We had a warranty certificate from previous owner that states it's transferable for 5 years from 4/09. They claimed the previous owners paid last installment that date, but actual work was completed in 4/08....which is ridiculous because nonetheless I have a warranty certificate stating it's good for 5 years from 4/09 and lifetime for service. Also, the guy brought a 'friend' with him who stood outside our home, which was very 'strange.' Eventually, I got our plumber to come. He looked at the work Basement Dry did on the original install and showed how nothing was tightened and a clamp had fallen off due to the poor installation of two pumps next to each other. He fixed it all and saved us the cost of a new pump!!! And explained that we need to keep the backup battery wet..something Basement Dry never mentioned. I am really disgusted with basement dry, their lack of respect for the customer's time, their poor workmanship, their unprofessionalism, & their dishonestness.
Description of Work: Called when sump pump stopped working and basement flooded during big storm in PM. Told the guy would come at night or in the AM. He didn't come at night. Next morning, I called and was told were first on list and they'll arrive at 10am-maybe sooner-but will call when on way. At 11, still no sign of them and no call, so I called them. Said they're on way and will arrive in 20 min. At 12, no call or sign of them. I called and was told they're 15 min away and hit traffic. At close to 1, still no sign and no courtesy call. I called again, and was told they're around the corner. At 1:20ish a man arrive in an older sedan with bumper stickers. He claimed his truck got stuck in water, so he had to drive back to the office and get a car. (The office is 30 min away- this doesn't account for 3.5 hr delay-and is a different story than the office worker told me.) he told me it'd be $495 for a new sump pump (outrageous--our awesome plumber charges $185!!!!). See below for continuation....

.Initially they arrived to perform the work with a crew of people that were not very professional in dress or action except for one person who appeared to be the foreman. The were not neat and could have tried to be a little cleaner when working and cleaning up.They used some of our tools in the basement without our knowledge until we noticed them missing and inquired. The pumps and system do function well overall However we had one pump burn out 2 months after instillation because they left debris in the pit. Although it was covered under the warranty. They are extremely difficult to get in contact with even under emergency situations and fail to return your phone calls. We recently had one of our pumps fail . We made five calls .Two were answered stating that someone would call us back and no one ever did. We used a different provider to fix our pump because we couldn't wait. We have alot of water going through our system right now with all the rain and snow. They have yet to call us back and its been one week.
Description of Work: They put a new perimeter drain in our basement with window drains on 6 windows and created two new sump pump pits and upgraded our existing sump pump pit. Installed 3 1/2 horse power sumps two with battery backup.

I contacted Basement Dry about waterproofing my basement. We agreed on an appointment date and time for the estimator to come out and assess my needs. The estimator failed to show for the appointment and did not call to cancel. I do not appreciate having to take a day off to wait for no-show contractors. I tried for more than a week to contact the company, but I only get their answering machine and they do not return calls.
Description of Work: Failed to show for scheduled appointment.

Salesman very good, except the part where they are supposed to be using a negative air system, when in fact was just a flimsy plastic sheeting at stairwell which tore easily and was left torn, and a fan at a window to suck the concrete dust out. Another company said they used the negative air system, too, and was the same thing. The on-the- job-site boss, was arrogant, arrived after the crew, rather than before and several aspects of work careless and disregardful. Had to have salesman come back and order many things re-done, as he agreed with me. Other workmen respectful, hardworking and considerate. The salesman upheld all agreements and would trust him and recommend the company if not for the job boss.
Description of Work: Basement drainage system, light mold treatment, walls paint-sealed and new windows.

The crew that performed the work arrived early and performed efficiently. They dug around the walls of the basement and installed a filter cloth, by the afternoon they had done all of the preliminary work. The following day they came back and completed the project, all work was done in a professional manner. This work was done in August, but I wanted to wait so that nature could test the quality of the work, it's now February and so far so good.
Description of Work: A 33 foot pressure relief system was installed along with a submersible pump that empties into the basement laundry tub.

THEY INSTALLED THE SYSTEM AND IT WORKED PROPERLY FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. THEN I HAD WATER IN MY BASEMENT. THEIR WORK IS SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED BY A LIFETIME WARRANTY, SO I CALLED THEM. I FOUND OUT THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME PHONE NUMBER, ARE IN THE SAME LOCATION, BUT CLAIM TO BE A DIFFERENT COMPANY. SO WHAT SEEMS TO HAVE HAPPENED IS THAT THEY MAY HAVE CHANGED THEIR NAME TO GET OUT OF SERVICING THEIR WARRANTIES. THE "NEW" COMPANY, DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO COME OUT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROBLEM.
Description of Work: HIRED THEM FOR BASEMENT WATERPROOFING. THEY INSTALLED DRAIN TILE, A SUMP PUMP, AND DRAIN PIPES.

ALL WORK WAS COMPLETED AS THEY STATED. WORKERS WERE NEAT AND COURTEOUS. PRICE SEEMED TO BE COMPETITIVE. ONLY SNAG WAS WHEN THERE WAS SOME WATER SEEPAGE AFTER THE WORK. SERVICE PERSON CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY, BUT WAS NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. FOLLOW UP PHONE CALLS WERE NEVER RETURNED. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS THE COMPANY WROTE A LETTER WITH AN EXPLANATION. I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED SOMEONE COME OUT TO THE HOUSE.
Description of Work: INSTALLED A SUMP PUMP, REMOVED THE PERIMETER FLOOR 12 INCHES FROM THE WALLS, OPENED WATER WEEP HOLES, AND INSTALLED A DRAIN & COVER WITH CEMENT.
