends!!. I've had to since hire someone to repair all doors that he installed.
