Custom Aire HVAC & Duct Cleaning

The service was the best that one person can do by thoroughly cleaning a whole house. I think they should have staffed more people to complete the job. The guy was clearly exhausted by the time he left.

I complained that my A/C didn't seem to be working to a high efficiency. After discussing my A/C equipment and house layout, Scott thought that the A/C might be ok and a visit to my house probably wasn't warranted. He gave me some direction to help cool air distribution that solved the problem. The system is working fine. Scott was very professional and did not take advantage of the possibility of charging for a needless visit. I plan to use the company if other problems arise.

I've been using Custom Aire for ten years and purchased a new Carrier furnace/AC system six years ago. I use the twice yearly maintenance plan in late fall and late spring. I have always been pleased with the guys who come out. This time, I had a servicing last month and everything was deemed thumbs up. But when I put on my AC yesterday for the first time, I noticed that although I was getting some cool air, the thermostat was not going down. Of course, this happens on the first heat wave of the year just prior to the Memorial Day weekend holiday! I spoke with Holly who handled my complaint in good order and Jim called me soon after to discuss the problem. I was told to call in a couple of hours if a few tweaks proved unhelpful and unfortunately, they did not solve the problem. Holly told me they'd get somebody out between 4-6. Though nobody called until after six, Dan Smith did appear after seven, tired and worn but willing to do the hard work. He methodically went through every part of the system and came to the conclusion that I had a faulty motor/module that was failing to ramp up the cooling. I admit I was skeptical as I had convinced myself it was a faulty thermostat! He left late and I was not charged since I had just paid for the maintenance shortly before. Dan told me he'd speak to the top guy-Jim-the next morning. I spoke with Jim (yes, I had to call first) and he told me the motor and module part was under warranty and he had been able to get it and would send Dan back this afternoon between 2-4. Ok, so I waited until 5 but it was worth it. Dan Smith, a modest, humble and quiet gentleman went right to work and replaced the motor in under an hour. He was spot on with his diagnosis. He did not leave until he was sure everything was in proper working order. And clean. I paid for the labor only. Dan didn't mind my cat, either. I will request his service in the future as he is a hard worker who really puts in the time. I'll overlook the punctuality issues, especially given the heat wave and the holiday weekend. I thank Jim for his integrity and professionalism and giving me the time. That is loyalty.

I found them through Angie's List a few years ago. I have them for yearly maintenance. They come out twice a year, once in the summer, and once in the winter. I have used them for three years. It's a yearly thing. The technician that came out is really nice. He will answer any questions that I have. He will ask if I have any questions, or need help with.

The person who answered the phone was very nice and offered a date of 11/27 (day after Thanksgiving) but I wasn't available that day so she gave me a date of 12/4/15 between 12 and 2 pm and said that the technician would call when he was on his way. On 12/4/15 no technician called or came by 2 pm. I called the company's phone number at 2 to find out if the technician was still coming to find out that the office was closed. There was no call or message prior to the date to indicate anything had changed.

Well. They arrived on time.

The provider used an air gun to clean my furnace, and communicated that a more comprehensive cleaning would cost more. He tried to sell me an insurance plan before doing anything. The air gun blew out the pilot, which I reignited. He was unsure of pricing or service. All around a waste of 89.99 plus tax. Someone contacted me this week and gave me an estimate for a part, and told me that replacing my furnace would be cheaper. I moved into my home last year and the inspector assured me that my furnace is a very good age.

Their price was lower than competitors. I had a good talk with one of the main managers about some of the peculiarities of the house and the heater. The guy who came to do the work was great. I signed up for their annual program.

There aren't that many details, the fellow checked the furnace seemed to be fine. I think this was in part a sales call, yes he did what the service was claimed to do but in order to service the furnace for the winter I will need to spend an additional $350, total cost $440+, and that is what I was really seeking. It is my fault for thinking I was getting the $440+ service for $89.95. They didn't cheat me, I just didn't understand what I was buying.

Custom Aire did a great job. They made everything easy from the estimate to installation. Justin, the estimator, was knowledgeable, helpful and easygoing. He thoroughly explained the pros and cons of installing central air in our old home. On the day of installation, John1 and John2 were on time. They communicated well and were respectful of our home. They were here for two days. They always informed us of what they were doing and asked our opinion on placement and routing of lines and equipment. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. John1 also thoroughly explained the use and operation of the thermostat. Also, dealing with the central office was professional and efficient. We were pleased with the whole experience and now have central air in our 70 year old home. We would definitely recommend them.

The technician went to the wrong location, due to a possible confusion between my billing address and my new physical address. He inspected my boiler and then informed me that I needed to pay an additional amount to have the boiler cleaned because he claimed that it was "an extensive job". I argued that the deal on Angie's list included him cleaning the burners, but he kept insisting that it was too much work for the deal. I then contacted the office who talked to the tech and not only did not resolve my issue with them not cleaning the burners but tried to sell me a new system because it would be more efficient than my current system, even though the CS person said the system was operating safely. I am absolutely not going to use this company again. They did not fulfill their part of the agreement and then tried to sell me something that my house inspector didn't feel I needed either.

From the very beginning, this company treated me like family! The front office ladies, Alicia and Taura, the estimator Justin and the installers, Tom and John, were ALL FABULOUS! The work was estimated in detail. Justin took his time to explain EVERY aspect of the job; what was needed, why certain things are done a certain way, etc. The installers, Tom and John were prompt, went over the job BEFORE they started and explained how things worked as they went along. They placed tarps down so they would not make my carpets dirty and cleaned up as if they were never there. After the job was done, I met with Taura who went over all of the paperwork in detail. She explained the warranties as well as taking care of the registering of my products. Even the owners of the business took the time to meet me and have small talk. Where do you get this kind of service these days! Easy, CustomAire!

My hot water heater was leaking on a recent July 4th. I received an estimate for $2900.00 for an exact replacement for a Bradford White TTW2 heater that retailed at $1900.00. A TTW1 that retailed at $750 was installed instead. It being a holiday weekend and supply stores being closed, I did not say anything. However, the price was not reduced for the lesser heater. Two technicians took three hours to install the heater. This comes out to roughly $350 per hour labor. Again, being in a hard spot, I did not say anything. A year or so later, I had the furnace serviced. I noticed that the fittings on the hot water were corroded and showed signs of leakage. I pointed this out to the technician, but he was there for the furnace, and I expected nothing but an acknowledgement, which I did not receive. I cleaned off the fittings for future inspection. It is six months later, Friday, June 12th. I was in the basement and noticed that the fittings were corroded and that there was water on a fitting on the hot side. I called Custom Aire. They came at the appointed time. The technician looked at the hot water heater for five minutes and agreed that the fittings needed to be replaced. He said that the work would be done on Monday. I thanked him and said that I would expect them on Monday. Outside, he informed me that I owed $96.00 for a service call. I responded that Debbie, the person I spoke to when I called in the leak, said nothing about a service fee. That the web site advertises free estimates. I was not prepared for a $96.00 bill at that moment and said to tack it on to Monday's fee. Also, that I would call the office and question a fee that I was not told about. I called the office, an answering machine picked up and I left a message questioning the fee and any related charged for what should be a warrenty call. No one called back and no one showed up on Monday. In short, I was overcharged for a hot water heater that I did not contract and any installation warrenty was ignored. I now have a new heater that leaks. Being a disabled veteran with 31 years of full time service, I grew accustomed to the concept of integrity in all that I do. It's a shame that that philosophy is lacking here.

His name is Eddy... Was on time.. Laid down canvas for floor at each work area. Explained the procedure, and went to work. He was very professional, courteous and focused. After completion, he showed me all that was in my vents. I signed some paperwork and gladly tipped him. My wife and I are very pleased with the total experience.

Custom Aire had given me a 10 year warranty on the entire system. The fact that a "free" replacement could not be obtained by them to properly repair the unit should not void a valid warranty claim on my part. I feel that the use of a sealant to hopefully repair this problem will simply carry me past the length of the warranty period. When they originally thought the part was not under warranty they never even mentioned the possibility of using a sealer to correct the leak. The coil needed to be replaced. Now that they claim they cant get this coil or so they claim the use of the sealer was brought up. I realize that they might have had to purchase a new coil and that it is expensive, but i they offered me that warranty and should have honored a valid claim. I have had them service this unit twice a year for almost 10 years, so there was no question of the system being properly maintained. Until this time, i had no complaints, but obviously they don't stand behind their warranty claims. I feel that the repair done was just a band aid to get me through the remainder of any warranty. So the question is "when is a warranty not a warranty"? ASK Custom Aire On July 6th, Custom Aire came out and replaced the defective coil with a new unit at no charge. They also found a defective fan on the outside unit and replaced that at no charge also. I had had a phone conversation with Scott Schneider who had promised me that the repairs would be made and that the warranty would be honored. My unit is working well and i am very happy with the resolution of this. I truly appreciate them holding to their warranty and will continue to use them for my heating and air conditioner servicing.

I had received estimates from two other companies but ultimately felt most comfortable with Custom Aire. The salesman is Justin and he answered all our questions to my satisfaction. Although their price was not the lowest, they took the time to explain the proposed product and service in detail. In contrast, the two other companies provided estimates for similar heaters but did not offer an explanation for their recommendation. I am pleased with the installation service performed by Don and Alex. They were professional and courteous. There was one concern with the installation and that was the exhaust pipe to the outside was not secured completely through the wall. It was a little loose so we just added some more mortar fix around the pipe on the outside brick wall and that took care of the issue. Surely they would have come out to fix the problem but we just took care of it ourselves.

The provider was great, very apologetic and understanding, and processed a return on my Angie's List coupon immediately.

It turned out pretty good. Scheduling was pretty easy and he came on-time. I was very satisfied with the work.

.Operation of the burner was checked and brought to maximum operating efficiency. The technician determined that the oil filter was severely clogged with a bacterial deposit which in the future could be prevented by an additive he added to the oil tank. This technician was knowledgeable and worked quickly and cleanly. My recommendation for him is A+.

My heat pump was making a very loud noise for a couple of weeks. Yesterday it was so loud it was vibrating my deck. I called custom air this morning and they are technician James was here by 9 a.m.. He spent over an hour inspecting those the outside unit and the inside unit for any possible malfunction. He said all appear to be in working order. I was very pleased with both that happy news and James's effort to do a thorough job and inspecting the unit.

The first time I turned my A/C unit on the summer before, it only blew out warm air. I had Custom Aire come out and take a look. They quickly determined that I needed a new part of the compressor. They fixed it, and I stayed cool all summer. Given the age of my unit, I wanted Custom Aire to come out and take a look before the hottest days of the year. They ran a diagnostic and everything was still running smoothly. The technician cleaned the unit, and it worked great summer long. I really like Custom Aire. They do quality work for a reasonable price.

They know what they are doing. They show us everything about the furnace and how to keep it running. They are dependable and they are just great.

It was good. It seems pretty quick and easy when I made the appointment with them. They arrived on time for the appointment. Everything was pretty good. They were courteous and professional. I think they did not charge more than the initial cost for the visit. Overall, it was a pretty good service.

Showed up on time on the correct day. Very pleasant, and very thorough.

They were prompt, punctual and very courteous.
