I recently took my Lenovo Thinkpad T450s Laptop for a Warranty Repair at a local Authorized Warranty Center and the Lenovo website steered me towards Micro Technology Group. I dropped my PC off on 3/29/2018 for warranty service complaining of (1) non-functioning USB port, (1) intermittent USB port & an occasional but infrequent display flicker. On 4/4/2018, I picked up my repaired computer (they replaced the entire system board, the entire display and 5 internal cables). Upon returning home and inspecting further, it’s apparent that the fingerprint reader was no longer operational. It did not illuminate and it clicked and wiggled as if it were not properly tightened internally. On 4/5/2018 the MTG Repair tech told me they may not be able to fix the fingerprint reader because my computer was now no longer under warranty (expired 4/5/2018) but I talked him into at least taking another look since this was not previously an issue. After further inspection, the service tech admitted the fingerprint reader cable was not seated properly to the system board causing the device failure and properly re-seating the fingerprint reader resolved this issue and after my 2nd trip there, the computer seemed fine. Two weeks later (approx 4/19/2018), my newly replaced computer display began to flicker on the entire left 3rd side of the display. This started occasionally and has become progressively worse to the point that the words and graphics on left side of the display appear to be melting. If I give a constant little pressure against the bottom left of the display, it will sometimes temporarily clear the issue. The newly replaced display was obviously failing or there is some type of connection issue. I have contacted MTG and they adamantly refused to even look at the computer as it iwas no longer under warranty post repair. MTG will not support their service work. They do not offer the same 30 day repair work warranty that the Lenovo Repair Depot offers on work performed - else I would have sent it directly to Lenovo knowing the repair work was guaranteed instead of risking poor shoddy repair work from an AUTHORIZED repair center Lenovo's website steered me towards. MTG would not even look at my computer to see if there is another cable that came loose just like the fingerprint reader or if the display they replaced is faulty. MTG should not be a Lenovo Authorized Repair Center if they don't support their own repair work. I cannot recommend MTG for computer repair.
