Carpet cleaning is great but as far as the other services you need to double check and ask the crew that shows up if they are licensed in that area of work being performed to make sure you get the best work done as possible.
Description of Work: I am a former Employee from this company. The services provided by them are "alright" and precautions are used when materials need to be removed from a flooded home. And thorough cleaning is provided for smoke/fire damaged homes, but they do not always get everything perfectly clean and I feel as if they had other supplies that cleanups would be better. The people that are sent to a job such as water and fire damaged homes are to be licensed in that area of damage, but the problem is they do send out a crew that neither is licensed in that area so jobs are not always completed properly which I believe is illegal due to it being insurance claims. As for carpet cleaning, the carpet cleaning part is great, 95% of the time stains are able to be removed from carpets or lightened up a good bit that some carpet cleaning companies cannot remove. If you're looking for carpet cleaning I would reccomend them but as far as the emergency services I would be leary and check over the work performed. Better to hear from someone who has worked personally for the company than someone that does not know the in depths of the company.

My insurance company sent Servicemaster by Holobinko to my house after a pipe burst in my basement ceiling. The workers came, gave me a packet describing the dangers of lead in old houses and had me sign that I received it (it also contained a description of all of the precautions that they had to take to contain dust). They then proceeded to tear down the sodden ceiling, saw through plaster, etc., and s*** it all over the contents of the room and the carpet without moving anything or putting down any sort of tarps or protection. This was clearly not in line with any practices that a responsible contractor should follow, and it was also not following the law. I was left with a room full of paint chips, plaster dust and muddy, mouse-excrement laden carpet, furniture and children's toys. The workers also did not remove all of the water-soaked ceiling, so I had to call back and have them come out and take down more. I was leaving that day on a vacation, so I had to leave a key with the workers to get in to monitor the dehumidifiers, etc, that they had set up. When I returned more than a week later, I discovered that they had left the basement door wide open, leaving my house exposed to whomever or whatever wanted to come in for a week. I complained to my insurance company and to Servicemaster, the owner apologized, and said he would do "whatever" I thought was necessary to make it right. Eventually they sent a crew to "clean up," however, the cleanup was just wiping stuff down with a "proprietary solution" and all of the toys and items still had large amounts of dust in places where any kid could get it on their hands and then ingest it. I tested the dust and it was clearly full of lead. A proper cleanup would have been to take everything and properly wash it with water. The kicker was that they charged my insurance company $900 after the cleanup of the mess they made. Since the owner said that he would do "whatever was necessary" to make it right, I asked that when they did the cleanup they box the items so that the room could have repairs done to it. So he charged my insurance company $900 for boxes and moving the contents (without clearing it with me first), despite promising to do whatever he needed to fix the problem he created. Meanwhile, I am left with a room full of kids' toys that I would have no kid play with and a carpet that still has stains. I have had to go through and carefully clean the numerous areas in the room that they missed. I would never use them again.

Response from SERVICE MASTER BY HOLOBINKO
In response to the member, when we received his complainant letter (4/1/2011) we contacted him immediately and set up an appointment to go to the site, arriving that same day. The Production manager and Office manager arrived at his house and discovered our technicians had not been as careful as they should have been containing debris when tearing down part of the damaged ceiling. We apologized to him and indicated that we could come back that day and take care of his concerns. He informed us that because the contractor had to repair the ceiling first he wanted to wait for any additional steps on our part before that was done. We agreed and informed him that we were willing to take whatever steps necessary to make it right. From that point forward we maintained in constant contact with the member each week either by call or email. After five and half months he finally said he was ready for us to come and clean the basement. The member then informed us at this point that the contractor needed the contents moved out of the room before the repairs could be done. We informed him that we could do this, but because we did not bill for this we would have to charge for the boxing, packing, and moving of the items out of the basement, not the cleaning. On 9/2/2011 we arrived at his house with a crew of three techs and the production manager. They were there all day with the member. From (9:30a.m.-5:20p.m) cleaning and boxing all of the contents in the basement that needed attention. We thoroughly cleaned each item before it was boxed. We did this in accordance with standard procedures using a cleaning agent and water. Thru each step of the process the member was present to witness the handling of his property. At the end of the day the production manager walked thru with the member, and after reviewing the completed work he signed off saying he was satisfied. (We have this on file) We fully admit our initial mistake or mishandling of this situation, but as soon as we were aware of it we took every measure to correct it. It was the member who waited almost 6 months to have us fix it and even at that point in time the construction was not completed.
