Fantastic! Dave and his crew are professional, courteous, efficient, abd do great work. I called Dave for a quote because a roof vent was blown off in a wind storm, and I knew we were due for a new roof. He reinstalled the vent for free, gave me a quote on the spot, and then followed up with great work. We could not be happier with the entire experience.

I worked in the construction industry for four years. I know my stuff...and these guys blew me away. They were on time. Their work ethic was unmatched. They used quality materials and applied them correctly. They swept the area around my house for nails, etc so thoroughly that I am surprised they didn't unearth some kind of buried treasure. And they came in under budget. But that only scratches the surface. I forgot to ask them about installing a roof vent for my bathroom until they were on site this morning. I suggested I could go grab one from Lowes, if they'd be willing to add on some additional charge for the additional labor. No problem, they've got a vent in the truck and they'd be happy to add it on. Come to figure, they added two - one for each of the bathrooms, not just the one I'd requested - and they didn't charge me an extra penny. Around midday, the foreman knocks on the door and asks me what color I'd like my furnace chimney painted! He'd thoughtfully provided two color swatches he thought might work with the new roof. I later saw one of the workers up there after the chimney was in place (it's a removable faux chimney) carefully touching up the paint so it'd be just so (with a piece of metal in place to be sure the paint didn't drip onto the roof, of course). Again, no extra charge. And at the end of the day, during that very thorough final sweep, they came across the board in my backyard privacy fence which had come down over the winter. I told them no, it was nothing they'd done - and yet they still put it back up. Again, no charge. I have never seen anything like this company. Outstanding doesn't come close to covering it. They're busy and can be a touch hard to get a hold of, but be persistent - they're not at the phone because they're out doing amazing work for homeowners that will rave about them just like I do.

Very well! Started at 8am and were done and left at 2pm. They had a crew of about 10 guys and even brought their own port-a-potty. They searched the gardens and lawn for nails with both a magnet and by sight.

Perfectly, They were total professionals. in and out in 3 hrs. They went above and beyond. I asked for a 1 ft overhang, no problem they even dropped a 2x6 facia board on either side to maintain as solid area for the drip edge and the seal on the roof . Price was fine and no extra charges. They even sweep with magnets for spent metals.

Wow, in 6 hours we had a new roof and clean up completed. If governments could only be this efficient. Of the bids we got, theirs was in the middle but based on the reviews we selected to go with them. The one thing you have to be patient with is the estimate project start date. Weather and work scheduled ahead of you makes things variable so don't expect a hard and fast commitment on when work will start. We got a call on Friday afternoon that they could start on Monday. That worked for us so we gave the green light to go ahead. By 8:00 AM Monday morning feet were on the roof. Except for a lunch break work was continuous. The workmen (there were about 12 I believe) were polite and considerate. The attention to detail on clean up afterward was outstanding. The new roof looks great? We would certainly use them again and recommend them.

About a month after the estimate Dave called and set up a time for the next day. They arrived promptly at 0730 and worked steadily until lunch time. Dave has an awesome operation. Two or three trucks were at my house with all of the supplies that were needed plus a porta potty. I don't know for sure how many workers there were but everyone had a job to do. After removing the old shutters they found that the old wood needed to be replaced. Dave said that they would not be comfortable not doing a good job. Of course, I told him to replace it. The job was finished and cleanup started around 2:30 PM. Everything was cleaned up and anything that was moved was returned. They did an awesome job and the roof looks great.
Description of Work: I called Kish Valley Roofing for an estimate to replace my roof. Dave returned my call on the second day and he came to my house for an estimate. I immediately hired his company.

He is very efficient. They know what they are doing. They tell you right up front that he is going to do GAF shingles. He gave us the bid, and a piece of paper saying everything he would do. He was quite efficient. He has lots of good recommendations on Angie's List, but ultimately he also has a lot of work. When we talked to him, probably a month ago, he was already book into late November early December. I know he has a very good reputation in the area. Ultimately we want to use Owens corning shingles, so we are going with a different person. It was a free estimate.

Extremely pleased with every aspect of the job. Dave was very accommodating and he and the crew worked extremely hard, like a fine tuned machine to complete everything (in one day!). The roof looks great and what impressed me was the little things that were done to make sure everything was done right. The main word that comes to mind, to summarize everything, is Professional. Definitely knew what they were doing and wasted no time doing it! .
Description of Work: Removed old sheeting, shingles and skylight. Then put on new flashing, charcoal architectural style shingles & a new sky light. He also trimmed a pine tree on the roof and fixed some gutter spouting outlets. There's really nothing he didn't do. Cleaned up after they were done and a crew even came back the next day to check on everything (it was dark when they finished).

Dave, the owner, came over within a few days of calling to give me an estimate, and he wrote it up right on the spot for us. His estimate sheet had all the standard things they provide so he was able to check off the basics then put in a few other details. The price included a complete roof shingle replacement and new gutters. SInce we recently moved into this house, we had a "home warranty" and Dave also stopped over and gave us an estimate on the leaky spot and worked with the warranty company so we could get partially reimbursed for that leaking area. So he was very responsive and I liked dealing with him. On the day of the roof replacement, they showed up very promptly with 4 trucks, with all the materials they needed plus extra like additional plywood. They also brought along their own porta-potty so no one needed to come into the house. The working guys were mostly Amish, and soon as things were unpacked they got right to work. They wasted no time starting on taking off shingles, in a quick yet orderly manner. It appeared as they pulled off old shingles and stacked them to be tossed over into the dump truck in neat piles. Partway through the day I was called and asked about replacing some soft plywood panels. I was glad to get the call to check on that and I said yes I would pay the extra expense to have the roof replaced more soundly. I was charged a reasonable amount for the extra materials. When they left, I believe they had a magnetic nail picker-upper and I only saw 2 small screws on the driveway. It appeared they hand swept my entire driveway before they left. The roof looks great, all the shingles appear straight and even. The gutters are seamless and were installed properly and with nice downspouting as I had requested as far as new directions on some ends. The gutter guards were installed and look like a very nice and long lasting design, as well as not being overly pricey. Honestly I thought replacing my roof would have cost $11,000. Our roof is as simple as it gets, all flat with no extra windows or outcroppings. But their price was amazing, to include gutters was just fantastic. I'd use them again, but I think this roof will last quite some time. I highly recommend them!

Dave came on March 28 to give me an estimate on a new roof, I called on Monday to let him know we wanted to get on his schedule and that we were in a pinch for time due to the fact we wanted to put our house on the market. He said he could work us in during the next couple of weeks. Tuesday he called to have me confirm the color of shingles I wanted. By Tuesday evening he was calling us back to see if he could do the roof on Wednesday. Unfortunately, we had snow Tuesday evening and there was still snow on the roof Wednesday morning, but he called again Wednesday night to see if they could come Thursday. Thursday morning arrived and they were right on time. There were about 7 workers and they wasted no time getting right to work tearing the old roof off. They replaced sheeting that had been damaged from a leak around the chimney. The damage was fairly extensive. They re-flashed everything, installed ice guard, and also fixed some siding issues that I asked him to look at on the back of our house. They were done by 4:30. We were truly impressed with their work and their true friendliness and helpfulness. I would recommend them to anyone. I am certain that whomever purchases our home will be happy for many years with their workmanship.

I called Kish Valley Roofers in Spring of 2014 to get an estimate to replace a shingled roof (32 x 30 house footprint. I don't know the roof square footage). I had and estimate of approximately $4200.00 within a week. I got on their list at the same time, telliing them there was no rush but I would like to get it done by the next winter. I checked in a couple times over the summer to make sure I was still on their list. I got a call at the end of September that they would be out in a day or two depending on the weather. The came and set up around 7:30 on the appointed day and had the old roof off and the new one on by noon the same day. If I didn't see the new roof I would not have known they were there. The brought their own portable toilet and did not need access to the house. We agreed to put on new gutter guards and even with the new guards the price came to about $4000.00. I waited one particularly bad winter before evaluating. I couldn't be happier. I would recommend Kish Valley to anyone.

Finding a roofer for such a small job was fearfully going to be a difficult task. I started with Kish Valley Roofing because they were at the top of Angie's list for the area and contacted them. I left a message on Monday, August 18th and got a call-back on Tuesday, the 19th. I gave my address and they were there to assess the roof on Wednesday. I got a call mid-afternoon that my problem was most likely the cracked boot for one of two vent-pipes from the bathrooms. He told me that the other boot on that roof was also in rough shape . I told him to proceed with replacing the two boots and also asked him to caulk around any joints where the rooflines come together and around the ridge/roof vents. He was able to do the work immediately after I OK'd the work and that was all it took - all for a whopping $50. I must add that I contacted about four other vendors on Angie's lists too. I did receive calls back from two that said the job was too small for them to leave their bigger jobs to do, the one's phone number did not go to him at all (went to a welder?!?), and the fourth never returned my phone call at all. So, I would highly recommend Kish Valley Roofing. They were prompt, professional, cost-effective and did a nice job. When we replace our roof in the next five years or so, I plan on giving them the first call for that work!.
Description of Work: We had noticed a very small, slow leak in our roof that was only 14 years old. They came out, climbed up on the roof and assessed the problem as being a cracked vent-pipe boot. They replaced that and the other boot on that section of roof and also caulked around all seams and the ridge vent.

Several of my friends used Kish Valley Roofing and told us how pleased they were with the quality and the crew. We gave the go-ahead to replace the roof late last fall, but they were unable to come until the spring because of other jobs as well as the awfully cold winter. But boy oh boy, did they come! In about 6 hours, Dave and his crew tore up the old roof, installed ice/rain shield, roof paper, shingles, ridge caps, as well as all-new gutters and down spouts all around. In that time, they also ran magnets around to pick up nails and other metal debris, picked up all other debris by hand and then ran a leaf blower before they left. You would have never known that they had been there. Plus, they brought their own porta-potty so they didn't need to enter our 1,100 SF house! There were no gotchas; that is, the final paperwork reflected the original estimate, which was lower than five other State College roofers. In the end, I was VERY impressed and would HIGHLY recommend them.

Kish Valley provided a quote in May and I accepted his quote after obtaining several other quotes. He said then he would not be able to get to the job until at least July and maybe September. That was accepteble to me. On September 17, Dave Peavey called and asked if the next day would be accepteble since he had had a cancellation (reason unknown to me). It was short notice, but we had planned to be home that day so I accepted. Dave and his crew of 10 showed up at 7:30 am as planned. They sized up the job, set up and had the old roof off by 9:30. The old shingles were handled very efficiently with a minimum of mess into his dumptruck. Very little debris made it to the yard. They assessed the dormers where we had leaks and recommended some changes which made sense. The majority of the crew then started installing 7/16 plywood over the whole roof surface. Two or three focused on the dormer changes. Once the plywood was down, they started installing the shingles. By 5 pm, 80% of the shingles on the house were done. Dave asked whether I was concerned about rain that night, but the weather was supposed to be good, so I said no. I think he would have finished the main roof that evening if I had had a concern. They were back at 7:30 the next morning, finished the main roof and the garage roof. They were done by 11 am. Two of the younger members of his crew spent a lot of time picking up small pieces of debris and running large magnets everywhere to pick up nails. I was impressed by how thorough they were. I was impressed by how hard all of his crew worked. I would definitely hire Kish Valley again and will recommend them to my friends.

This is the second home we've had Dave and his crew reroof, and we've been pleased with the results both times. They are very, very fast, but the work is not sloppy, they simply use a large crew. They completed my previous home (including new gutters) in one day. This house took one day, the garage another afternoon.

It was excellent. Came within a day with the estimate, stuck with the estimate when the final bill was presented. Arrived to do the job within a day over two weeks from the day he looked over the job. Was very punctual on all accounts. Had a large crew of nice men that completed the job in less of one full day, just amazing with the speed of the job. Cleaned up super well, took very good care of the property and was very respectful. Other neighbors were also impressed with this crew and their work. Just an outstanding job!

Bid the job as described to them. Bid is in writing and beat other contractors by more than 30%. Called the day before starting work to set arrival time and verify shingle color selection. Arrived exactly at time promised. Three trucks and a crew of eight got right to work removing the old roof. Looked like each worker knew exactly what their job was and they all worked their area.Started at 07:30 and completed all the work and cleanup by 16:00. Workers are very polite and moved patio furniture and protected plants. Walked the grounds several time with a large magnet to be certain all nails were found and disposed.
Description of Work: Removed old roof. Repaired loose and soft plywood sections. Repaired poor repairs done by previous roofer..Cut three roof vents for bathroom and kitchen vents as requested. Installed rubber ice shields in valleys and along edges. Installed paper backing for Timberline shingles and installed shingles. Installed gutter guards on all gutters. Cleaned up entire area to complete the job. One of the best working crews I have seen in a long time.
