Custom Aire HVAC & Duct Cleaning

It has been a good experience overall to work with this company. We are now considering replacement of the furnace with them.

Custom Aire provided a quote, along with several other vendors. Their quote was competitive with the others. However, they really stood out for being able to provide us with a number of options and helped us understand the costs and issues associated with each (from installing a new high efficiency unit all the way to simply replacing the existing unit). They didn't try to oversell, they simply layed out the pros and cons of each option so we could make an informed decision. Once we agreed, they replaced our unit very quickly and left no mess. As it was extremely hot during this period, the understood the need to get our AC working as quickly as possible, and even worked late to get it done rather than have us wait another day. Great job - I would recommend them.

They came on time. It took two days. They left no mess. It seems to be working well.

They were prompt in coming and the guy who came out was polite. It was a pretty simple problem. Their price was fair because I really don't know how much other people charge. It was a pretty simple job and they did a good job. They came on time and they called us when they came.

The experience was wonderful from the time I called to they finished the work. I sent an email at pm at night and within 20 minutes they called and asked me if I needed them to come out right away. I was stunned that they called. They came out the next day at 10 am and looked over the unit . The tech explained that the unit was burnt out the coils or something ( I just herd can"t be fixed) he then called the office and a sales man Geoff came that afternoon. He measured the space and did calculations etc and then sat down and told us what unit would work and that we had a few choices and he recommended some but did not pressure us in to buying a high end unit that was out of our budget. They scheduled the work for that friday and at 7:30 they were at the door. They laid tarps down so as to not track dirt in. The 2 techs Joe B and Anthony B were really nice. They explained everything and showed me everything that they needed to do. They even did extra things like fixing the way the exhaust pipes (I think) were from the water heater to the vent. Friendly and efficient , overall a wonderful experience

I was very pleased. They did a very good installation job. I had a small problem with a part of the installation, and the owner came out and checked it. He told me it wasn't the quality of work the company strives for, and he quickly got a crew out to fix the problem. I'm very pleased with the professionalism of the company, and I'm still using them to maintain the system.

It was good. They did a good job but I chose another company due to their proposal. They were professional and friendly as well.

I haven’t had any problems. The house is much cooler and I don’t use as much electricity.

Very good experience. Tech was competent and after initial inspection and before starting any work gave a clear explanation of the possible causes and how each could be addressed and at what point a repair on my old system would not be economical. No drama, just efficient troubleshooting and good work that resulted in my 20 year old system back to running "like new" for a minimal cost.

Overall it was quick and didn't cost as much as we thought it was going to. We will definitely use them again if/when we need more AC work! Plus Don T was a very nice/knowledgeable man.

I cannot say enough good things about their work. They were prompt with their estimate, the work they did was excellent, and they did more than any other company offered to do. They mounted my rooftop air conditioner to code (on steel beams), they created a new covering for the duct work, and covered all with new roofing material. The workmen were professional and efficient. The job was completed in two days. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

All went very well from the estimate to installation. Very efficient with minimum disturbance. Cleaned up after themselves. Have scheduled times to check on installation. Came out, at no cost, to make adjustments to fan speed. Excellent service.

They arrived on time and got right to work. They placed a drop cloth on the floor to catch all the oil drips, and took out our old air conditioner. In the course of installing the new air conditioner, they discovered that the roofers (who had replaced the roof on our condo building just the week before) had driven a huge nail through the big power cord that powers our heating and cooling system! Good thing they knew what they were doing, and were able to fix it quickly. I would definitely use them again. Too bad they don't do furnaces (just air conditioners).

Easily one of the best trades we dealt with in our renovation. We found them to be extremely straightforward and clear and patient in working with us to design the best system for our home. Options were explained thoroughly, along with cost ramifications and efficiency parameters. Once we had made our choices about equipment, the installation crew that worked with us to bring the system to life was superb. The technicians were exceedingly polite, and they worked very well with our other subcontractors. They were a pleasure to have in the house. There are some tradesmen that, when you see them, you want to avoid them. The Custom Aire personnel were exactly the opposite. We really learned a lot from them and came away convinced they did the best possible job we could have had. Each individual really seems to enjoy his work. One standout for us was the on-site work manager, Beau, who went to great personal extremes to ensure everything about our system was installed properly, sized properly, and worked aesthetically with all the design aspects of the home. There were several occasions on which we had to ask Custom Aire to re-do, move, or temporarily undo their work because of other work going on in the house. They never even hinted that this might be an inconvenience to them, even though it sometimes clearly was. These are consummate professionals. Even the crane operator they hired to lift our A/C condensers into place was recognized by a neighbor as being "the best, most careful" crane operator he knew in town. Custom Aire is a class operation and I would strongly endorse them to anyone considering how best to proceed when starting from scratch with a new system, or updating an existing one. We literally could not have been more pleased with their work.

Had to return three additional times to replace defective parts installed from the first visit and correct additional failure of existing equipment. Nice people to deal with but overall customer experience fell short on the quality of the work.

Needed some corrections, but they where right back to fix the problem

the gentleman who did the work was so thorough, he was also so professional and went out of his way to go above and beyond it seemed to do a really top notch job. I also have to say, i was struggling to put in some wiring for a new stove and he even helped me with that which didn't even have anything to do with his work - just a really great professional and a great job over all. It seemed a little pricey (the company's price) but I'm not sure how much this usually costs except from the adds and those might not be as thorough or complete - this was totally thorough.

Custom Aire went way and above the call of duty with our service. Our AC went out at the start of a week when it was expected to hit 90-degrees every day. Custom's technician John came and diagnosed a malfunctioning compressor fairly quickly. However, given how hot it was and that it would take1-2 days to get a new unit, he spent nearly two hours trying to get the compressor back up to at least provide us some relief. While he wasn't able to get it back running, his effort for only an $85 diagnosis fee was commendable. We also used Comfort to replace our external AC unit. They were very easy to work with, provided us with a number of options, and were the lowest price of the estimates we received. They also completed the work the next day. I highly recommend Custom and would use them again.

They're very easy to deal with over the phone and they've done well for me. They were punctual and I had no extra charges. I've been pleased so far.

Initially we had an meeting with the estimator who was very helpful and explained what the new system should be and how it needs to be set up. He suggested that we keep our heater unit because it is still in good condition and it would fit well into the new system. The installation guys came in on time and it took them about 6 hours to complete the work. They installed the new system precisely as it was discussed and did not make any mess. They even painted a gas pipe for it to look new as the rest of the system. The resulting equipment fits into its environment even better then the original one meaning that installation was done well. Easy to reach via phone, easy to schedule. Prompt, efficient, polite service from the technician. Appreciate being able to pay with credit card. Pricing seems to be industry standard (everyone quoted us the same thing) so we chose the company that was certified for our brand of system.

I interviewed 3 companies and Custom Aire blew the other two out of the water. Here is why; 1. the salesman Mike was presentable, knowledgeable, appeared trustworthy and he showed me all of the options and gave me the best product for the money. Even their estimate sheet was detailed and Mike went through each item individually (unlike the other two companies who just fax me a one page written estimate). The installers Rich and Don were great; friendly, knowledgeable, and most of all completed the job in a timely manne. They left my home the way they found it. I felt good about Custom Aire as they have been in business for 40 years and do not sub out. I am confident they will be around to service the unit in the future. When you spend this kind of money you have to be comfortable with the sale and the install and I have to say that I got what paid for!! I relied on the comments from Angies List to make my selection as well. I hope that my comments help you when you decide on whether or not to go with Custom Aire.
